My theory is that gamefreak wanted to have a super complex capture-method so that people had to get the guide.

It's hilarious how GameFreak didn't distribute the Azure Flute thinking people would find it complicated to figure out what to do, but they think THIS is simple enough to leave in the game. Seriously, what the hell were they smoking?

Well fairly by the time the Regis were out internet was thing not accessible but a thing.and now with that stupid regice nickname condition was also caught on so easily.the thing is they knew Arceus was a bit too much for the meta game.that's y they didn't realise an exactly good version until black and white.
Here's another interesting idea: The draconids obviously used dragon pokemon, most of which are also flying type. What are the 3 types that dragon's fear the most? Well, since fairy type was introduced in gen 6, we can safely assume there weren't any of them 2000 years ago. That leaves ice, steel and rock. Ice because it's super effective against dragons, (the only type other than dragon with that property, steel because it's the only type that resists dragon, and rock because many dragon type pokemon are also flying type (as of gen 3, the only ones that aren't are flygon and kingdra). So maybe the regis, being ice, steel, and rock type, were sealed away because they were powerful legendaries who could effectively defeat dragons.

In the manga champion steven dies because he used the 3 regi's at the same time to battle groudon and kyogre, because ''their power comes with a price''. Ruby used celebi to alter history so steven ain't dead currently, but that is my guess why they are sealed away. who wants to use pokemon who take your own life just by using them?

I still wonder why Regice specifically needs a nickname and a certain kind of item. Why not the other Regis as well? As for Dig, I'd like to think the move is used to dig through the wall. Also, the Strength/Rock Smash puzzle could have something to do with an underground switch or something, like in B2W2. Or it could be what you said. As for the other theories, I think it's pretty likely that they are true. I especially liked you noticing you having noticed Wailord and Relicanth's relation to real life animal evolution. Seeing how those animals evolved, I'd say the ancient people saw them as connections between the land and the sea.

That was a really impressive video! I loved it! I feel like I should point something out though... I was playing the original Pokemon Sapphire. While I was trying to interpret the braille in Regice's chamber using my visual guide in my Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire guide, the one that requires you to run around the perimeter, the chamber unlocked by itself. Perhaps that version of the game had the "patience" requirement as an alternate solution?

Awesome video Mikey, I love the regi hunt and this new layer that makes a lot of sense makes it even better. But For a theory suggestion I wanted to bring this up, I also asked Toby so maybe you could collaborate. In episode 283 there is an elderly treecko and in mewtwo returns there are baby nidoqueen but in the rest of anime baby and elderly Pokemon seem to correspond with their evolution line. And in the game some trainers have evolved Pokemon at the wrong level and I could train a newborn to level 70 in a few hours. So my question is do you think levels and age have anything to do with each other? I would love to hear your thoughts.

What is his relationship with Groudon cosidering one created the continents and the other moved/shaped them? May be silly questions, but Im still curious.
God...I remember figuring out this out when I was in 3th grade. Only did so because my class was reading a short story about a blind man and it had the braille alphabet on one of the pages. I still remember my friends being jealous that I had the Regi's captured.

Hey MandJ i have a question! If Latios and Latias are legendaries then why in the movie there seem to be a lot more............ an entire species?
Well, I don't consider them "legnedaries" to me they are more Semi-Legendary, reason being, as you said there a multiples of them, however the real legendaries, like Rayquaza, there is only one of, another example of a semi legendary is Deoxys (you'd have to watch the deoxys movie to understand this one) Manaphy, Lugia, cause in one of the episodes, you see a baby Lugia being given to a trainer, and probably a few more that i can't think of.
@@draginlock9573 After the Arceus Event in HGSS can you really say there are only 1 of the most legendary Pokemon anymore? There were 3 different Mewtwos in the anime, There were also at least 2 Regigigas. The fact that Shiny Legends are a thing proves there are more than 1 of some like Rayquaza.
Because anime/movies are another universe separate from the games :) the canon version are the games, of course, so you shouldn't take anything the anime (and movies) says too seriously
And didn't mention why Regigigas was kept in a chamber initially protected by the people of Snowpoint an ENTIRE REGION away, in what could be considered the most stark contrast to the tropical Hoenn region

I speculate that why Regigigas is encountered in the Island Cave (Regice's encounter place) is a reference to Gen 4 when it was introduced. In D/P/Pt, you encounter Regigigas in the temple that was in Snowpoint City, both places were cold and had ice, presumably. As to why Regice is the only one of the trio needed to be named and given an item was simply because the Island Cave was where it rested.

In Platinum, you need Regigas to unlock the 3 regis, but you need the 3 regis to unlock Regigas....Whats more is that the latter is level 1.... WHY????

Nice theory, but here’s why I think they were MADE... here we go... Here’s my theory on this, I believe Regigiggas was once fully one Pokemon, however, during an adventure in *galar* the dynamax Pokemon blasted Regiggigas into smaller titans of himself leaving some weakened ones, and some still standing strong, leaving only one with the original memory and know how on what originally happened, however, regiggas foresaw these events, and created smaller Regis with each of his powers indivually to one day hopefully sense the presence of parts of him scattered in different regions, and to fully unite him back however regiggas knew about the legend of the Crown Tundra, and decided to create soldiers for the king as he helped prosper the people’s land, and created two legendary Regis that were new, sometime after this, eternatus started to chaos havoc, which then would become the darkest day, Reguggas then knew that he was strong enough to weaken eternatus for eternity so the legendary sword and shield Pokemon could fully destroy him, The sons of the original legendary bird trio then came and teamed up to beat eternatus but were beaten leaving them almost killed, then regiggas turned all their weaknesses into strengths, by using his power to change the legendary birds powers, and help them in their new environment, also making them strong enough, as per this kind deed, Regiggas told them that he would be happy if the legendary bird trio would look after the king in the crown tundra, and so they did, regiggas also then gave them a present, tree, which would help them heal if they ever got hurt. Then, regiggas fought with eternatus at full strength, by doing this, most of eternatus’ energy scattered in galar, which resulted in dynamax, then just as eternatus was going to destroy regiggigas, regiggas, blasted eternatus, which weakened eternatus even more, but in return weakened regiggas, which then got blasted, and...well if u read this correctly, you know what happened.

Another point that the people from the seafloor cave might have been draconid: Look at the Draconids. They are a people who align themselves with Rayquaza, seeking to maintain peace and more importantly, balance. The Draconids are known to make their home in Meteorfalls , which is high in the mountains of Hoenn in the very north west corner of the region. Comparatively, the Sea Floor cavern is in the south east portion of the region at the lowest possible level. It's a concept of Yin and Yang, high and low, earth and sea. It is balance in it's purest form. If the Draconids have been around so long as well, It's possible that they may swap back and forth between the two locations depending on which Legendary is dominant. Meteor Falls is very close to the volcano, and we know that volcanic activity skyrockets when Groudon is in his peak power. As such, being near the volcano when Groudon is in power would be a bad idea, and it's better to move to the other location when the sea levels fall due to the increased temperatures causing greater amounts of evaporation. INversely, when Kyogre is in power the heavy rains result in increased sea levels, meaning they can no longer use their base in the sea floor cavern as the heightened sea levels flood the cavern.
If they wanted a test for a worthy trainer they should just have put Regigigas in the river to hang with Feebas. Here's an interesting question for you to cover: which region do the Gen 1 pokemon that can only be found in the safari zone originate from? For example we associate Kangaskhan and Tauros with Kanto but they aren't actually found in the wild there.

Why does eevee have the capability of evolving into different types? P.S. If u talk about its genetic makeup then plz go in depth. ;)
The regi quest seems less like honouring both Land and Sea than like Kyogre getting the edge over Groudon. Hoenn is the region with the most water on a planet that is about 2/3 water, so we can safely assume that Kyogre on in the long run in their battle. You bear mind that both the pokemon required are rare water types and the mons that are locked away represent the land as well... Add Kyo's typing advantage & Groudon gaining far less from Sun than Kyogre does from rain and this becomes something to consider - not a test, but a record of Hoenn's history?
Yeah Kyogre always had the advantage before Primal Reversion became a thing. it's not just the Pokemon World that the Ocean is defeating the Land. Look at our world, every year more of the icesheets melt raising sealevels further. In 20 years they say our coastal cities will all be flooded if something isn't done. Team Aqua doesn't even need to awaken Kyogre, the melting icesheets of the Arctic & Antarctic are accomplishing their goals.
Sadly, Hoenn is one the only one of the first four that I didn't play. I've even played the ranger game, but not classic Hoenn.

i think the primitive people that sealed the trio dont have pokeballs in their time witch mean to have a pokemon they had to tame them with food like real animals so if pokemon is the future then people will be bringing their pets litteraly everywhere and make them knock out other peoples pets to get money from their bets... yeah thats why i try as hard as posible not to think of the dark side of if pokemon are real.

My interpretation of strength and fly is something like 'the power of the sky' which may allude to Rayquaza. Because the other two using surf and dig reference Groudon and Kyogre.

I think this is an amazing coincidence as i don't think game freak had any idea of ever making the draconids when gen 3 was made- but your ideas to find this were great
Yes, but when they decided to make the draconids, they probably looked back to see what Pokemon can learn dig/fly via level up, and made the final evolution of those two lines the Draconids main Pokemon.

should have made it way harder... like achieving 60 6-0s on wifi battling , required to play game and reset 6 times , have a full team of 6 6iv lvl100 shiny margikarps with u before unlocking to battle...only 6 turns to battle
