- The Queen welcomed the First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, her official residence during her stay in Edinburgh.
The two joked about the nice weather in Edinburgh before sitting down to enjoy a private chat.
The Queen will later host a garden party at the palace as part of 'Royal Week'.
Each year, The Queen spends a week visiting various places in Scotland, and celebrating Scottish culture, achievement and community.

She has on average of around 300 engagements a year and that hasn't changed once in the past 50+ years, even into her 90s. She truly is a remarkable woman and role model

I love that she is so active at 93. Not many can say they are. I unfortunately lost my grandmother at 93 February 23, 2020. I’m not British but I do keep up with the UK. I wish her many more years of health during her reign. #longlivethequeen
I fear for this world after we lose our defenders of our way of life. There is nobody to replace these giants who protected us during 2 world wars. There is nobody with this kind of strength of character with a firm hand. This Queen drove and repaired trucks during WW2. She is a gift to modern society.
