FTC | thank you Skillshare for sponsoring this video!
ur cat is giving serious opinions too btw lol
My hyperhidrosis and I are very excited for this video!!! THANK YOOOU
I leave a pack of the Pacifica deodorant wipes in my car for when I’m out and anxious. I haven’t found a good deodorant that won’t melt in my car. I like to tear off little pieces and use it to freshen up a bit, but I agree that it’s overpriced and bad for the environment!
I have hyperhidrosis too and love native.
its not cruelty free but botox in ma pits changed my hyperhidrosis life
Laura Prince I had Botox in my hands 3x then built up a resistance. My last Botox round lasted3 weeks.
Christina Carrier same!!
Schmidt’s jar deodorant is great and so eco friendly!! Once you’ve used five jars you can send them back to Schmidt’s to reuse. Then they send you a new jar for free!! Also if you haven’t tried Boodahs Butter deodorant I highly recommend!! It goes on super smooth and it smells like chocolate coconuts lol
Kendall Constance have you tried meow meow tweet?
Oh girl im so cheap. I bought the walmart brand of the toms deoderant like 4 months ago... and i stink every single day. Lmao.
Same as hell dude. The equate lavender one!
Schmidt’s. More bang for the price. Sensitive has mag instead of bicarb
That's so weird, everyone says toms doesn't work for them but it's been so nice for me
It works great for me 😂
Update: they have Schmidt's at Walmart now for 4.99 and it's really good! Long lasting and smells great
I wanted to mention the crystal rock is just a different form of aluminum.
lpetmcd is it really? Is it as bad for you as the aluminum in antiperspirants?
It is an alum but it does not work or is absorb the same way.
the rock is basically mineral salt, it does NOT block your sweatglands wich is the main problem with type of alumnium they use in antiperspirant, thats what clog your lymph nodes and can potentially be "dangerous"
The mineral salt, basically just eliminates bacteria but you will sweat just the same, no lymph nodes clogged.
Where is Native??? Native is the BEST cruelty free and aluminum free deodorant and like the ONLY ONE that works for me! And they have so many great scents too!
Sarah Schouveller YEEEES, I can’t stress this enough, it’s divine! They smell beautiful, last a very long time, and are easy to apply.
Sarah Schouveller I was thinking the same thing!
that one gets on my shirts and gunks up for me if I go with a tank. I wish it worked for me because I feel like it does work smell wise!
Def agree!
Native is at Walmart Target and Walgreens and you could go to their website
This is the vegan-with-hyperhydrosis' dream video
Me: does uni homework while watching a video from Sarah talking about deodorant for 25 mins
I was surprised you didn’t include Lush. Especially with there eco friendly packaging of no packaging. I’ve been wanting to try the one they only sell in the UK with sunflowers in it (love sunflower scent).
I love Aromaco (: works really well for me
Lush isn’t very accessible for a lot of people, if they don’t order deodorant online. I don’t have a lush less than an hour from me.. 🤷🏼♀️
I use silky underwear to top my deordant
The package free one that they sell in the US is trash!!! Barely did anything at all
@@nicholecalandrelle4747 she had two brands in her video that were online-only, no reason then that Lush couldn't have been included.
The only issue I had with Schmidts is that it gummed up in my shirt. I am not sure if all of them do that but the Rose Vanilla one did.
I had issues with that exact one, but not all of them do that. Now I use the ones for sensitive skin and I love them. They are so much more smooth
Yeah same here but the Rose Vanilla smells so goooood
rose vanilla did that for me too!!!! even when i washed my shirts, there's a huge stain, as if it's an oil stain. and other shirts that are more tight in the armpit area totally got all waxy/gummed up
Thank you for mentioning your issues with the Rose Vanilla scent. I probably would've bought that scent otherwise.
Jessica R It bummed me out because it does smell so good. I am going to try a couple of the other Schmidt deodorants and see if they are different.
Have you tried that Lume stuff I keep seeing adds for?
literally got three of their ads on this video lol
Schmitts is the BEST deodorant I've ever tried. Even out of natural and regular. It's gluten-free, smells good (scent doesn't last), but does keep me scent free. Literally.scent.free. I wore it for 20 hrs straight, no touch up and smelled like NOTHING by the end of the day.
i just got the lush patchuli deoderant bar and i ws shocked but it really does work, tho you best like that smell lol, also they have a powder ones the silky underwear (the name of one) smells lovely, and a packed baking soda bar as well Teo. their not terribly expensive either
Silky Underwear is a dusting powder, not a deodorant! However, if it works for you, that would be cool, lol.
@@thelittlronan I work in Lush and the dusting powder and powder deodorant base is basically the same, I'd suggest asking for a sample of aromaco or the powder deodorants and give them a go
I love how thorough you are with this review haha. Like a 25 minute video of Sarah talking about natural deodorants? Heeell yeah !!
I was a little surprised to not see native deodorant! Native deodorant is the only natural deodorant I've tried but boy is it good. I pick it up at walmart and it's around $11. But deodorants usually stop working for me at some point of using it for so long so I'll definitely try one of these in the future
Can you do this with zero waste ones??
Did you not try any of the lush products? Would love to see a review of them
Lush products are not for sensitive skin. They all have artificial fragrances last time I checked. :(
@@kathleenpackard5542 they are not really irritating! the "perfume" or "artificial fragrance" in the ingredient list is mostly a combination of essential oil which due to the mixing process than have to be called perfume. I recommend just asking for a sample since you can get any non solid product as a sample !
@@ennabananaz5861 I personally have found a lot of their products both irritating to my skin and over scented which can make my allergies flare. It is a shame because I otherwise love the concepts. I have super sensitive skin.
blumenkind do you have a full ingredient list for the fragrance from the manufacturer? Not sure who told you this... seems bogus
blumenkind essential oils are absolutely an irritant to sensitive skin..
I really like that lip color on you! Thanks for the informative video.
Type A Deodorant works great for me. I have tried SOOO many. This one even holds up through 90 minute Orange Theory workouts.
As a fellow sweaty person (and Floridian) I greatly appreciate this video lol
I tried Schmidt’s and the scent I used was lavender. I have sensitive skin and it peeled my underarm skin and turned it BLACK. Beware :( patch test first!!! I have no allergies to anything but that messed me up bad. It gave me a strange scent and made my skin feel raw. Like so people can see!!!
Schmidt’s fucked my bf and I up! Lol. We had the worst most painful rash. Lavanila eventually did the same too! So far the best I’ve found is Dove 0% aluminum! 💘
jackievongrimm the Schmidt’s gave me weird ass bumps and my friend had the same experience!! I don’t use antiperspirants so honestly I just put my rose oil just under my pits and it works wonders
Schmidt’s gave me a very painful red rash 😞
Did you try Native deodorant? It works AMAZINGLY. And only $10 with a subscription and free shipping. Also available at Target for $12. I live in South Florida in the intense heat and humidity, and I NEVER have odor. And I use unscented. I can even apply it after getting odor and it just goes away. Applies just like regular deodorant too...
this!! i have found that so many cf deos are too harsh for me (i have eczema that hates baking soda) and native not only works but it doesn't irritate my skin 😍😍
@@emilyletter5863 It's great!
I sure loved using it until my skin got really sensitive to it! It smells amazing and applied great:) my skin is terribly sensitive so most things eventually hurt it
Sweetgirly do you realize how expensive that is for deodorant 😂
Adeline Baumbach it is definitely worth the high cost! I have been using it and it smells great and works great. I highly recommend it to anyone.
Thinking about making a spreadsheet is ME!!! I’m glad someone else is also very extra thank you for making me feel better 😂
can you do another review on Native, Lush, Hippie Pits, and Earth Mama?
Mila Djordjevic I’ve been using Hippy Pits for over 2 years now and I love it!! I was hoping to see more people talk about it. I also use Native and Primal Pit Paste. I have found that HP is the best for me personally 🙃
I tried Earth Mama's Bright Citrus and I found it to be super effective and I love the scent. I have sensitive skin and it didn't cause any problems. The only issues I had with it was that I ran out of it very quickly (applying my usual amount) and I found the formula to be fairly crumbly around the edges of the stick.
i really hate Schmidt’s :( it stains my white blouses. it does control odor tho but ruins clothes
Thank you sm for this. I’ve been thinking about buying some cruelty free deodorants.
I really liked the Schmidt’s deodorant until I realized that it was leaving a weird film under my arms that I had to scrub really hard to remove. Not worth it and very strange
I hated Schmidts it was so sandy and chunky texture wise. it left yellow marks on my tops
I never understood how rubbing a rock of on ur pits was supposed to make u not smell lol. Not surprised the crystal brand didn’t get high marks
How about a DIY video on body products/cleaning products and then putting them to the test 😄 even if you don't know how to make them we can learn together 😆
YOOOO, YOU'RE A
REAL ONE!!! This is so helpful!!!! ⭐⭐⭐
So happy to finally have this video! Thank you for doing this!
I bought the Schmidt Bergamot and Lime deoderant ages ago and loved the scent, but I am unfortunately one of those that gets horrible rashes with the baking soda. I used it up entirely and never got used to it like some people said I would. It did work, but I felt like half way through the day it would pretty much disappear apart from the baking soda (which had absorbed the odor and hung onto it, so I smelled again, almost worse than before) so I'd have to wash and reapply.
Have you tried the sensitive formula?
I use Schmidt's Charcoal & Magnesium - any of the Schmidt's applies better if you warm it up with a hair dryer a little before use.
omg sarah i've been waiting for this video for so long!!!! im excited
I’ve tried Tom’s, Schmidt’s, and native. I have the opposite opinion lol. I love Tom’s and feel like it works very well for me. I felt like it has a strong smell that last all day. I’m not a fan of Schmidt’s I had the rose one you have to let it heat up a little and then use it. I feel like it applies too thick and mushy (I also had to reapply after a couple hours). I live in Cali so in summer it gets over 100 degrees so I won’t be able to control the deodorant on how melted it is. Native works well I’ve noticed that all I need is 2 swipes of it and I’m good to go
Have you tried Lume deodorant yet? I guess it’s pretty new. I’d love to know your opinion since you’ve used a bunch of them.
As a fellow sweaty lady I’ve been waiting for this video since you mentioned wanting to make it. Thank you! 🙌
Schmidt’s is great! However, it’s SO MUCH CHEAPER at Walmart than any other place at lEast for me and where I live. It’s no joke half the price at Walmart than it is at Urban Outfitters.
deodorant is the only thing I can't buy cruelty free because I've tried multiple brands and they all give me a terrible rash...
Or don’t work
It might be baking soda causing the rash. It's the most common irritant in natural deodorants. Look for ones that use magnesium or arrowroot instead. (i've found that Kaiame Naturals works pretty well for me, you can find it on amazon)
I agreed with this until I tried Dove 0% aluminum! If you feel risky, it’s the best I’ve tried yet (I’ve used Schmidt’s, lavanila, and native which all broke me out).
@@jackiejenson dove test on animals...
@@hannahmonflippt10 pretty sure they recently stopped with the animal testing
Toms fragrance free works fine for me but I don't have hyperhidrosis or anything. Toms goes on sale with target cartwheel sometimes too.
My favorite deodorant is Athena's home novelties Crystal Deodorant spray 8 full ounces 100% pure natural cruelty-free vegan!!!!! I work in over a hundred degree weather (in summer) in a factory and this is the most amazing deodorant ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do not smell at all no bad Bo and my armpits are not sweaty and you can uses on other body parts to cuz it's all natural amazing. 👍
The only other one I was wondering about is the Kopari coconut one.
(The crystal rock one is the worssssssssstttttttttttt)
Using the rest of my Tom’s deodorant before I get myro refills. They just reformulated AND got a new case that they’re going to send out to everyone next refill. They also are including a prepaid, pre-addressed envelope to ship back the old case so they can recycle it properly!
I tried Schmidt’s and didn’t like it. It has an exfoliant in it and you have to let it kinda melt before you use it but I never had time to let it melt and it would just rub the skin off my arm pits.
You should try Fortune Cookie Soap's deodorant. It's amazing.
Yes!! FCS has awesome deodorants😍
FYI I love the Crystal one, been using it for years. It's crazy how different everyone's bodies are.
I've been using Certain Dri since you recommend it years ago and it is cruelty free! It still has the aluminum even though they have been reformulated to be not as irritating, but I'm ok with aluminum. It has helped me so much! Great video!
Yes!!! That's by far my favorite deodorant that I've tried, but I am still tempted to try more accessible deodorants, because I have to buy my Certain Dri online.
My favorites are from The Body Shop 😊 I have Strawberry and Black Musk, but Aloe is really good too if you have sensitive skin!
I’m not even vegan or too concerned about what deodorants I buy and I still watched this entire video. I think that means you’ve become a fav of mine??? I don’t know it was interesting though haha.
Sorry to bother but why not?
You don't think lives of animals are more important than your tastes orrr...?
Enjoyed your commentary; definitely interested in more of your content .
Schmidt's for me is irritating, Lume is too creamy; and doesn't have the best scent .
Native however has a nice scent; but is just a lil rough . Thanks to your video, I now want to try: Jason, Myro & Moody Sisters .
Schmidt’s and Native are my go to! I LOVE the Schmidt’s pod. Great review!
@M T I was having trouble with Schmidt's recently too, which is why I ventured into Native. They sell it at Walmart so I didn't have to get it online, which is great. I still like the Schmidt's pot, but right now I reach for Native. I like that it glides right on, much smoother than Schmidt's stick, imo.
You should give by Humankind’s eucalyptus deodorant a try!
Schmidt's is my absolute favorite, but I'm one of the unlucky ones who can't use the regular formula. It causes more than just a rash for me. My pits get red and straight up RAW. I have been using the sensitive skin formula for about 2 years and a have zero issues with it, thank goodness.
I found the same thing happened to me, but I definitely might try the sensitive skin one!!
Honestly this was so helpful, thank you. Would love to see this with cruelty-free (and preferably vegan) TOOTHPASTE! On the hunt for that next.
I have the Toms one it’s really good there’s even a strawberry one it’s for kids tho but I almost bought it lol
Crystal deodorant was the first deodorant my mom ever got me when I was growing up ... i also thought is was very odd to use and I was like 12 so i just didn’t stick with it
I can't use the commercial deodorants everyone else uses bc they really really irritate my armpits. I end up scratching my armpits till they bleed. LOL gross I know. But I'm quite keen on the Equate Lavender deodorant. I don't really sweat that much on my armpits and it helps that I also don't have armpit hair. Idk why I just don't 😭 I'm sorry. But every armpit is different and I'm glad I found something that works for me
Love Schmidt’s it’s my favorite and smells amazing
I would try primal pit paste, It's the best! I have sensitive skin, so any natural deodorant with baking soda would give me a rash. But if i used ones without baking soda my armpits would just get too smelly and wet cause i also have hyperhidrosis. Primal pit paste has baking soda free ones that actually work.
schmidts is only 5.99 at my local target
Too bad you didn't try the Alaffia coconut reishi! it's the only natural deodorant I've ever tried (and I've tried them all) that actually does what it says! I'm pretty damn ripe too. The Alaffia works because they add the enzyme Sacchromyces. I bought it at Tj Maxx originally but they sell it at my co-op and at whole foods!
I used to LOVE schmidt’s then after a year of use, I broke out in a rash :(
thank you for this because I’ve been struggling since!
EmilyWithLovex That baking soda is really the enemy.
send them an email that it gave you a rash. they’ll send you a free sensitive skin deodorant!
Ana Estevez oh really??? I had no idea! thank you!
They have sensitive skin deodorants in the most amazing scents. I dont know if you live near a tjmaxx, Burlington, or Marshall's, but they're almost always in there for like 4.99. They have scents like jasmine green tea, geranium flower, pineapple coconut, tea tree oil....my point is tons of scents and baking soda free. I've used tons of natural deodorants before realizing that baking soda was a MAJOR problem for me but between the schmidt's sensitive skin, and the native I've gone 2 years without any kind of rash or staining of the armpit on clothing (especially on white shirts) hopefully this helps you out. 😁👍🏾. Good luck on your natural deodorant search.
BlackGirl Magic yep! I contacted them directly & I have a free deodorant on my way to my house!
I work at Whole Foods in the body care department, so I have tried a lot of natural deodorants and my favorite so far is the primal pit paste in charcoal magnesium. It doesn’t have baking soda which can be irritating for some people and it really sucks up the sweat for me and I am a sweaty ass bitch. However, the only thing I don’t dig is that it is in a plastic container; the other formulas have options for a glass jar…not sure if it's just the store I work in. 10/10 recommend.
I use the generic version of the Tom's deodorant from Walmart and it works great for me. It was the first natural deodorant I tried and it works great. Before I switched to it I went a week without deodorant to "detox" from my old aluminum deodorant (degree). I recommend using hand sanitizer throughout the day while you're detoxing. It kills the smelly bacteria under your arms for the meantime.
for anyone who needs it, try checking out Bears Beauty on Etsy. i’ve been using her original deodorant (can’t rememberer the exact name atm), and i really love it. it’s all natural, and no baking soda if i remember correctly. i’ve been using it since january and i’ve had no problems with it. it’s a bit expensive, but it lasts so long that i don’t really mind the cost. i’ve been using the same stick since january and it’s just now about to run out. every other deodorant i’ve used either stopped working after a few weeks/months, or eventually gave me a rash (lush), so this one still working after 6/7 months makes me really happy about it
Ive been using nuud and its honestly the craziest game changer i dont smell literally ever and it lasts for 3 👏🏻whole 👏🏻days like i rlly just wanna tell everyone about it 😂
Genevieve B. oooh i really want to try it
Thank you for this!!!!! I’ve just been stinky trying to find the best ones 😭
There's a special place in heaven for you, you absolute angel. I'll be trying these out 💕
Have you tried the Native yet?
The only one I’ve ever gotten to work for me is “Fat and the Moon’s Sensitive Pit” deodorant. It’s literally double stocked in my house.
Try lume deodorant
Why am I watching this video? We don't even have these deodorants in germany! But this is so interesting and I want to pay more attention to that now!
U didn’t even do Lume
Would love to see a part two with the LUSH deos, earth mama, smarty pits, Kopari, etc.
Can you try lumē?
Schimdts is the BESSSSSSTTTTTT❤️💪🏽 as a zookeeper in South FL I sweat...A LOT lol. I spend my days outside in the heat and humidity and Schimdts has worked the best for me👍🏽
My hippie parents always used the crystal and I was so confused.
try love beauty and planet! they are vegan, aluminum-free, and run for around $7-8. very accessible and it's sold at target and walmart!!
I use Schmidt’s deodorant and my biggest problem with it is that it yellows my clothes so badly that I can’t wear light colored shirts with ruining them :(
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! ☆ I've recently switch over to cruelty free beauty products and deodorant is the one thing I've been nervous about switching when the time comes. This video came at a perfect time! 😁
Such a useful video! ❤ i love the schmidts bergamot and lime and it works for odor for me but i found that i sweat a LOT more than normal with it lol (maybe thats just because its aluminum free) - it sucked because i was getting sweat stains on my favorite white shirts :/
do you still use certain dri for you hyperhydrosis? I have it too on my underarms and was considering purchasing it but is it safe and is it vegan? I'm doing my research but I wanted to know if you have any updates??
I care (a good amount) about the eco friendliness of a deodorant. Little seed farm is really cool. The ones that I like are creams in glass jars. They’re available online but I find them at my local grocery store
i've been really curious about Kopari! have you tried it?
although Schmidt’s is accessible and good at preventing smell it’s a grainy formula that builds up on the armpit area of clothes and looks weird presentation wise. Idk if that matters to everyone but that’s why I stopped using it
I love Aromaco from Lush, curelty free, no packaging, smells great and works.
Crystal deodorants are meant to be applied when you get out of the shower. They work by tiny pieces of the crystal clothing the pores in your armpit.
I've just been using Tom's of Maine for the past year or so. Just because it was literally the only cruelty free deodorant in the Walmarts and Publixes in my area. It works well enough for me. But I really appreciate this video! I can't wait to try out some more options.
primal pit paste is my favorite. I use the jars. The bar from them doesn't work nearly as well imo.
OH MY GOD IT'S HAPPENING
EVERYBODY STAY CALM
EVERYBODY STAY FUCKING CALM
i use the schmidts bergamot and lime.. love it!
I used Rituals antiperspirant until I found out about the aluminium. Did some research and landed on the Schmidt's and haven't felt the need to try a different brand since! I've only tried two of their sensitive skin formula so far, because I was scared about the rashes from the original...but maybe now I'll try and venture into those since they have a lot more options when it comes to the scent. I can't find them in my country though, so I've paid like $20+ to be shipped from the US or even Australia >< oops
for anyone with sensitive skin: avoid YesTo and Schmidt's deodorants, Dove is now cruelty free and it super gentle
Is it cruelty free? I loved the Schmidt's especially the rose one bit I got the worst rash. I will check Dove.
Estefania Arteta yeah!! dove just recently got PETA approved as cruelty free!! it's so great!
I googled it and a lot of blogs explain dove isn't actually cf :// they still sell in china where they are subject to post market testing unfortunately it's just a marketing tactic
@@collinpizzo986 Peta themselves are a garbage organisation and don't care about animals at all so im skeptical about anything that is PETA approved.
Anita Borozan oh dont get me wrong peta does some awful things. but they do provide really good resources and i do trust their verifications on brands. don't approve of a lot of their other tactics but that is one thing i think they get right
Schmidt's gave me a really bad rash and i tried different scents and they all gave me a rash. but it work really good
I love the Schmidt's but I get the rash which is Soo sad :( I still haven't found a natural deodorant that works for me
Estefania Arteta try the ones for sensitive skin. They are so good, so much better than the regular ones because they are so smooth to apply
Try Love Beauty and Planet, I’m sensitive too and it works well for me
Some people may think it's weird to review deodorant, but I've been struggling with finding the right deodorant ever since puberty and having someone else's opinion on it helps A LOT. I think I'll try Schmidt's, I've seen so many ads and I think I want the rose one since other products I use (my sugar scrub and my lotion) are rose scented.
I love the salt crystal deodorant as a primer. I also have hyper hydrosis, if your pits are sweaty and you use the crystal dry it’ll absorb the sweat and dry your underarms.
Schmidt’s is the best! I bought it on a whim and fell in love
Just order from moody sisters! The orange one was sold out so I got the lavender one!
Here’s hoping that it works! 🤞🤞
Nothing works for me.... 🤷🏻♀️
Thank you for this video! 🙋🏻♀️
Zoe K hi! Well it actually didn’t worked for me, but little does anyway 😅
Had to go to the dermatologist for a prescription antiperspirant.
