The lady who sang "wah wah", her name is tuva semmingson, a classically trained singer in her own right, she sings everything from opera to standards to pop. A diva of the 1st class. If you look closely, for this concert she was wearing little six shooter earrings. PERFECT!!! Yes, there is also a hanging dummy ... if you watch the movie, you'll get the connection.
I watched an interview with the two vocalists.Tuva Semmingsen AKA the Wa Wa Lady, as she has been called by the tube, actually likes being called the Wa Wa Lady. She couldn't believe how this performance took off on the tube. Christine Nonbo Andersen is the solo vocalist in the audience. This was her first performance with the Danish National Orchestra. Both ladies nailed their performances and added a stunning element to this Ennio Morricone masterpiece.
Ennio Morricone was a composer of film soundtracks, where he used instruments and objects that are not normally used in an orchestral ensemble. Electric guitars, basses, ocarinas, bongos ... but also whips, gunshots, gusts of wind. Entering Morricone's work is a complete immersion.
A moving tribute for fidelity down to the smallest details is what the Spaghetti Werstern Orchestra did to him.
This is the theme song of the movie with the same title and of course, made Clint Eastwood ... Clint Eastwood.

You definitely get points for recognizing a recorder & an ocarina. However, terms like "re-create", "close" & "accurate" suggest that this wonderful orchestra did something other than play the music as written or that it's a surprise the Danes were up to the task. This was a phenomenal but straightforward performance of the music as written by the genius Mr. Morricone. But with a little fun thrown in - the hanging man, Clint's photo & (did you notice?) the pistol earrings on mezzosoprano Tuva Semmingsen? The truly amazing thing is that one man heard all of that - every sound - in his head & wrote it down.

He’s playing an oboe and they are hard to play and sustain notes as it takes a lot of air blowing through a teeny tiny reed. This guy is awesome at it though and makes it look easy! My favorite percussion instrument in band when I was in junior high school and high school were the chimes (the guy playing the metal pipes with the mallets/hammers.❤

6:00 I believe this instrument is English Horn. It looks similar but larger than Oboe. Someone who plays reed instruments could correct me if I'm wrong.
This video is from a concert where they played Ennio Morricone's movie music. Themes from movies like "Once Upon Time In the West", etc.
Director Sergio Leone and his friend, composer Ennio Morricone pretty much re-defined the western movie genre in late 1960's with the "Dollars trilogy", ("The Good, the Bad and the Ugly", "A Fistful of Dollars", "A Few Dollars More". They gave us the definition of what a western film is supposed to look and sound like.

Ennio Morriconne not only wrote this music, he also performed it with an orchestra, opera singers etc just like the Danes we just experienced.
I recommend you experience the original on U Tube , conducted by Ennio himself.
There are 2 different movies that vie for the titles of best / greatest Western ever made, and best / greatest movie ever made.
Both were made by Sergio Leonnie, and featured the music by Ennio Morriconne.
I have read that for one of these movies, the music was composed and recorded first.......then the movie was made around the music.
( not saying this is true, just something i have read ).
First we have The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, starring Eli Wallach, Lee Van Cleef and Clint Eastwood as well as Ennio and Sergio.
Then came Once Upon A Time In The West, starring Charles Bronson, Jason Robards, Claudia Cardinale in her best ever performance, Woody Strode, Jack Elam, Keenan Wynn and another famous American superstar who thought he was retired .
Sergio Leonnie knew better, and asked the retired SUPERSTAR to make one more movie.
This always "GOOD GUY" Superstar was asked to play EVIL personified, and it worked.
Sergio was right and gave the superstar a 2nd career.
To not watch these 2 movies, is like refusing ice cream, chocolate and sex with your own dream girl.

This was just a part of something like a 90 minute long "movie music" concert. Many of the other movie music others have referenced were done in the same concert. There is an orchestra concert series on the web and you can sign up and watch the entire concert (and hundreds of other concerts by most of the major orchestras in the world).
I understand that they redid this entire concert 2 or 3 years ago (no filming or recording) to sold out crowds. I've read comments from other reviewers in the USA and other countries that they made it a point to be there and see it live on the repeat. Talk is that it will likely come back again in the future... So pay attention to their announced annual schedules and plan a trip to Europe.
They have also done concerts of game music as well, and all kinds of other things.
While most of their concerts are more traditional music - it seems that about every year they do something different like this. I'm sure that the musicians have a lot of fun with it - and it keeps them on their toes as they don't normally recreate many sounds used in movies, games, and other things. I've never seen an orchestra with a guitar in it before... but, it is part of the music so they hired a guitarist for this concert series.

The DR1 (and National) Symphony Orchestra is the Danish equivalent to the English BBC1 Symphony Orchestra, so it's top quality public service. So they do all kind of music including from TV, film, cartoons and video games. Their mission is not to push a special brand of "taste" in music, but all about providing top quality public service to make all who watch and listen, and not least children and younger people, get a taste for this kind of symphony orchestra music, also for educational purpose.
Of cause you could go for their Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings or what have you, but they also make use of guest conductors like Eímear Noone who is actually best known for her award-winning work as both a conductor and composer of video game music. Noone's composing and conducting work includes 26 film and video game titles, including being the original conductor of Overwatch, Diablo III, Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty, and not least both a composer and the conductor of World of Warcraft and its expansions.

it is a danish music custom to hang the previous conductor who became old and grumpy. 😂
the instrument the guy is playing with the piano in the second song is an oboe. The oboe is a member of the woodwind family.

Wow. I've only recently begun digging into my Danish roots thanks to the discovery of my late father's first cousin, whom I hadn't known existed until recently. She and her son have been working on the family history prior to immigrating to America, and has me interested in all things Danish. She hasn't gone as far back as 1448 though. I would love to know the region or town from whence this orchestra sprang.

No, this is the Danish National Symphony Orchestra. It's not the same. DNSO was formed in 1925 and is the orchestra of DR - Danish Radio and Television, also formed around that time.
And this took place at Koncerthuset, which is part of DR Byen - the buildings of DR. They are not related to the Royal Danish Orchestra.

The - Storyline in the Film is about a man, a Criminal being delivered for a Reward - to be hanged! And this is why "The Hanging Man", and Eastwood as a shadow in the back. It was made in a Huge Set in Spain and for Italian and German money!
Only the three main Actors were American to my knowledge?
The Instructor and Composer were Italian, and Classical Composer, Ennio Morricone never saw the film but made the tunes from the asking!

During the Star Wars night, they even perform the original Ewok, YUB NUB song, from the theatrical ending of Return of the Jedi, before Lucas lost his mind and started messing and adding all the painfully obvious CGI elements, that stick out like a sore thumb!

Another great Ennio Morricone soundtrack is from the 1986 Roland Joffe movie "The Mission" (with Robert Deniro & Jeremy Irons) Not a spaghetti western but an exploration of Catholic missionaries and their role in the colonization of Brazil in the 1700s. Here is Ennio conducting the theme from the movie:
