It's nice to revisit this and remember when I was a small 9 year old with a shitty computer from 2001 getting excited over the new album. To this day I think it's still my favourite album of the entire Lemon Demon discography. Not to say the others aren't good, but this one just has a particular vibe or feeling that has unrivaled charm. Also, I've always loved the ending instrumental. Never found it anywhere else though.
Id argue Spirit Phone is better thematically and from a song writer’s perspective. Dinosaurchestra is a close second, and view monster is super close third imo. I personally just think the song writing is better on the other two
This is one of the best/most creative videos Neil has ever made and it deserves much more notice; not only because it was created for the good and/or just purpose of promoting Lemon Demon's finest album to date, but also because it reflects Neil's ever-growing ability to disseminate sounds/visuals to prove a point well-worth the audience's time.
The fact that Neil had this level of editing in 2008 is really impressive! For 2008 this level of quality was unpresidented! Neil has always been ahead of his time but the fact that this was made in 2008 and feels like it could have been made yesterday is really saying something.
Your music is actually really good Neil - Very unique. It possesses the same enchanting / eerie feel that your videos always have. I think it shows that you are a film maker. Anyways , good luck with this - 'Being a rock star' sounds an awesome track

my view monster vinyl arrived today and i am surprised my mother hasn’t enrolled me into an insane asylum yet.
this is unironically one of the best videos on youtube, i dont know why but it really is
reel
I remember being 12 and getting excited over this album.
I never knew that I needed an abstract distorted music video for every song on this album
i love how view monster doesn't like the album literally named after them
i like how no one new Kaledikiso was playing in the background
im just realizing now neil says "thats like, eight songs so far" meanwhile he only went over seven
2:13 little did 2008 neil know his fanbase was gonna call that song homoerotic
BAHAHAHHAHA
because it is
i love view-monster!!! i've been listening to lots of your music, and by the time i went to listen to the album itself, i realized i had listened to the whole thing already lol
