Great install video, but I feel like you guys should have included a short segment to mention that brake fluid is corrosive and can damage painted surfaces--be sure to quickly wash/wipe it off.
if you're changing your brakes and upgrading all the components and DONT already know that, you should NOT be messing with your brakes. you'll kill someone or yourself
1000 dollars for brakes I can literally get the same kit pieced together from rockauto for 450 after cores are returned also there are no new bolts but you can reuse the original ones
Part numbers for the brake lines please. I heard that swapping OEM 4 pot brembos to ST, you need to buy RS brake hoses/line. For rockauto it states “Front Left BRHF154” the other one only states “Front BRHF55” I’m confused and not really wanting to spend 200 for a SS lines
CJ Pony Parts Hi, i have a ford C max 1.6 TDCI Diesel Titanium x with 17" wheel in Turkey. Is there any brembo disc&caliper solution to replace my car's brakes ? If it is exist, what is the part number of these ? BR.
So why not disconnect the flexible brake line from the hard line then the two caliper bracket bolts attached to the knuckles? Less steps and same results.
Unfocused Racing that's what imma do just ordered all the parts on rock auto and even got mazda 5 brackets for rear spent $805 for both front and rea everything.
Brembos from the RS are an upgrade, doubling your piston count and rotor surface area..and they're cheaper. Of course a high end 6 piston kit is going to be even better..but personal experience on a track, even stock ST brake calipers (single piston) with Hawk DTC-60 pads and Motul high temp fluid work great..but theres def no reason not to upgrade. Id say unless you really plan on doing a lot of high speed track days, the Wilwood would be overkill and could spend the money on other stuff. The Brembos would be perfect paired with a dedicated set of track pads and Motul high temp fluid. I have two sets of rotors/pads/wheels/tires, i swap out at the track, then swap my street set up back before leaving the track.
There's nowhere in this installation you would want to use anti seize. In fact you might want to use thread locker on the caliper bolts. When you remove the old bolts you will see some on there from the factory.
Wilwood is better, but more expensive obviously. If money isnt a thing get the wilwoods. Idk if they make superlites for the focus too but you could make the car faster with those
Within allowable deviation, yes. Keep in mind the RS and the ST have the same rear brakes (but the rs rotor is very slightly larger). It's a Ford approved mod. The RS Brembos are not noticeably stronger than the stock ST front brakes from my experience driving them for a few months. It's mostly for looks.
@@VikVaughan this isnt really true, daily driving you may not notice...but if you drive hard on the back roads or especially on a track, the stock ST brakes are TERRIBLE. You have to upgrade pads, and even then the single pistons are not that great, but will work. Its pretty much a given if you drive hard and brake a lot from high speeds (like a track day), you at minimum upgrade pads and swap with high temp fluid. But these provided a significant increase in stopping power and distance with dual pistons and slightly more rotor surface. Of course wider tires also helps with braking performance.
Larry Richelli ST brakes are a direct bolt-on to SEs, so these should logically fit. All 3 Focus models use the same hubs. The dust shields will be a problem though.
@@VikVaughan yeah, if you drive in traffic. Ive literally MELTED a front set of brakes driving the ST beyond its limits and using less than high performance pads....upgraded pads and higher temp fluid will be good for most people..but once you up your speed (usually from a bigger turbo), you NEED better braking. These work good paired with a set of DTC-60 pads and high temp fluid. Its all in how you use the car. Most cars even with FBO and an ethanol tune still never see a track..just street racing and parking lots lol
You can buy the caliper from a dealership unpainted, so it is just a stock silver casting. BRCF-356 and BRCF-354. www.focusst.org/forum/focus-st-brakes/97233-rs-brakes-install-tips-review-comparison.html
Look`s cool, but you ALWAYS have to clean the rust from the hub and measure the hub if is it bend. If You will put new brake disc on bended or rusty hub, disc will bend as well within 100 miles and all that work is lost.
This is seriously my favorite channel right now! I LOVE the ST content!

thank you CJ pony parts I've been waiting a while to see this install done
Yesss! I just grabbed this kit on eBay used for 700 shipped !!
I almost feel like we bought the same kit, except mine was listed as new.
1000 dollars for brakes I can literally get the same kit pieced together from rockauto for 450 after cores are returned also there are no new bolts but you can reuse the original ones
Can you really return your st calipers and still get a core charge returned?
What's the cause of not being able to use the factory 18's, Is it a diameter problem or is it an offset problem?
offset. Snowflake wheels work with 5mm spacers
@@VikVaughan my wheels come out 15 mm more than stock and are 18" can i fit a kit like this?
HA!! I just bough a set of TSW Nurburgrings, how funny. Looks like I know what my next upgrade is. :P
May I ask what size u bought? For stock 18 235/40 tires or larger ones?

Concern about how this swap affects brake bias and electronics like the TCS system. Any available information on this?
It is a factory Ford part off of the Focus RS and will work on the ST without any issues.
Great video
Would the Method 501 Titanium, 17x8 +42mm, work with these?
Method's site says they'll work with the STI Brembos, are they the same size?
Why isn’t the product on cj pony parts

why’d y’all stop selling the kit ?
This may seem like an odd question, but do you know if this kit fit on a 08 s2000? The wheels are 18” volk ce28
no
What is the torque value to intall the calipper?
I believe it's 85ft pounds

To use the "Stock" snowflakes on the ST with this upgrade you have to use a spacer correct?
I plan on doing this in the next month.
I haven't tried the stock wheels but yes you would need a spacer of some sort.
5mm spacer for snowflakes to fit
Great video, could have done without the music.
I’m torn do I get the brembo brakes or get wilwood??? I’m making my car into a rally oriented racing car

The brembo brakes fit whit 18” niche rims?
Wonder if these would fit a 2010 Volvo C30 D5, it's same PCD of 5x108, anyone know?
yes they will fit, but you need to widen de mounting bolt housing for the caliper from 12mm to 13mm
Probably a dumb question but would this conversion fit on the 2013 se?
In theory yes but have never tried and cannot confirm.
No copper crush washers?
Will 35 mm off set fit
Will this fit on 2017 focus as well??
Yes, definitely.
Doesn’t this affects ABS and ESP and all the involved electronic safety systems?
It does not, all factory systems work as intended.
@@cjponyparts Is this compatible with Focus Titanium? 17 inch wheels
Could I retro fit it on an SE?
Yes
Will rota Grid wheels fit
I am not familiar with that wheel so I cannot say for sure.
If wont leak brake fluid, have te brake pedal 2 "down wards ;-), you close that tiny hole
Y all your install videos not including putting on anti seize it such fundamental step

@@VikVaughan Any idea what's the torque spec to tighten rear brake caliper bracket bolts (not caliper pins)?
Would some spacers make the stock rim clear the brembos?
XxMammalxX if you have the stock snowflakes you would need a 5mm spacer.
Killer breaks...mine are like a semi truck trying to stop from 80 mph. Got check for something broken.
which one is better this or Wildwood 6 pistons?
Jobas Garcia These are about half the price of the Wilwood kit.
Wilwood is better, but more expensive obviously. If money isnt a thing get the wilwoods. Idk if they make superlites for the focus too but you could make the car faster with those

I'd check directly with Brembo, they have so many colors.
