Its wild how the story started with Goro dying by getting pushed off a cliff and now he is pushing someone off a cliff and jumping alongside the person who he pushed, also the fact that his name now is Aqua and he is jumping into the ocean AND ALSO stabbing himself in the same place as where Ai was stabbed so many ties connected to the beginning of the story.
Ok So I understand now why the stupid crow kid said "it was a bad move" ( in ch 122).... If it was a cannon event that aqua HAS to die or sacrifice himself, it would have been much easier for him if everyone hated him till this point of the story. Notice how before ch 122 he had been making everyone hate him... But after the confession to Ruby that he's Goro everything suddenly changed. He may have felt that Ruby needs him now, as ichigo says in ch 128 he's broken because he has to live now for Ruby and keep his thought of killing hikaru aside. And that's why after these chapters he started building his relationship again with others and focused on his future All these up to this chapter, he learnt here hikaru still hasn't changed.
Though the outcome somewhat remain the same as he still intends to kill Hikaru and actually delivered it, Aqua did went through development himself. In the end, he’s still willing to die just to kill Hikaru.
I have been rereading the manga and chapter 106 is crazy. Context this is the chapter where Aqua exposes that he and Ruby are Ai's children to the media. Aqua directly says in this chapter "This is necessary so you can live in this world even after I'm gone." This has been foreshadowed even 50 chapters ago

Theory Time: What if in the next chapter, the Crow Girl somehow finds Aqua and offers to have him be saved, but for some reason (idk why, I came up with this theory a couple minutes ago), Aqua doesn't want to be saved, and he doesn't want to be reincarnated. The Crow Girl asks if he's sure of this, and when Aqua reaffirms it, he asks the Crow Girl for one last request; if she can't save his life, he can at least pass along a wish he has. And that wish is for Ruby to live a happy and long life. Even if it means he wasn't in it. The Crow Girl begrudgingly agrees, but his wish does come at a price. This leads me to my next theory; only Hikaru will survive the fall and will actually go on to impersonate Aqua. Now, I know about the flashforward interview in Chapter 2, where Ruby says she'll have the most important person by her side, that being Aqua, but something that struck me; we never saw Aqua's face in that interview. Just his lower and upper body. That could be Hikaru with her in the interview room, for all we know. And maybe the Crow Girl even had an ultimatum that she didn't tell Aqua about (for some reason, I came up with this theory a couple minutes ago, just bear with me); she would only be able to bring one of the two (Aqua or Hikaru) back to life, but that would depend if Aqua accepted her deal or not to save him. If he accepted, then only Aqua would live, but if he denied, then only Hikaru would live. Now, the last theory; I think the white star that was shining over B-Komachi's dome performance was a metaphorical representation that even though Aqua may not be physically present in Ruby's life anymore, he will continue to watch over her, even after he's gone. That ties in to my theory on whether Aqua would die or not; Imma be honest, I think it's 60-75% possible. Like I said with the white star, that could be a metaphorical representation for Aqua watching over her even when he's gone forever, acting as almost her guardian angel. And also, with this chapter coming out on the same day as the recent episode in Season 2 (I think, I could be wrong, maybe the episode came out before the chapter), this might mean we're in for a world full of hurt in the following chapters. However, it is entirely possible Aqua could live. Yes, while he did seem like he stabbed himself in the same place Ai was stabbed, it ultimately depends on how deep the knife went. If it's a flesh wound, yeah he's gonna be fine. But if it's deep, yeah, he's screwed. I don't despise the idea of Aqua dying or Hikaru surviving, but the idea that Aqua would willingly choose to not live just seems inconsistent to me. This chapter shows that Aqua does want to live and have a good life (especially since he and Goro are separating as entities). He's only killing himself now as he sees it as the only way for Ruby to not catch flack from the public. Besides, he literally did all this to stop Hikaru from being near Ruby so it makes no sense for him to choose to be dead instead of protecting his sister so the guy who he just died to prevent from killing his sister could live with her???

This is what I'm talking about. Hikaru is obessed with Ai and will choose her always. Ai knew that Hikaru was becoming toxic and she made the right decision to leave him. She didn't want to say anything though. Even if that means Ai loved him, she wanted him to help still. That's why she was a single mother. When she called Hikaru about meeting his kods, he took it as getting back together with him. He had no interest at all. Remember he was vague with pretty up everything. He proablry also wanted ryosuke to also kill aqua and ruby. And hid that fact from " I didn't expect ryoske to kill her " Master manipulator

Honestly i dont think Akasaka is going to giving us an ending where all the characters are depressed af because Aqua died, it would not be a proper way to end the series. Ruby falls into depression for losing her brother and her beloved doctor twice, Kana loses the person she loves the most and Akane fails to stop Aqua from killing himself, it would be way too heavy

Absolutely crazy chapter… - Akasaka giving appreciation to every character with Aqua’s monologue, you love to see it. - Hikaru’s blatant fear and nervousness is amazing, from his expressions and his pathetic interjections. Mengo, as always, conveyed it beautifully. As the kids would say, “bro knew he was cooked.” - So, will Aqua die or survive? It’s hard to tell. I was under the impression that this would be his end, but others seem to disagree. Regardless, his plan is quite strange. He’s doing this for his sister. - The ties back to Mephisto are INCREDIBLE. From the idea of Aqua giving up everything to protect Ruby’s life and Ai’s memory to him sinking through we watery abyss. Simply amazing. Man, I love this manga. Peak fiction.
I don't think if he is gonna die. Aqua and Akane had predicted the situation, stopped Nino and found Hikaru around the cliff. Things can't be decided only by Aqua, and Akane is mostly aware of the plan.
The art in this chapter was amazing as always. We all knew they were falling off as soon as we saw that clip but the execution was amazing. Also AKANE APPRECIATION LET'S GOO. If this was so good, I can only imagine what next week's chapter which will line up with the season 2 finale will be like

I could actually see that being a reason lol he has been studying a lot recently, so just stabbing a non vital organ instead of a vital one would increase his chances of survival slightly
The problem with this theory is the following. He's still bleeding AND falling into water. The Red Strings holding him in Mephisto are also a clue for him surviving the Stab, but bleeding out quickly IF no one saves him. For those thst are not familiar with Medicine or Anatomy. Blood loss is drastically increased when exposed in water. The wound cannot close because it can't dry out. Thsts the reason while arms slit suicide often happens in a filled bathtub. So it does really not look good for Auqa here but my respect for this good writing. The Author really made sure Aqua either dies or has to be rescued in order to avoid bad writing like, aqua survived the fall and simply went on with his life.

I would guess Crow girl is either going to fish Aqua out or lead someone to him / his body. As others pointed out she is out on a beach waiting while Aqua went through with throwing himself and Hikaru into the ocean. As for the ramifications of if he survives, Ruby and Kana would be emotional wrecks from what happened whilst Akane on the other hand is probably going to figure out pretty quick he engineered his own murder here and may never be willing to let him out of her sight again. So to speak if the man survives even not adding in if he ended Hikaru or not their is going to be serious realtionship drama ontop of emotional drama. If Aqua dies here I still think crow girl is their for him to take his soul onto whatever is next for him be it as a mysterious entity like her or to a proper rest / reincarnation. Actually next chapter could even be only about the Crow girl and what she has been meddling for coming to fruition.

I actually noticed something about the first ending "mephisto" aqua falls in water and the scene switches to ruby begin on the top of the hospital, my theory is aqua will survive so is hikaru but after they get better hikaru will be prisoned by "attempt of murder"
What's interesting is despite how strong headed and "brave" Hikaru makes himself out to be, at the end of the day, he's an obsessive and manipulative little shit, who only cares about self preservation. Aqua managed to come up with a story that has him scared, and we don't see Hikaru laughing/accepting his fate, he is legit scared and worried, cause the persona/face/act he kept up's crumbled and it's legit fear.

I suspect that this whole thing was a ploy to make Hikaru confess. After what he and Akane pulled on Nino, it wouldn’t surprise me if they tried the something similar with Hikaru. Aqua is an actor with access to very good props and illusions. He’s also incredibly smart and manipulative.
The crazy thing is how the anime put in all those foreshadowing moments like in the season one ending song Mephisto. Look at the lyrics, LOOK at the anime where Aqua is drowning into the water with red feathers around him. I mean literally telling what is going to happen. Even in the season 2 ending song we see dark Ruby foreshadowing ALL OVER THE PLACE. The crows, the drowning into darkness. The dark CLOTHES, etc. Either way, we are going to get that huge twist come next week or Friday for the spoilers. Either way, this is going to be crazy for us. Sadly the anime finale won't be until October 6th. It got pushed back 4 days. Rezero season 3 premiere will be 90 minutes and it took the regular Oshi No Ko spot. We still get the manga chapter next week.

@@ZephyrRetro with the foreshadowing Aka just puts it in the all the time. So you'll know by Friday or Saturday if Aka will either do the Attack on Titan route where the main character gets off and really pissed of a lot of the manga OR something happens where Aqua gets saved.
Aqua's chances of survival is very low, he's bleeding out from the stab wound and also faces drowning in the dark waters at a place with seemingly nobody else around. it will take something close to a miracle to save him
About the end, she would likely not know because of the knife would having his DNA on it because the salt water will quickly get rid of most of the traces from him holding the knife (and tbh i doubt he'd go in intending to make it obvious that he exclusively held the knife through DNA anyway). The image he's trying to show is that they got into a fight and in the process he was stabbed. Since theyre both dead, the assumption is "Hikaru stabbed him" so its counter productive for him to go out of his way to leave any traces of his own DNA on the knife to find. If anything, if theres DNA of them both on the handle then itd be easy to assume they fought over the knife. I think if she were to find out, it would simply because he admitted to her that her revenge was done and ended up implying he still had something in mind. From there she might not be able to narrow down the details to the point of determining he stabbed himself, but I think that the lack of any real closure would be more than enough heartbreak, as he would want to take this secret to his grave. I also dont think Hikaru would get amnesia because it just feels like bad writing in a way. its an easy way out, convenience that does nothing for the plot, and unless they plan on dragging it all out and going right back to this same plot point of trying to ruin his life for another arc, it wouldnt have a place in wrapping up this plot. Aqua dying doesnt feel like it would make sense either, since theres still loose ends that wouldnt be neatly wrapped up in the perspective of anyone else, because they dont actually know what happened.
I still believe Aqua is gonna survive. But whatever happens next, I'm hoping the least that could happen is for Hikaru to die as it would make a fitting conclusion to the revenge plot. And besides, it's probably the only way he could be stopped. If anything, he could meet Ai in the afterlife.

Aqua and Ruby are like split versions of Ai, and it's kinda like Ruby is Ai's hopes and dreams of becoming an idol and truthfully loving everyone (had she not died) which is kinda like her name as Ruby means a jewel and Aqua says 'Even jewels always envy to be a star' in Mephisto, and Aqua is Ai's reality; Aqua means water which is where he dies, and also can be related to tears and Ai's death.

Its wild how the story started with Goro dying by getting pushed off a cliff and now he is pushing someone off a cliff and jumping alongside the person who he pushed, also the fact that his name now is Aqua and he is jumping into the ocean AND ALSO stabbing himself in the same place as where Ai was stabbed so many ties connected to the beginning of the story.
Ok So I understand now why the stupid crow kid said "it was a bad move" ( in ch 122).... If it was a cannon event that aqua HAS to die or sacrifice himself, it would have been much easier for him if everyone hated him till this point of the story.
Notice how before ch 122 he had been making everyone hate him... But after the confession to Ruby that he's Goro everything suddenly changed. He may have felt that Ruby needs him now, as ichigo says in ch 128 he's broken because he has to live now for Ruby and keep his thought of killing hikaru aside.
And that's why after these chapters he started building his relationship again with others and focused on his future
All these up to this chapter, he learnt here hikaru still hasn't changed.

I have been rereading the manga and chapter 106 is crazy. Context this is the chapter where Aqua exposes that he and Ruby are Ai's children to the media. Aqua directly says in this chapter "This is necessary so you can live in this world even after I'm gone." This has been foreshadowed even 50 chapters ago
I honestly wouldn’t be upset if Aqua dies. But if he does get saved I hope it by crow girl or Akane.

Theory Time: What if in the next chapter, the Crow Girl somehow finds Aqua and offers to have him be saved, but for some reason (idk why, I came up with this theory a couple minutes ago), Aqua doesn't want to be saved, and he doesn't want to be reincarnated. The Crow Girl asks if he's sure of this, and when Aqua reaffirms it, he asks the Crow Girl for one last request; if she can't save his life, he can at least pass along a wish he has. And that wish is for Ruby to live a happy and long life. Even if it means he wasn't in it. The Crow Girl begrudgingly agrees, but his wish does come at a price.
This leads me to my next theory; only Hikaru will survive the fall and will actually go on to impersonate Aqua. Now, I know about the flashforward interview in Chapter 2, where Ruby says she'll have the most important person by her side, that being Aqua, but something that struck me; we never saw Aqua's face in that interview. Just his lower and upper body. That could be Hikaru with her in the interview room, for all we know.
And maybe the Crow Girl even had an ultimatum that she didn't tell Aqua about (for some reason, I came up with this theory a couple minutes ago, just bear with me); she would only be able to bring one of the two (Aqua or Hikaru) back to life, but that would depend if Aqua accepted her deal or not to save him. If he accepted, then only Aqua would live, but if he denied, then only Hikaru would live.
Now, the last theory; I think the white star that was shining over B-Komachi's dome performance was a metaphorical representation that even though Aqua may not be physically present in Ruby's life anymore, he will continue to watch over her, even after he's gone.
That ties in to my theory on whether Aqua would die or not; Imma be honest, I think it's 60-75% possible.
Like I said with the white star, that could be a metaphorical representation for Aqua watching over her even when he's gone forever, acting as almost her guardian angel.
And also, with this chapter coming out on the same day as the recent episode in Season 2 (I think, I could be wrong, maybe the episode came out before the chapter), this might mean we're in for a world full of hurt in the following chapters.
However, it is entirely possible Aqua could live. Yes, while he did seem like he stabbed himself in the same place Ai was stabbed, it ultimately depends on how deep the knife went. If it's a flesh wound, yeah he's gonna be fine. But if it's deep, yeah, he's screwed.

I don't despise the idea of Aqua dying or Hikaru surviving, but the idea that Aqua would willingly choose to not live just seems inconsistent to me. This chapter shows that Aqua does want to live and have a good life (especially since he and Goro are separating as entities). He's only killing himself now as he sees it as the only way for Ruby to not catch flack from the public.
Besides, he literally did all this to stop Hikaru from being near Ruby so it makes no sense for him to choose to be dead instead of protecting his sister so the guy who he just died to prevent from killing his sister could live with her???

- The ties back to Mephisto are INCREDIBLE. From the idea of Aqua giving up everything to protect Ruby’s life and Ai’s memory to him sinking through we watery abyss. Simply amazing.

The problem with this theory is the following. He's still bleeding AND falling into water. The Red Strings holding him in Mephisto are also a clue for him surviving the Stab, but bleeding out quickly IF no one saves him.
For those thst are not familiar with Medicine or Anatomy. Blood loss is drastically increased when exposed in water. The wound cannot close because it can't dry out. Thsts the reason while arms slit suicide often happens in a filled bathtub.
So it does really not look good for Auqa here but my respect for this good writing. The Author really made sure Aqua either dies or has to be rescued in order to avoid bad writing like, aqua survived the fall and simply went on with his life.

As others pointed out she is out on a beach waiting while Aqua went through with throwing himself and Hikaru into the ocean. As for the ramifications of if he survives, Ruby and Kana would be emotional wrecks from what happened whilst Akane on the other hand is probably going to figure out pretty quick he engineered his own murder here and may never be willing to let him out of her sight again. So to speak if the man survives even not adding in if he ended Hikaru or not their is going to be serious realtionship drama ontop of emotional drama. If Aqua dies here I still think crow girl is their for him to take his soul onto whatever is next for him be it as a mysterious entity like her or to a proper rest / reincarnation. Actually next chapter could even be only about the Crow girl and what she has been meddling for coming to fruition.

I suspect that this whole thing was a ploy to make Hikaru confess. After what he and Akane pulled on Nino, it wouldn’t surprise me if they tried the something similar with Hikaru. Aqua is an actor with access to very good props and illusions. He’s also incredibly smart and manipulative.

The crazy thing is how the anime put in all those foreshadowing moments like in the season one ending song Mephisto. Look at the lyrics, LOOK at the anime where Aqua is drowning into the water with red feathers around him. I mean literally telling what is going to happen. Even in the season 2 ending song we see dark Ruby foreshadowing ALL OVER THE PLACE. The crows, the drowning into darkness. The dark CLOTHES, etc. Either way, we are going to get that huge twist come next week or Friday for the spoilers. Either way, this is going to be crazy for us. Sadly the anime finale won't be until October 6th. It got pushed back 4 days. Rezero season 3 premiere will be 90 minutes and it took the regular Oshi No Ko spot. We still get the manga chapter next week.

@@ZephyrRetro with the foreshadowing Aka just puts it in the all the time. So you'll know by Friday or Saturday if Aka will either do the Attack on Titan route where the main character gets off and really pissed of a lot of the manga OR something happens where Aqua gets saved.

Aqua's chances of survival is very low, he's bleeding out from the stab wound and also faces drowning in the dark waters at a place with seemingly nobody else around. it will take something close to a miracle to save him

About the end, she would likely not know because of the knife would having his DNA on it because the salt water will quickly get rid of most of the traces from him holding the knife (and tbh i doubt he'd go in intending to make it obvious that he exclusively held the knife through DNA anyway). The image he's trying to show is that they got into a fight and in the process he was stabbed. Since theyre both dead, the assumption is "Hikaru stabbed him" so its counter productive for him to go out of his way to leave any traces of his own DNA on the knife to find. If anything, if theres DNA of them both on the handle then itd be easy to assume they fought over the knife. I think if she were to find out, it would simply because he admitted to her that her revenge was done and ended up implying he still had something in mind. From there she might not be able to narrow down the details to the point of determining he stabbed himself, but I think that the lack of any real closure would be more than enough heartbreak, as he would want to take this secret to his grave.
I also dont think Hikaru would get amnesia because it just feels like bad writing in a way. its an easy way out, convenience that does nothing for the plot, and unless they plan on dragging it all out and going right back to this same plot point of trying to ruin his life for another arc, it wouldnt have a place in wrapping up this plot. Aqua dying doesnt feel like it would make sense either, since theres still loose ends that wouldnt be neatly wrapped up in the perspective of anyone else, because they dont actually know what happened.
I still believe Aqua is gonna survive. But whatever happens next, I'm hoping the least that could happen is for Hikaru to die as it would make a fitting conclusion to the revenge plot. And besides, it's probably the only way he could be stopped. If anything, he could meet Ai in the afterlife.
