It is the topic you are mainly in. Look at it from advertiser view: If a company puts ads on youtube by using Google AdWords, you have to pay different amounts per click or cpm depending on the topic and keywords. So from creator's view that means, that we earn different amounts from Adsense/RUclips, depending on the topic we are covering. For example you will get more from insurance ads then some other topics. Is it possible, that an insucrance ads run on your channel? Sure but if your main topic is insurance.. It is even more possible and will happen more often. Hope that makes sense to you.

Not gona lie I’ve pretty much thought about all of this stuff from before, but what’s great is that you’ve shown real life examples and now that’s what motivates us, as we can see people with lots of following and people without lots of following are making their dreams into reality! Hey Sean, Thanks for another informative video. A small question- I run a vlog channel, and feel that many of the guidelines discussed here are not necessarily applicable to me. For example- A BBQ concentrated channel has a niche to drill into, see what's trending, create videos accordingly, gain views and eventually sell products/get brand deal/ join an affiliate program. Vlog channels, on the other hand, don't have that "product" or "habbit" to focus on, but instead- the focus is on the creators themselves. There's no "trend" when it comes to "ourselves". So how do vloggers apply all the guidelines discussed here? What's the right way to rank in search when... the videos we make aren't necessarily "searchable"? Should we focus on getting our videos on the recommended section, and if so, how? How do vloggers find a product to sell? Would love an input. Thanks, Omry

I did amazon affiliate a few times, people watch my videos and click the links. no one purchases and then after a few months of doing it, amazon cancels my affiliate link. I have over 260 videos, im not sure what i am doing wrong... would love some advice, thank you. p.s. sometimes I would occasionally get a purchase, but would never get the credit for it.

I am still working on growing my RUclips but currently have 2 different income streams through Patreon and my own merch that are advertised on my Instagram and my podcast. This has afforded me the opportunity to upgrade gear to better my podcast and now my RUclips videos!

I make about $20 on Amazon, a few shirts a month(which you have to pay to sell) & the worst part, I hit 1000 subs over 7 months ago with 3 times the watch time, but still not monetized... I have the passion to do tutorials & RUclips, which keeps me driven, but I can see how a lot of people quit... great video, thanks for the advice. Take it easy...

Love these videos Sean. Currently working on building out my RUclips channel in the Travel space (which can be quite competitive) but absolutely love the tips! As a videographer, I've found that even with a small audience, brands still care about quality of content and can often be willing to do partnerships even though I hardly even have 1k subs. So far it's translated into free trips and paid work locally as proof of skill which is great! Just goes to show there's always ways to monetize even with minimal influence :)

Great video as always. One thing tho. I was thinking that the affiliate program did not need an amount of followers in order to qualify. No one that talks about using amazon as an affiliate program for income seems to mention that.
