Why tf did they delete this? It’s so much more engaging and has a lot of great mixtures of comedy and action.

Because Raya gets that gem shard out of some random well while in final scene it made sense from she knew where it is

@@kitajecafrica5814 Not to mention the fact that they went from running from Namaari to suddenly finding the Gem in one scene which makes it feel like the plot is on fast forward. Honestly, while a lot of the deleted scenes are interesting I think the final film is a superior product with better writing while the original film feels more like Rise of Skywalker with many stupid ideas.
Like take the bridge deleted scene, it starts with Raya lining up her dragon charm to a certain mountain which it just so happens to match. And the brilliantly written dialogue to 2 minor characters yelling "More Your Wagon" at each other for 17 seconds. Not to mention I like how Raya is more cold, distant and cynical in the final film whereas in this version she's more like a standard Disney Protagonist being all awkward and quarky with the only real difference being she's a bit more snarky.
So, yeah, sorry this isn't a Wish situation where the original product is clearly better then what we got as while the action and monsters are more interesting the main character, her supporting cast and the main antagonist are honestly better written and more compelling in the final product.

Hot Take, this is worse then what we got in the final film.
For starters DEAR GOD SLOW DOWN!!! In 2 minutes and 24 seconds, we meet Namaari, have an action scene, get a Gem Piece, Sisu transformers into a human and we escape. There's no room to breath, it's just action, comedy, action, comedy bam, bam, bam with no room to breath and that's how it goes in most of the other deleted scenes.
Also Namaari is a complete joke here, her over the top personality is just annoying and she's thwarted by her cat's wanting to eat fish and even gets slapped in the face by a fish and is yeeted by Tok Tok. In the film proper Raya has to drop several tons of sand on her via booby trap, use explosive bugs to knock her back and ride off a cliff to escape Namaari and her soldiers.
But going back to her personality she reminds me WAAAY to much of King Magnifico from wish who is currently on his way to be one of the worst villains in Disney's history. In the final film Namaari is a badass and ruthless fighter and her relationship with Raya is complex and interesting. In this she comes off more like Kylo Ren, a loser who is no real threat and only capable of screwing things up.
Also, Raya loses a lot of what made her interesting as she comes off like typical Modern Disney Princess just a little more snarky. In the final film Raya is cold, cynical and brooding. Sure there's a bit of humor but she's nothing like Rapunzel, or Mirabel or Asha who were all fairly upbeat and more humorous so Raya is frankly a breath of fresh air. Don't get me wrong I love Rapunzel and Mirabel but Asha really hurt my enjoyment of the quarky princess and Raya does lean a little more in the direction of a typical Disney Protagonist.
Sure the final film isn't perfect but this early cut feels like the bastard child of Wish and Rise of Skywalker while the film we got almost feels more like Mad Max meets Avatar: The Last Airbender and is honestly an interesting deconstruction of the Disney Princesses franchise, even if unintentional.
I mean how many Disney Animated films is set in a post-apocalypse world with an implied same sex romance between the hero and her nemesis?
