Thanks for the update! I wish I'd thought things through before getting 17" wheels for my winter all seasons. I'd love to add a set of Brembos to my ST! Ironically picked up a second set of snowflakes this summer anyway.
Yeah, I didn't have any issues with them at the ST Octane Academy a couple weeks ago. My understanding is those cars are just prepped with pad and fluid changes. For autocross I'm sure I'm fine. If I take up lapping/time trials I could do a similar change and maybe throw in lines and titanium shims for good measure. Or TCE Wilwood fronts to fit over the stock rotors. I'd still like to reduce unsprung weight where reasonable.
This is a great idea to check the clearance yourself. Everywhere I look for a big brake kit I want, the suppliers all recommend that I fit 20 mm wheel spacers which cost an extra 200-300! I don't like the idea of having them at all. I might just buy the brake kit and see what I can get away with.
No follow-up needed, not like the spacing is going to change after driving. Since you are skeptical, I drove like this for the better part of 20k miles and then sold the car. It worked perfectly fine.

The Brembos look good, but the stock ST brakes are fine.

Yeah I don't love the idea of 200-300 in spacers since that is 1/3rd the way to a good set of wheels anyway. Good luck on your install.
Any follow up video or video in motion? They’re not scraping at all on the 3mm?

What type of aftermarket wheels clear big brakes without using spacers.
Most 18" aftermarket wheels with a 45mm or lower offset
Did you have any problems on the 5mm spacers doing pulls or fast turns?
Do you by chance have the old ones if so would you be willing to ship them if I bought them off you
