I've been looking into these lehighs fracturing rounds as well can be shot out of sobot or powder coated to fit my gun because it's a weird bore 495 not 510 still interested in them just a lot extra bull crap
Wow awesome buddy thanks for doing the research and most of all sharing it with us guys who want to get into the big bore hunting game. Now just have to get my state to allow deer hunting with these awesome tools
Great video !! It was a backstrap , moonshine and hot sauce kinda weekend lol and definitely a weekend that we won’t forget , can’t wait for deer camp 2021 !!
what a super GREAT hunt!! look at them trophys! it would have nice to be there just to pick you guys brains! i would have cooked and done camp clean-up! you sure can tell you guys spent a lot of range time to know your tools!! a GREAT BIG THUMBS UP !! normally i would have passed up those shots , but now see how those tools work i`m looking more closely and saving. because with practice i can be as good as you guys! great GREAT SUPER GREAT VIDEO!!
Excellent job on the video. Can't wait to get one of these axis hunts that we have done. So far two fat does last week, but there is some huge free range bucks coming through. I told my wife that is next and we need to get it on video. I have the airforce texan lss .457 cf and it took both of them down easily. One at 127 yards and the other at 72 yards. They definitely don't go far.
Very nice hunting guys. Airforce Texan is a very solid platform for powerful hunting tool. Plus modifications by AAO, Lethal Air and of course Mr. Hollowpoint will only add into fun hunting and venison stocking for coming winter. I haven’t got a chance to go out hunting yet and would love to join you guys if I could. And Speaking of venison Chris, I really want to try curry venison recipe. As always great work guys, happy hunting and shoot responsibly.
Best Airgun deer video I’ve seen.. other that mine of course.. 🤣🤣🤣 Seriously, top notch video, congratulations to all and I wish I could have been there.
That is a hell of a shot my friend. You can see how all of that preparation led to that incredible moment. If I wore a hat I would take it off to you right now.
Excellent video Chris! Gotta love the Airforce Texan , a simple yet extremely efficient and effective big bore air rifle platform that I feel is second to none with more than enough power in stock form to make ethical kills on every big game species in the United States and with some simple mods even most African game animals. I love to follow your work and appreciate your dedication to the advancement of this sport. Keep up the good work Chris and stay safe. I'll be looking forward to the next notification for a new video on your channel.
Brother this was a hellovagood video and some amazing shots. The fact that you all had a working Hammer is amazing in and of its self. Those guns are notorious for fails and problems. That’s just wow really. I want to get into big bore airguns but 1000-2000k versus my old 30-30 150$ beater that puts them on the ground for the past 35 years every year...hard call man. Someday maybe. I want it but out of my reach for 1 day a year. I still want it anyway cause I love airguns and shooting them. Maybe when they get the bugs worked out of the more affordable hammer. Awesome shooting. Great video. Congratulations my friend. Epic really!
The price I paid for my air gun I could have seven of your 30-30s for 150 bucks each.. I get it air guns are super overpriced and definitely not as strong as your dirty 30.. keep using what you know
The upfront cost is a bit and a compressor i cast my own rounds for a 417 grain round after the upfront costs of the mold, melting pot only costs me around 16 cents per round can shoot cheap and they are powerful i got a 580cc bottle and medium spring over 800 foot pounds and u can get suppresors for them
Wow my answer popped up just looking at the video of the 50 cal It's not well the slug doesn't look like an actual 50 caliber bullet that you would see from your powder charge 50 caliber rifle with the cartridge but with that being said it's definitely a 50 caliber size slug and now hopefully I can still or catalogs are still available.
very top your hunts, I would like to one day participate in one of them, I am Brazilian and since I was little I enjoy the sport of hunting. They are to be congratulated👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
If you pause the video on Chads doe and Calebs before he flips it over you can see a .50 hole in each. The Lehigh basically tore up the vitals in each deer from the fracturing petals and the core penetration punched through leaving a 1/2 inch hole on the backside.
Great Shot!!!! Do you thing you can have a killer shot like that(160 yards) with the Texan SSL 457??? And if the answere is Yes, wich bullet you will use for the same shot... 525?
Have seen a doe do something similar in Delaware. 12 guage slug, both lungs and heart. Made it to the edge of the woods and dropped. Wonder if that's common for mortally wounded deer/does? Make it to concealment and give up?
Hi Chris...I want to ask what is the optimal setting of the hammer on the Texan 45 LSS carbon fiber?Do you have an NSA 290 grain to 950fps?I have a maximum of 902fps. Thank you for your response.
Anything under 350 grains I go 1/2 turn below maxed out hammer spring, Above 350 grain, I shoot at 3/4 hammer. The valve dynamically stays open from the back pressure with the heavier stuff.
2 large strips of meat right down the middle of the back on each side of the spine from the start of the hips to the base of the neck my 2nd favorite cut of meat 2nd to the tenderloins, at home it’s always tradition to have fresh back straps from the deer harvested that day for dinner
That is a really good question. I think if I were to have taken a shot like this on a large buck or a larger animal, I would use a high penetrating solid and not a hollow point.
UpNorthAirGunner I have debated on one of these in a 35 or 30 but I can’t find anything about a 30/35 getting big deer. 50 I know can but I’m not sure the max range.
UpNorthAirGunner can you please send me a link to that tank you are tethered to? What size and which regulator? Anywhere specific you would recommend buying it from? Can’t seem to get my airforce Texan carbine dialed in, hard to recharge after each shot.
