When I first started my channel, I was skeptical of how difficult it was to continuously push out content Every. Single. Week. I had sleepless nights, the money I spent on filming equipment seemed like a waste, and I overall had no motivation to grow this channel... but I kept focused. Not only did I listen to the feedback, I learnt from my mistakes, focused on a niche and, most importantly, stayed consistent. Now... my channel is thriving more than I ever expected. If I can do it, you can too!

@@rayreid7832 exactly 👍. And YT likes it when you stick to one topic in the beginning - it shows your videos to people interested in that topic. If you do a few different topics, it won't know who to show your videos, so less views and fewer subs. It took me longer because I wanted to share multiple passions (cars and finance). Now I only talk finance in relation to cars/lifestyle.

@@spatrogaming6560 just to inform you that for youtube monetization you need a valid drivers licence or passport etc to prove you are who you say you are. They also require you to be of legal age. You could do it in your parents name but thats a bit of suspicious

I had a bunch of questions. Let's say you get $1 for every 1,000 views. Does one second equal one view or maybe 30 seconds or does it count higher if you watch the whole video? If someone watches 5 seconds of an ad then skips it does it equal the same as the whole ad? Does watch time matter more or does a view when it comes to how much each 1,000 views make?
'Watchtime' doesn't really matter, it all depends on what ads are served to the viewer. Obviously if they watch more of a video more ads may get served.
This is exactly the way a “how to“ info video should be. Packed with information, yet concise at the same time. The length of this video was my primary driving force to selecting this particular one, to answer my questions
For most normal people, and regular channels, it is my humble opinion that it's going to take quite some time before one hits the marks to become monetized. Just looking at my particular niche, there are very few channels that do extremely well. They tend to be moneyed individuals in the first instance. I'm not saying I'm not going to get there, but there is something to be said for youth, good looks, or being somewhat wealthy to be able to produce polished content to push one over the edge a little quicker. I'm in the fight, but I just wanted to be a realist for some of you folks out there that don't realize that this is a very hard thing to do.

rip no one answered your question even after 2 years. i think what he meant by this is that it DOES count only after the livestream is finished and can be viewable as a video, unless the livestream is too long for youtube to archive properly. though i actually think this information in the video is also outdated, as i have had a long livestream on a channel before and it stayed up. Im not sure how long is too long.

I feel like I’m swimming against the current.. I get good solid positive engagement.. Most of my engaging viewers keep saying they can’t understand why I’ve not blown up! 🤯 In truth this makes me feel sh!t like I’m letting my viewers down because I just can’t seem to get it right! Damned if I can break the plateau and it ain’t through lack of hard work! 🤷♀️ I would work my @ss off no question another year another two if I knew my turn would come! But the unknown does get in your head especially when you’ve levelled up to the best of your current ability and see other so called mentors say “if you’re not growing your videos must suck” According to those that engage they don’t! But 🤷♀️
If enough people are saying that and it's backed up by good data (watch time, CTR) then IT WILL HAPPEN. Just be patient. And then you'll be saying exactly the same thing to struggling creators this time next year.

I would tell your friend, they shouldn't have done that. Remember, this is a business relationship and if your friend is lying at step one that's not a good sign. Parents/guardians have to sign on behalf of children.
So i have an youtube aritsts page that distrokid automatically makes you when you upload music to streaming platforms. You can go in and get your check mark and make that your main page. I have music with 500k views, 100k views etc. So when i check youtube studio app on my phone, it says I have 10k watch time (hours) in the last 90 days. But when i go in the about section on the same channel from my pc, it only shows a very small number, thats no where near 4k watch time hours. Are these watch time hours two separate things? Do they not count bc it was a automatically generated channel by distrokid , that i claimed later on to make my main channel? Or is youtube late as usual??

Will a copyright strike affect a monetized channel?
It shouldn't do, other than you can't monetize the offending video.

You should make a video on reused content rejections. It’s a recurring issue for a lot of creators and it’s sometimes hard to tell what needs to be corrected. Please!!!

Most of my engaging viewers keep saying they can’t understand why I’ve not blown up! 🤯
In truth this makes me feel sh!t like I’m letting my viewers down because I just can’t seem to get it right!
Damned if I can break the plateau and it ain’t through lack of hard work! 🤷♀️
I would work my @ss off no question another year another two if I knew my turn would come!
But the unknown does get in your head especially when you’ve levelled up to the best of your current ability and see other so called mentors say “if you’re not growing your videos must suck”
According to those that engage they don’t! But 🤷♀️
If enough people are saying that and it's backed up by good data (watch time, CTR) then IT WILL HAPPEN. Just be patient.
And then you'll be saying exactly the same thing to struggling creators this time next year.

I honestly feel deep down that YT decides what videos will get recommended or viewed… no matter how many subs views or likes… I really believe they pick who THEY want to blow up! 🤷🏻♀️

What happens if u are underage but u put as over 18 and then u get asked for a passport picture and RUclips notice the two dates of birth are different what happens then?

I would tell your friend, they shouldn't have done that. Remember, this is a business relationship and if your friend is lying at step one that's not a good sign.
Parents/guardians have to sign on behalf of children.
So i have an youtube aritsts page that distrokid automatically makes you when you upload music to streaming platforms. You can go in and get your check mark and make that your main page. I have music with 500k views, 100k views etc. So when i check youtube studio app on my phone, it says I have 10k watch time (hours) in the last 90 days. But when i go in the about section on the same channel from my pc, it only shows a very small number, thats no where near 4k watch time hours. Are these watch time hours two separate things? Do they not count bc it was a automatically generated channel by distrokid , that i claimed later on to make my main channel? Or is youtube late as usual??
have you got any videos on why a channel would drop from 2k views a day to 25 views?
Only a guess but, you had a short that was performing and then suddenly wasn't?
i don't make shorts, all i can see is that old videos were doing well and then it just stoped.
