They act like she is poor. 7000 Dollars is A LOT of money.
They deal with clients who spend minimum 50,000 to start.
Personally I think wedding gowns are way overpriced.
@@ladyjustice1474 That's an understatement
@@luna-p God bless anyone who can spend that much, but bridal shops have to have at least a dozen other gowns that look like those expensive ones, at a much more affordable price, and still look just as gorgeous and of beautiful quality…
To me, the secret weapon is an amazing seamstress… they can do anything you want to a gown if they have enough talent…even though we should be able to find a dress that has everything we want, but sometimes when we do, it might need a teeny bit of tweaking…😉
As an example, my dream dress was EXACTLY what I wanted (I never thought I would love the ton of work that I had, but it looked amazing in person!) the thing I HATED was the shape of the train… I wanted a round one, but the dress had one that was almost round, until the very end, and then it came to a point… it was almost like the shape of a spade… I still can’t describe it after 22 years🤣
There were also a few little fabric roses at the back, by the waist, and a couple at the ends of the sleeves. Very small, but just didn’t look right and in proportion…
Those talented ladies not only made the train round (easy enough), but replaced the work to perfection, AND, created larger fabric flowers for the back at the waist , along with similar details to the rest of the work on my dress!
God bless the seamstresses!
i cant believe people really buy so expinsive wedding dress
Seriously... I would never spend more than $1000 on a dress that I'll wear one time
I can’t believe they were acting like $7000 budget isn’t enough to have bling 🤦🏻♀️
For the large Swarovski Crystal Pnina overcharged for, it’s not enough. For most designers it’s more than enough.
Right? This was an old episode, maybe the Hailey Paige dresses werent out yet
Exactly what I thought. Since when is $7000 a poor budget?😮💨
Hahaha so true!!!!
@@mommynab honestly, my dress was 600 and has beading everywhere. Front and back
This Gorgeous Bride could have worn Anything and look stunning in it, And she did!. Again, they went way over budget, which is always disturbing to me. When they showed the veil she had already purchased, I loved it. It will go very well with the dress she chose. Absolutely beautiful.
She look great in the dress, but the eye makeup is so disturbing.
She did wear the dress.
It’s not too far over budget. The dress was $7700, and her budget was $7000. She could have spent much more than that.
She asked for bling if she wants bling she’s gonna have to go over the budget, if they brought her something in her budget it wouldn’t have bling and
it wouldn’t be what she was looking for so she would say no
@@leahowlett5525 i mean a budget is a budget for a reason. We dont know how much she could afford and how much people put in /she saved so she had a nice budget. Almost $1000 more is very over buget. $700 is a lot regardless if you are paying several thousand or several hundred
Never tell your actual budget to them, tell them half your budget because anyway they're gonna make you pay double.
Yessssss!!!!!!
Haha
Or they only look for dresses in the higher prie range closer to your budget max 🤦🏽♀️
@@nikkimccary good point. I did not think of this
I work in travel sales and I don't agree to this at all. Telling the budget always helps both sides. A good salesperson never pushes anyone to pay more than they can afford. We only state the facts and let them decide.
I can't believe Randy and Antonella ignored the bride's wishes. That dress was not what she wanted and was over her budget. I wish they wouldn't ask what the family wants to see the bride in. It doesn't matter what they want, it's the bride's day.
...except she fell in love with that dress and liked it more than anything else she tried on. So, maybe they know what they're doing?
Sometimes the pros can tell and just " know" what the bride really wants deep down. They proved that fact. That's their job! If she really didn't like it, she does have the last say.
It’s a TV show, they have to create a storyline and add something dramatic. Otherwise it’ll be boring to watch.
I do agree with you that the bride's wishes should matter most, but it seems like they ask the family so that they can be as efficient as possible. The entourage IS going to give their opinion, it's just a matter of *when* they're going to give it.
If the shopkeepers had no idea what the family liked/disliked, the bride will take all the time to put a dress on just to walk out and hear someone cringe or give it a resounding "NO." With some brides, that could change the feeling of the entire appointment.
At the very least, asking the entourage saves time. At the most, it saves heartbreak.
Sometimes they think they're going to hate it, then they try it on and decide "maybe I don't hate _______"
I loved the bride in the dress she chose but I have one question. How come that Gok manages to make every dress and the bride in it dreamy with the lowest budgets and Randy and David always exceed the budget and come up with just acceptable results. This bride has the dream physique and a huge budget but still the overall result was just there. The consultants could have done wonders here but I guess they just don't put their heart into it like Gok does
They want to sell the most expensive dress that they can. I hated the top, looked like a nightgown, but all Pninas look like that. I know she has fans but I'm not one and I'm far from conservative,
Gok is the best 💛💛💛
Gok's wedding dresses are very pretty, creative, diverse and even unique for some and at a better price. And Gok doesn't go for the more expensive ones and mixes it up.
I think a lot of that has to do with the store. The stores purchase the dresses, and they can only show what's there. Also, this show takes place in Kleinfeld in NYC. Items there are just going to cost more.
Gok has a passion for making females feel beautiful and is respectful of price...
Hum $7000 for a dress that I'm gonna wear once, nope I'm showing up at the supermarket in it, gas station, mall, work 🤣🤣🤣
🤣😂
You know it
Right!
I still wish I could wear my dress again from 22 years ago…. Paid $1100 , but I will LOVE it forever!
Hilarious!!!!! Don't forget the carwash!

What a _goddess!!_ That lace dress really looked special on her! She definitely made the right choice. I'm glad she kept her mind open enough to try something she didn't like. She certainly picked the right dress!
Agreed, this dress is not my style, but it "pops" on her like nothing else. It's like it was made for her!
Just another pinoy
Can't believe they didn't like the third dress. I was completely blown away when I first saw her in it. She was positively glowing, looking like a Greek goddess in that silky smooth dress. And that slit? It was everything. Her mom chose well but why did she give it a 6 tho just why
I agree. I loved the dress with the slit. It was truly unique and she pulled it off.
Her mom didn’t like the slit. The dress is eye-catching and she looked good but once you take a good look at it it kind of resembles a nightgown.
Me too! I said wow out loud!

Because today it really isn't.
@@timewilltell5476 yeah but 8 years ago, when this episode was first aired, it was a lot of money
I thought that was weird too. I guess if the bling is like, Swarovski crystals or something I could understand, but I’m sure there are more affordable ways to add sparkle to a dress. That said, I don’t know a lot about wedding gown pricing.
@@timewilltell5476 this episode is from 2014 .. I think it's a decent amount of money to add more bling
@@renownedbandanawearer1345 the uk version lancashire have more beautiful dress and sometimes cheaper than this and have all the blings.. they don't make it super dramatic or difficult ..so......

I love how she started with “oh I’m shopping here cause my sister said so.” 😂 AND the sisters name is Karen!
The dress that she ended up going with is creative and beautiful. She looked so happy in it!
It was also $700 over budget.
There is no way I would let anyone family or friends to tell me what type of wedding dress to wear!! It's NOT about them!
Sometimes I think they have them ham it up for the show. Creates more drama, lol.
Then do it yourself, don't bring them with you
Then you probably don't deserve friends.
@@laurastuart3814 why?! thats such a random response 😂
Even when she smiles, this bride doesn't look happy. There's sorrow in her eyes.
I could see that too.
Because they bullied her into that final "over her budget" dress...
So you can't have bling even for $7k?? I wonder where Aunty Gok would say 🧐
WHO CARES??? This isn't about MR. Gok Wan, it's Kleinfeld's, it's in the USA, and if you don't like it, don't watch it, or else go to Australia where your idol works!
@@jb6712 Wow! That's some hatred you got. Also racist. But fyi I love syttd. Whether it's US version or any other version. I was just talking about the price point. 7k is a massive budget for a dress, you could get a really beautiful one for much less !!
Agreed! There have to be at least a few in the store that you’re looking in that are similar to the expensive one, at a lower price, and it will look just as beautiful and be of wonder quality
She probably can but not in the style she wants !
You can get a beautiful prom dress for 250
She was willing to spend $6500 on the dress she supposedly loved at the other store, yet something held her back. $7700 is a massive budget, but for her, it didn't seem to be an issue. People have their own budgets for things. She wanted the best dress, and she was willing to pay the extra cash for it. I can't blame anyone for that. She loved the dress in the end, whether it was her initial vision or not.
My wedding dress was around $400 with a little added beading that was done by my mother. I can’t remember what the extra beading cost but obviously not $6100-6600 haha
They put solid fabric behind the sheer torso the second time she put it on. It looked wayyy better. I'm so sick of that trend, especially when it ends abruptly at the waist. The lace pattern was absolutely gorgeous though.
I agree. I don't mind a bit of see-through but when it's the entire bodice it doesn't look so good. My daughter's wedding gown is a Sottero & Midgley and there's a touch of see through at the waist but not the entire bodice so it looks really nice.
@@MLMLW Yeah, anything can work if it's designed right. A lot of times it seems like they come up with a design for a dress and then go, what's popular? and just slap it on as an afterthought.
Glad they did that! It was such a gorgeous dress, but looked unfinished to me ..::
@@luna-p the secret weapon is an amazing seamstress 😉
It’s truly amazing what they can do!
One thing I have learned in life, never refuse a gift. Sometimes people know something about you that you don’t. It is about faith, gratitude and love. Her sister knew there was a dress for her that would be perfect with that veil, and together they found her dream wedding ensemble. And that dress was WAYYY more beautiful than the first one (on her cell phone) and she melted into it.
I’m so glad my mom watches say yes to the dress because one time while we were watching it together and saw a random lady and her daughters making the bride cry she looked at me and told me she would never do this shit to me
I love how the #sayyestothedress community is coming ahead to support Gok so enormously. And it is all even valid.. they have the most stunning dresses I have ever seen in all the other boutiques combined... And they always manage to respect the bride's wishes and stay under her budget.
He also is the only one who points out that a lot of things can be changed. Sometimes going from strapless to a Bardot neckline is all that's needed to make it perfect. And he brings that on. I never heard any of the others say something like that.
Who’s gok?
@IM LIQUID SMOOTH COME TOUCH ME TOO Gok is a person on the other side of this show, truly a wonderful person, works within budget, is good at comforting and consoling the bride, they are a great designer. They do their job with passion instead of just money on their mind.
What is GOK how can I watch it
@yourfavgirl29 there's a couple of his videos here on RUclips, just search "Say Yes to the Dress Gok"
After watching so many episodes... I actually admire how kind these women were to each other. Lovely family ...stay like that forever
The only SYTTD episodes worth watching are the ones from Gok’s boutique. His boutique is magnificently decorated and welcoming. It is a private event. There’s little to no drama. The dresses there are far more beautiful than anything I’ve ever seen from Kleinfeld’s, and lastly, Gok and his assistants always are respectful of the brides wishes and their budget. These some of these Kleinfeld dresses have no business being as pricey as they are. I also don’t understand how they tout their reputation as having the largest selection of bridal dresses in the U.S. but never manage to find the exact criteria of what the bride has listed. I would be irate if they gave me something that I already declared I hate. It’s so disrespectful. Their attitudes are also disrespectful and downright rude. Like, don’t act exasperated when the bride doesn’t like the shxt she said she didn’t but you wasted her time and put her in it anyway…. Not to mention that it was way over budget. These people aren’t interested in giving brides what they want. They just wanna sell what they wanna sell.
Totally agree!!!!!
And I absolutely love Curvy Brides where women over a size 8 are made to feel beautiful and whole. I do not know why Kleinfelds doesn't carry larger sizes, they are obviously available. It is so humiliating for a larger woman.
Also love the Atlanta version. Their number 1 rule is not to go over the bride's budget and they always emphasize that their brides must go home happy with the experience. 😊
Someone already mentioned the Curvy Brides, and then there's SYTTD Ireland. 👍
I will never forget the episode where a bride's dream dress was way overbudget but Gok convinced the owner to mark it down just for her. If she had gone to any other boutique she would've walked out without a dress.
There are a ton of other designers besides Pnina Torne. Why do they always push only her dresses?
Yes why?
In my opinion, that lace dress was UG-LY !
BUT, she would look good in a trash bag if i’m being honest. All in all, she fell in love with it, and at the end of the day it is HER wedding. Happy she found the one.
Side note: not too happy they went over budget,YET AGAIN, but it all worked out i suppose😁!
The final dress looked as if the designer had exactly this bride in mind while planning. An insane fit!
I don’t understand why she didn’t like the last dress that they brought her, that was the most similar to what she loved at the other store. That one looked gorgeous on her. She ended up choosing a $7000 slip with some mermaid cup bling. Ridiculous!
I agree, it looked like it was not finished and see through. The one the mom picked was nice.
She would shine in anything she tried on - beautiful bride!!!
That sales lady seemed like she was getting kind of agro on this family, especially when the sister said they wanted more bling, and the sales lady was like, "for $7000?" I've seen them sell extra blingee dresses to people on a $2000 budget.
I think she was stereotyping.
The dress she left with was so unique and beautiful and complimented her well. The dress reminded me of the sea.
My God!! This bride 👰 is super gorgeous and that dress was the most beautiful jewel to decorate her body. Amazing choice in gown(s)! Stunning!! Great job, SYTTD team.
7000$ is more than what our whole wedding was combined 😂 and they act like she can't have her dream dress on such a "little budget"..lol.
Eye of the beholder and all that. Always happy when the bride is happy no matter if I think the dress is the worse. How the bride feels is all that matters.
I love how she has her eyes done
It's funny that what we don't want to wear normally but somehow magically, we want it for wedding dress 🤣. I was afraid to try blings for my wedding because I felt it was too much but once I tried the dress, it was wow!
Dress stylist here! Always have an out of the box pick, sometimes brides will come in, expect to look a certain way, and leave in tears, if we don't do our job to help them branch out, out of their comfort zone, and show them all their options.
If a bride comes in, wanting satin mermaid. Offer her a lace ball gown after you've got a few picks. It's so important to help them be sure. And I'd say, 7/10 times they choose the dress I pick for them. And it usually isn't what they'd expect. Stylists have to have an open mind.
It's FABULOUS. She is gorgeous, and so is that dress! Awesome job, Randy!
This was so wholesome! And the dress she picked truly looked beautiful on her!
She was beautiful in all the dresses. Moms pick was beautiful!!
Note to self: If I ever get married ( not happening) again, and go to Klienfelds, tell them a lower budget amount, than what my budget actually is...
So glad she got a gorgeous dress in the end, I feel like her sis kind of has a big influence on her decisions and even though she stood her ground for a while of wanting no lace, the dress was a nice compromise because it definitely didn’t look “grandma” like she thought and you can tell she wasn’t just settling under pressure and actually loved it. So happy for her! ✨✨✨😍
I don’t believe she loved the dress she got. Her sister forced her to go to “kleinfeld” to start a tradition that was all. She didn’t say she loved the dress she end up getting, she said she loved the one she originally wanted at a different store. Really disrespectful the sister is.
Well, she wore the dress. I found the picture on her hubby's fb.
Yeah, the bride didn't look at all happy - her smiles seemed very forced - the poor girl.
@@L.Spencer love the detective work 🤣🤣
@@L.Spencer really you even do that?
Glad I don’t have a sister then and only brothers. My brothers would just tell me to get what I want.
I wanted nothing to do with lace, either! I always wanted a beautiful satin ivory with not a lot of other adornment. The thought of lace always made my nose wrinkle.
Of course, it was a lace and beaded dress that I fell in love with. I couldn’t believe it!
I get why they got her to try a lace dress. I went to many wedding dress shops with a style in mind and tried on loads that didn't fit my "vision". The dress I ended up with was as far from what I thought I wanted as it could be and I only tried it on to be polite to the shop assistant as she said it was her favorite. On the hanger I hated it but once I had it on I fell in love.
Idk why but for a moment I felt that the bride's voice was somehow sounded like the Kardashians 😅.. but anyways she's very beautiful amd gorgeous😍❤️
She does resemble Kim. I would even go as far as to say that her sister resembles Kourtney.
Love when the consultant says “It’s so spectacular that you forget it’s lace.” It’s those little comments that fill this show of bits of philosophy and psychology and help make it such an interesting viewing experience. The dress did stand out. So glad she chose it.
That lace dress is unique and so pretty on her.
they always tell you to try on the type of dress you hate first. because you may either like it in the end or you could just get it out of the way to avoid it altogether.
I always feel sorry for the other girls looking at dresses behind them.
The lace dress was really beautiful!
Hey Sanja
The dress that her mother chose made for her I like it
She rock every single dress she put on. She's beautiful.

I loved the one her mum picked
It suited her figure perfectly and was so different
The Bride is gorgeous ! All the dresses looked beautiful on the Bride!
The lace dress is lovely but imo the 2nd dress with the slit was stunning and perfect for her. That slit was doing it, she has great legs.
What's up with everyone wanting bling? Where are the Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy wedding dresses in this world? Simplicity is beautiful.
Yeah, I hate it. I wish they showed more variety instead of the same tired and terrible trends over and over.
There's nothing wrong with that whatsoever. No, simplicity is not the way to go. Hell, I am all about the bling and there is no such thing as too much bling. And besides, who are you to say that a bride can't wear a blingy wedding dress?
Why is she annoyed? at 4:01 when the bride says she would give the dress an 8? Give her the space to share her honest opinions about the dress and what her vision is for her wedding 😰
The dress is beautiful i just cant imagine spending that much. My whole wedding was 7000... it was the cheapest I could personally go lol. My brother just got engaged and they acted like the idea of spending 7k was way over board. I think their in for a huge surprise
Yeah, $7000 for a dress is cray cray. I think I'm going to open a wedding dress store where you rent the outfit, lol. Sort of like prom.
The look on her face when she tried on the 2nd dress after saying she didn't want lace took me back
Her facial expression at the end was well im getting married soon....
I love the consultants' energy.
Weddings gowns and anything bridal, or wedding related is way overpriced.
Depends on where you shop. KLEINFELDS is primo. Too many brides are caught up in the bridal dream trap! Reality hits soon enough after the wedding.
The bride is so beautiful! Looks like a model.
The entourage should not be in control of the dress choosing, They can have opinions but they can't make the bride wear what they want to Wear when they're not getting married themselves.
Exactly
Stupid question: Is it possible to hire a dress for the wedding day? Or is buying it the only option? 🤔 I hired my dress 11 years ago for my wedding. Best decision ever... it was an A- line dress with beads and lace. (I'm from South Africa)
That price point? It is 7000 . Ridiculous. I've seen them have 2000 dresses like that. So dumb.
I love her retro name!! Lucille is a great name!
Apparently she had already found a bling dress she liked a lot...so I guess they dont know some designers DO manage that in her price point.
I literally love this show
She's beautiful and picked the right one!
The beaded dress was the most beautiful one imo
The DRESS IS GORGEOUS!! SHE IS GORGEOUS!!
Based on the title I thought the entourage is horrible and made her try something that she doesn't like.

I heartfully apologize to that supportive family .
She is lucky to somehow pick that dress, it's totally a masterpiece
Bride has a beautiful figure. No wander she looks beautiful in all the dresses she tried on.
Gok's dresses are some how so much more classy and exquisite with the fabric they use. Whereas these gowns always look cheap and tacky
All of the dresses are gorgeous, and she looked stunning in all of them!! Lucky girl to have such an amazing figure… she must work very hard to keep it that way😄👍🏻
That said, I would have gone with #1 or #4… 4 is definitely safer in design, and may I suggest, more traditional in its form? Meaning, silk satin with gorgeous work… not sure if I am making sense…
I must admit, I am a silk satin girl myself 😉 Married 22 years ago, and dresses like # 4 were pretty much in, I guess, and totally my style, though I did not go sleeveless… Plus Eve of Milady has been around a looong time… not sure if they are still going strong .
Her chosen dress is gorgeous, though it looks unfinished to me… would have loved to have seen it in person!
Since these occurred so long ago, I hope she had an amazing wedding!
I agree! I liked #4 so much better. She looked amazing 👏 😍
i love the fact that her mom chose the dress with the slit cuz my Filipina mom also loves it when I wear clothes that show off my figure or wear something quite revealing, obviously there's a line that I can't cross but she just supports whatever clothes I wear skl.
She rocked all the dresses. ❤️❤️❤️
Ummm 7000 you can still get a lot of bling. They're acting like they're real gems

It's a good thing she chose a dress when she did. The saleslady was becoming impatient with her and another no would probably have sent her over the edge.
She's gorgeous! The dress she chose looks beautiful on her. Congratulations ❤
when it comes to dresses.. there's the 1. pretty to look at in mannequin/picture & 2. pretty to look at YOU - the wearer 😂
7000 budget and they still showed her more expensive dresses? Dayum. I get that the material and all get expensive at that price point but at least respect the budget ya.
First of all, the family is supposed to be there to support the bride. Second, an almost hysterical reaction when the bride comes out to show her pick is NOT helpful.
Thirdly, some of the male friends feel like they have the right to curl their noses and say to the bride “No Way” are you wearing that! it’s as if they’re the moral police.
Please tell me what experience a man would have to be able to foresee the brides final vision of HER DRESS for her WEDDING!
It’s the Father of the bride that brings the raw emotion to these shows as he sees his “little girl” has grown up into a full grown beautiful and extraordinary bride.
Perhaps someone should come up with a small book on etiquette for those who are going to be there when the bride chooses her dress!
I am so glad she chose that dress! It is absolutely stunning on her! 😍
If you can't give me a dress around my budget, don't ask me, Randy take note.
