    Ditch the 22's and get some sticky tires, done. Great video! I have a 22 rcsb 4x4 on order and VAS+whipple planned. I can't believe this truck is going to be quicker than my 700whp 08 vmp tvs GT500, lol! Get a high stall Circle D converter in her and you're talking stupid ET's

    Few years back I was all about buying a truck for towing my travel trailer! Well I went with a 2012 f150 Ecoboost! Now don't get me wrong it has its own lane it's in but man I beat myself up all the time for getting an Ecoboost over a coyote truck just simply the reliability from the Coyote and the power they make safely with a blower! I still love my Ecoboost though! Haha awesome build Ken!

    • @SpeedAddict731
      @SpeedAddict731  2 года назад

      Thank you. I have a 20 3.5 ecoboost crew cab F150 and it does great towing. I wouldn’t mind picking up a coyote single cab one day to play with!

    • @PureTruth1970
      @PureTruth1970 2 года назад

      Yeah I have around 17,000 miles towing my travel trailer with my Ecoboost! My wife and I live a little north of Knoxville, TN and we went and explored the West side of the country and racked up alot of miles and really the only problem was the small fitting that screws on to the turbo where the coolant line connects to the turbo the small o ring inside of the fitting warn away and allowed coolant to leak! Which I'm sure you have probably replaced a sh*t ton of those!

    Great video planning on doing a new F150 myself. But waiting to see when they can tune these trucks. I was leaning towards Whipple but now thinking about the Aldo weld twins. I really want Darrel to tune my truck so it’s a waiting game now.

    This truck is awesome. Does anyone make a small super charger set up for the F150 coyote? Im in Colorado and it would be nice to regain the horsepower lost by the high altitude for towing. When I drive down to Texas it takes me a few minutes to relearn the gas pedal and quit spinning the tires. 😀 The coyote makes so much more power at lower altitude.

    • @guthrie_1
      @guthrie_1 Год назад

      You do not want a supercharger for towing. The thing is always going to be making boost. You’re going to be pulling a trailer uphill making 10 psi at 2,500 rpm and by by connecting rods.
      If you want forced induction, and still tow reliably go with turbos.

    • @lucasmullins5100
      @lucasmullins5100 Год назад +1

      Or get a pro charger or Vortech so at 2500 it has 3 pounds of boost so making a little more than stock. If anything Turbos when done correctly will make more boost lower

    Tell the owner to dump the 22" and 305's. Those are slowing it down a lot!!!. 18" wheels with a 285/45 would drop it into 1.6 60ft, ans 10.9@122 to 123 mph.

    • @dustingre8
      @dustingre8 2 года назад

      I’ve got an f250 I’m considering selling to build an f150, I just don’t know what route to take.

    • @guthrie_1
      @guthrie_1 Год назад +1

      @@dustingre8 Sell it, buy an F150 bring to a reputable shop and boost it. Or do it yourself. What exactly is holding you back?
      Just figure out if you a centrifugal or positive displacement supercharger? Centrifugal will make a ton of power up top. Positive displacement will give you a huge low end punch and pull like a mofo the whole time.
      Like most people, it’s going to be your budget that determines what you go with. The centrifugal’s tend to be cheaper and more simple. That can be attractive to someone strapped for cash.

    • @dustingre8
      @dustingre8 Год назад

      @@guthrie_1 Well for one, this market is insane. My loaded f250 fluctuates up and down so much in value I haven’t been able to find a buyer…and also because I’ve already done a 5.0 10r80 build in a mustang and I went top Mount SC…thinking if I do it again I go turbo. F150s are insane expensive and hard to find too, which doesn’t help either.

    • @guthrie_1
      @guthrie_1 Год назад

      @@dustingre8 Oh well if you already have the mustang i wouldn’t even mess with the F150 but that’s only my opinion.
      If you’re set on the idea then here’s the easy route. Trade in the F250 for a used gen 2 or gen 3 coyote F150. After the trade in, you should owe very little on the F150. Then do whatever is in your budget. For $8,000 you can get a good centrifugal blower, and fuel system. Or spend a few extra grand and go positive displacement, and have a powerband very similar to your mustang.

    • @dustingre8
      @dustingre8 Год назад

      @@guthrie_1 If I traded my f250 in id lose my ass. It’s worth way more than a regular cab gas truck. I also don’t want one newer than a 2020 because of the locked ECU. My plan was to sell the f250, buy an f150 with cash and have plenty left over for boost & suspension. I just have to wait till it’s not $5 a gallon $ people start buying diesels again.

      The trans is not remotely stressed at this power level. It’s a whipple tune which is conservative. He’s probably making 600ish whp
      He’s relatively safe up till 800 whp. That’s when the 10R80 starts protesting.
