I tried both and my skin definitely prefers Benton. I'm 30 with normal to combo skin with no issues. I just felt like cosrx texture is little bit heavy for me, but I live in hot and humid climate.

Your videos are life changing! I used to have acne and oil issues. I purchased the complete benton snail line and oh my goodness..... Goodbye oily skin and my acne almost stopped completely. As soon as I ran out of the products, the oil came back. I'm back to almost being able to deep fry food on mah face :/

Hey Kelly, thanks for the in depth review. I would like to mention that the benton one contains 13% of snail only. I e-mailed benton and that's what they said to me. Maybe that was not the case before the reformulation

The Benton ultimate serum has higher snail content with beeswax and aloe Vera
I heard they have reformulated the benton though. The newer version doesnt have arbutin anymore. They replace it with niacinamide.
I have not tried this new formula! I prefer arbutin's brightening properties but niacinamide does also brighten the skin! I hope they keep it in the sheet mask version, that really gives my skin a great pick me up and helps with acne!
Kelly Driscoll i agreeee, i prefer it to be arbutin. There is already so many products that contains niacinamide in the market, while i rarely see good products with arbutin in it. I havent tried the newer version though. Anyway, i love your explanation, looking forward to see more k beauty videos in the future!

I have few questions : I have hyperpigmentation and pits from acne , how often and how should I apply snail essence , should I apply it overnight ? Though they both are snail essence why is Benton more effective with hyperpigmentation?
Apply it morning and night! Benton works on hyperpigmentation because it has the addition of the brightening ingredient, niacinamide!
Can you compare them to mizon snail products??

I might be the only one here but I prefer Benton, it is cosmetically more pleasant. Cosrx it's more of a backup 4 me when Benton is finished. Cosrx is also stickier in my opinion. And I confess the 6 or 3 months life span I would personally half... I tend to be generous when it comes to doses and I go through both products very quickly. ;)
ps. when considered per gram the 2 products are not very dissimilar in price.. Benton is approx 20 cents per gram while cosrx is 18 cents... so really it's just a matter of preference

I don't see any issues with using Benton before retinol, retinol in general is a little less pH dependent than say BHA or AHA,

Hi there! the cosrx essence is not moisturizing enough so you will need to use a separate moisturizer and always, always use SPF, no matter what! The klairs has an odd texture so you might want to put it towards the end of your routine, prior to moisturizer. When in doubt, always order your products thinnest to thickest consistency!

I would suggest trying cerave moisturizing cream because it's great for dry skin! I also love oil for dry skin, Herbivore Lapis is a good choice because it can also calm inflammation from acne! Hormonal acne is hard to treat with products topically because it's an internal issue, but I have heard some say blue light therapy can help.
Try cutting out dairy products.

Neither has a cooling effect, imo! The benton may have a more refreshing/cooling feel because it's a thinner, gel like consistency but there are no specific ingredients that would make this cooling.

@@greenrocket9344 vitamin C is best used after cleansing as it's pH dependent and your skin should ideally be at a low pH right after cleansing. Unless that toner is a pH adjusting toner!

I honestly want my skin that is kinda sunburnt/dry in places to heal. I purchased the cosrx serum, just waiting for it to ship to my place. I hope I took the right decision. I have decided to go for something more healing rather than just hydrating. What do you recommend?
I believe the cosrx is a great choice to help repair the damaged skin. I would also suggest taking a look at Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream because that is supposed to help skin damaged from the sun. I have been using it for irritated skin and it really helps! I think using both would be a very good way to address the sunburnt and dry skin you are experiencing. Good Luck!💕

I bought my snail essence at the beginning of this year off of Amazon. I've never really had any issue with fakes. I mostly purchase off of Amazon, Yesstyle, Style Korean Global, Soko Glam and Wishtrend. I have also heard that Jolse and RoseRose Shop are reputable. The best way to spot a fake is of course the label, but companies can change their packaging a lot, and I believe Cosrx does change a lot. The other way is the scent and texture, does it match how I or other bloggers describe it? Most fakes can't replicate texture and smell. And the other way is to make sure there is a manufacturing date on the packaging, fakes often forget this. And I think the biggest one is the price. If the price was way too good to be true it might be a fake.

Cystic acne needs chemical exfoliation like BHA to be very effective and scars I would recommend vitamin C and products with niacinamide (which Benton does have but not a ton) Just the benton snail essence on its own won't give amazing results for cystic acne or scars, but I think using benton will boost your results if you use with other products like I mentioned. In dermatology, all the papers you can read say that the efficacy of topical vitamin C is limited by it's stability in topical forms. Determining the ideal formulation has not been nailed down, however, cosmetic companies will lead you to believe it has. Just sharing research on Vit C. Blessings.

I'd recommend checking out out vitamin C as it will work better/fast than snail. I like the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop. You can use snail essence in combination to give it a brightening boost!

I wanna add wishtrend mandellic acid in my routine for my rosecea skin for smooth exfoliation instead of physical. So shud I use in the morning understand my sunscreen as i can't use at night with vitamin c I guess
@@DanielSmith-fm4fs I'd actually recommend using your vitamin C in your morning routine since it can help boost the UV protection of your sunscreen. Mandaleic acid or AHA's need to be used at night as they can make the skin very photosensitive so good to not exposure yourself to sunlight immediately after use, best to use at night.

How can the Benton Snail Bee has 90% snail secretion filtrate if the first ingredient is water?
That's a great question! My box lists snail secretion filtrate 1st, however I see that Benton lists aqua first on their website which can be confusing! However a quick search yielded some information about a recent reformulation, in which the arbutin was replaced by niacinamide. But the interesting thing here is that they are adhering to different EU regulations with stricter guidelines for ingredient listing. As I understand it, the total amount of water in the entire product (including the natural water found in ingredients like snail secretion filtrate) is totaled up and then listed separately on the ingredients list which is why you can still have 90% snail secretion but water listed first. It's explained on the benton website which I'm pretty sure that RUclips will not let me link, if you google "benton snail bee essence reformulation" the second option should be a review from the benton website that explains this!
