Hated twin fins til I brought a Chris Christensen.... 10months later and a couple fin change ups... not sure if I'll go back to thruster, ever. Nice info on the clip, thanks
I've looked at Christenson's a lot. They seem to be winning fans, including you. What fins have you found work for you on your Christenson? And which Christenson model did you get?
@@NCsurfer607 My T1 Twin + Trailer in BV2 was perfect. Did try JJF Signature Thruster Large but to be honest wasnt the right board for bigger days. I creased it in 4 -5ft surf. Had a TwinTech, which I think is weak construction, so sold it. Really wanted it shorter than the 6'2" I had with the same volume but couldn't get it without playing with the dims too much.
I think most twin fins have probably to flat of a rocker which is fine for slow fat waves I have the MF twin fin from DHD it has heaps of rocker and it's not skatey at all and you can ride without thinking it's a twin fin the down side is you need quality waves with push . It's not a grovel board at all.
Superficially they look the same but cant is 1 degrees different at 6.5. Can't get Soar here and they are certainly expensive when you convert. Also sold out on their website. :-)
@@tui_ruwhiu_wavecomms I might have caused that - oops! The Soar are also G10 which is quite stiff and responsive. If you have not already tried the BMT I liked them a lot. I prefer them over AMK.
Greg webbers new long skinny twins look really weird but are apparently amazing. There is an article in the latest surfers journal about Greenoughs bendy fin theory that supports Webbers reasoning for the performance of said fins.

I find keels or large base twin fins hold more if you don’t like the skatey feel with your tail slipping when you give it a push
Yep. That's why I like the AMK's.
I have been using the Rob Machaddo Keels for a year or so now, wouldn't change back.
Honeycomb vs Fibreglass. What makes them feel better for you?
They are fiberglass to the best of my knowledge. I find the keels just seem to work, don't really know why
@@stuartmillar8264 says they are honeycomb on the FireWire website. Always good when you find something that works for you.
I use the MR’s twin + trailer in my BV2 and love it. But when I ride it as an thruster just can’t find the right combo so I just stick with 2+1

Good to know. Cheers.
@@tui_ruwhiu_wavecomms side note you can now get Mark Richards twin fins in futures they are a great twin plus trailer set
try a set of SOAR MMBT G10 they are the best I've tried and I have tried a lot of them... I made a few videos comparing them.

future machado blacksticks
Pivot, Twin Plus 1 or 3.0 Thruster?
@@tui_ruwhiu_wavecomms pivot concave foil 2=1 set but way better without the trailer

twinzer bro
Interesting take on a board. Don't think I'll be going there, but thanks for the thought.
The reason you hate them is because you have probably been riding garbage boards.or your not very good.
