I discovered your channel thorough the Sunscreen Controversy video and love the way you explained it all and broke down the topic. I deeply appreciate your content and I really hope your channel will reach more and more people. You're amazing, please continue with the awesome content.
Thank you! Yes I was so surprised there was no information available on this in English. Many websites even go as far as saying that snail mucin and snail mucin filtrate are the same thing and I can't understand where that knowledge even comes from 😬
Love your videos and the unbiased opinion you are giving. Can you review Korean Beauty products ( most especially ant-ageing ones ) that are not very popular in western countries but very popular in Korea.
Absolutely! Anti-aging skincare is one of my favourite topics if anything 😁 I already have a couple of videos on anti-aging Korean skincare featuring brands that are actually popular in Korea and more content is on its way 👀
I like the COSRX one under my moisturiser. I basically use it as a hydrating serum not as an alone product for the same reason you mentioned - it lacks emollients/occlusives. :)))
Hi Odile My name Is Andrea, I'm an italian man with the korean skincare passion Your videos are very interesting and you are very preparate. Thanks for your Company, see you in the next video😘 Now I'm using the Essence of it's skin with the snail
I have also seen that if you have a dust-mite allergy, it can also have a cross reaction with snail mucin. So people with dust-mite allergies should take extra care to patch test snail mucin products before they use them.
There's a moisturizer cream version of the Dr G Royal Black Snail and I absolutely love it! It's so wonderful to use in conjuction with other brightening serums or essences.
Your contents are amazing! Looking forward to more in-depth videos about korean skin care products and skin care ingredients in general along with latest researches on them.
Very amazing video 😊 Would be interesting to watch a video about stem cells based products. A friend of mine started to use the line the first geniture by O Hui and she's amazed, but I'm still very skeptical, considering the price of these products.
The reason this video strikes me as interesting, is because I travelled to France and tried escargot for the first time, only to find out that I'm allergic to snails. However, I use the COSRX product you mentioned, but it never triggered my allergies. Goes to show that the COSRX product most likely doesn't have any amount of snail mucin, whatsoever. Of course, I'm not a doctor and I don't know the impact of skincare products allergen ingredients vs consuming the allergen itself, but it what a very interesting observation indeed 🧐
snails under distress produce a potentially toxic substance that they don’t produce normally under calmer situations, so maybe that’s why the COSRX mucin didn’t irritate your skin, whereas being cooked alive probably isn’t the most enjoyable experience for the snail
It is very hard to hear you, and then it makes it even harder because you got that music playing in the background. I enjoy your videos but I’d like to be able to hear him so I can hear what you’re saying, thank you!

Wow...I love your content and how you are able to take us along on a deep dive on these topics, so we can become more informed skin care consumers. Thank you for your work. Subscribed.
Most skin care with snail mucin is cruelty free because the snail slime would ruin your skin if harmed because when snails are harmed or threatened they release toxins.
I LOVE that cream, it's the reason why I picked this essence in this first place hahaha more videos are coming (surprisingly, I already wrote the next one for once!)
@@OdileMonodTheMonodist this video was exactly what I needed to watch in the sea of snail mucin videos. I noticed there was a cream and essence for Dr. G option you mentioned. Are both products needed or would one be sufficient? If so cream or essence? Or both? Thank you for your videos!
Thank you! I think it depends on what you're looking for, the cream is very rich and it's marketed as an anti-aging cream for dry and aging skin, the essence is lighter and could be suitable for more skin types and concerns. I personally like both for different reasons, they work well together but it's not necessary to use them both at the same time.

My first comment.Thank you so much for this video. It is very useful and informative. Yes it is that, after 30(age) all we need extra moisture lock like cream or oil based. Water based will not work longer. Bcoz I hav combination skin so i avoided oil completely in my night care routine for one year. Result I hav tiny skin tags in my cheek area.Don't hate oil base cream at night.

I've just discovered your channel and I'm binge watching all of yor videos! Could you review Beauty of Joseon? It looks interesting for the price, but Im not sure if it's a hit or a miss.
Thank you! I mentioned Beauty of Joseon in my first video on Korean Ginseng (ruclips.net/video/RkpzDm-qXqA/видео.html). I don't mind their products per se, but I do find their marketing choices to be quite questionable to be completely honest. In my video on Ginseng I raised the issue that they were making anti-aging claims without sharing details on which variety of ginseng they were using (long story short: not all of them have anti-aging properties and "wrinkle-improving", which is what they used to promote their product, is a regulated claim in Korea...) and six months after that video they got fined by the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for making unauthorised claims like I suspected ( I talked about it here linking to original sources twitter.com/odilemonod/status/1347485680826425351?t=ydIfS0CWmx-H8ZMnVUjigw&s=19). It would have been fine if they just promoted their serum an anti-oxidant product, but to be honest with you... I'm not a big fan of companies breaking the law by making unauthorised regulated claims as well as deceiving their customer base by not revealing important details about the ingredients used in their products, so it’s a big no for me 🤷♀️ Also, you will find that on this channel I try my best to highlight brands and products that are popular in Korea but hardly ever mentioned abroad, and I don't cover brands that are marketed almost exclusively to foreign countries (Beauty of Joseon, Purito and the likes).
Hi Odile! I just discovered your channel and I love it! ☺️ I own the Cosrx snail mucin and the Missha time revolution essence. Do you recommend using them together? I was also wondering if I should use the time revolution essence before or after my vitamin C serum? Hmmm 🤔
Thank you 🥰 you can definitely use the Cosrx essence and the Missha essence together, since they don't contain any conflicting ingredients! As for the vitamin c serum, because vitamin C works better in an acidic environment, it’s usually recommended to use it straight after cleansing for it to be more effective. However, if your skin is on the sensitive side or you just started using vitamin C, you can use your serum after the essence, this will make vit. C slightly less effective but it will give your skin time to adjust 😊 I have a video on vitamin C 101 if you'd like to know more about it!

Those percentages indicate the amount of snail mucin filtrate (a diluted form of snail mucin) whereas the actual snail mucin content can be seen in the colorful liquid at the bottom of the bottles. It wouldn't be a problem if the brands made it clear snail mucin filtrate =/= snail mucin, but the marketing of these products plays on the fact that consumers don't know there's a difference between the two ingredients.
