Usetool's warnings
- Before carrying out this operation, we recommend watching the video "10 things to know when changing a timing belt" as well as the video "How to empty and bleed the coolant fluid circuit", since you will have to carry out both of these operations to avoid breaking the engine.
- Never ever turn the engine in an anti-clockwise direction.
- You will need to remove the Damper pulley. You must not use a socket wrench to unscrew it. You could lose its setting, or bend the pin in the engine.
Usetool's infos
For this operation, you have to remove the accessory belt and tensioner pulley.

The starting moment is always scary, even if you know you did everything good and al the marks are in place, if the first start fucks up than its gonna be an expensive repair😅. Good job👍🏻💪🏻
Good job guys 👌
Nice clear guide used this to do mine
Hi @davidsneddon3758 ! My pleasure, I hope the operation went well 👌
great job
Brilliant
What is the torque setting for the bolts holding the plate to the head that the engine mounting is bolted to?
How often do we need to change the belt?
Where is the link for the video to lock the flywheel pls ?
Whats the point of the white line on the belt at crank sprocket ? it doesnt line up with the mark on the sprocket .
Had me going mad for 2 days on a job as i have never came across an engine before where the tensioner marker moves with rotation 😂😰 kept thinking it was faulty tensioner, tried 2 others all doing the same thing 🤣
after turning it around why you have to adjust the tension again and start over, it makes no sense
the belt could stretch a little. that's why the pin could not fit in after 2 turns and you need to adjust
You are missing how to block the engine flywheel from your tutorial list
It was good help but you missed the torque setting for the 5 bolts under the upper plastic protection.
Gave mine 19nm but that just aprox guess.
20Nm + 90 degrees
Montrez-moi l'image de l'échange d'excurrateur de transmission de dct-mission sèche.
Can you get away with skipping the water pump if it only did 50.000km (in 7 years)? The bearing feels like new.
10:55 this is an e-torx 16 in my clio 4 grandtour not an 11! Had to remove the starter and soak the bolt it in penetrating oil for a day to get it off. Took bluddy hours. I'll probably replace the mangled bolt for a normal hex bolt as these are unobtanium.
I ordered an e11 and was disappointed that it won't fit. A 11 twelve-point socket seems to fit. This would be an e14 Torx according the measurements
@@rguca knowing French car manufacturers they probably slap on what they have on the shelf that day.
Why slacken the camshaft sprocket bolts tighten rotate engine slacken again then tighten when there was no adjustment made in them
Because the belt settles during those first rotations.
The cost to have this belt changed will cost a fortune in garage renault what was they thinking with this set up
800eu in renault dealer with the waterpump replaced also
No, do not use engine oil for circulation pump edge
the lock in the block will withstand tightening the pulley screw to 120 Nm+95
The timing pin can be used to tighten the bolt?
@@rubenproost2552
@@rubenproost2552 No, it will bend.
@@kentnielsen9865 More googling taught me that you SHOULD use that locking pin for tightening, and I did without issue, well my pos socket extension twisted in half. The bending happens if you try to loosen the bolt with the pin in place because it will see lateral forces then.
Easier to change the engine.
