The Shadow is a great board, I agree. For smaller wave you could consider the new JS Xero Fusion in Easyrider dimension (the 6’0 is 36.2L) in order to shorten the lenght. It’s mental! Wooly has just reviewed it

Thanks for the suggestion. I've got an RNF96 at 6'00" and 37l, which is a fun surfboard for summer waves. I possibly went a little heavy on the volume there. I did look at other JS boards with the Easyrider dimensions. Will take a look. Cheers.

As always, a fantastic review. At 36, 6'3 (188cm) and 180lbs(80kgs) I've been moving in down in volume. My most recent addition has been a stock ghost 6'3. The next board will probably be in 96 at 5'10, a js big baron 6'4, or the precious 5'11 or 6'0 for those days that are waist high to the head and a half. What do you think about the Precious?

I've watched John Pyzel talk about it and seen the comparison surfing video that Jai Glindeman did, as well as looked at a few others vids. It's certainly generating interest amongst surfing communities I'd try it out if someone gave me one to ride but not rushing out to buy one. Sound like you're getting your quiver sorted.

I believe, at worst you are advanced/intermediate. You send it on the good days. I hope to surf as well as you when I am the age you are now. Thank you for sharing your insights

Ever ride any of the pyzels as quads ?

Yes, I've ridden both my Shadow XL and my Ghost as quads. They both worked fine, but I think I would keep the Shadow as a thruster and just use the Ghost with quads on the bigger days.

Will you try the high line?

It look like a good possibility but I'd have to go too long to get the volume I want. Pretty happy with the mix I've got now for the breaks I surf here. Will see how I go in Fiji with my current quiver and reassess after that.

@@tui_ruwhiu_wavecommsok cool. Yes you should just custom make your XL dims. Sadly it’s not popular enough to get a XL version but the only reviews I’ve heard is that it’s more versatile than the shadow, more refined in the nose but works well in more waves than the shadow. Would be a back footed surf board

@@foxgd88 Interesting thoughts. Had the Red Tiger XL in semi clean 3 ft sets this morning. It was working well. Could be a bit of a double up, but I'll keep it in mind. Cheers.

@@tui_ruwhiu_wavecommsyes, well pyzel said compared to the Red tiger it is more refined in the rails and nose keeping it more sensitive. Many people say it works I’m small waves but realistically I think it would cover more of the shadows range just by the shape of the board. No pressure but if you want to try something new sometime and be the first to make a proper review it will be sick
