I know at first glance it may SEEM like Aqua and Ruby accomplished their goals, but they Accomplished them in the most BULLSH!T WAY POSSIBLE!!! AAAAAAAND let’s be real, the Dialogue in this final arc was absolutely ATROCIOUS!!! And about that crow girl, can we ALL agree that her personality COMPLETELY takes a massive shift after the first half of the movie arc, because before she was pretty much a Bully to Aqua and Ruby, and she teased them every chance she got. But after we get the flashback of her interacting with Serena in the past she straight up becomes a Nice Girl out of nowhere. She then has the audacity to Glaze the Hell out of Aqua (INEXPLICABLY) and literally watch’s as his body fade into absolutely nothing!!!
What was the point of all this? What was the point of spending 4 god damn years and making an anime about a 16 year old ldol mother who dies in front of her children and having one of her children die in the most LAUGHABLE way imaginable, and the other one be forever DOOMED to be just another carbon Copy of her mother, the one thing she said she’d never become!!! Hell I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a literal stalker at that door Pointing a GUN at Ruby’s face while she has her head turned around. Another thing, even IF I go back to the 1st and 6th episode of the anime, i wouldn’t feel the least bit sad cause I don’t CARE anymore. And if we’re being honest, Akane should’ve died right then and there at the end of Ep 6, at least THEN Aka would’ve had something to SAY!!!
Aka: Eh, just want to let ya’ll know that this stuff can actually happen in real life, so you Should probably, you know, not do it anymore. Thanks😊
And I never actually watched or read the Tokyo Blade Arc in the anime or manga, but now I care about it even less now because WHATS THE DAMN POINT ANYMORE!!! And you can straight up count me out on continuing the anime. Cause who the hells gonna even care about Oshi No Ko by the time the anime gets a S3 and/or a S4 if THAT even happens!!! And even IF the anime changes the ending, it’s Already Too Late cause the damage has already been freaking done!!! All those animators and voice actors are just wasting their Blood Sweat and Tears for NOTHING now, and I just feel SAD for them right now!!! And now that his latest series got the Ax, Aka is now working on a Manga about and I Quote “a fairy-tale world, where princesses and princes are always guided by fate..." and apparently the artwork is being done by the guy who did Record of Ragnarok. But after this Atrocity of a Manga about Idols, I wouldn’t be surprised if that series gets Axed too, along with all of his Other future projects. Cause let’s be real, who the hell is gonna SUPPORT him after this!!!

Ruby didn't wanna become like Ai, she became an even sadder version of her.
Kana's love for Aqua was not only unfullfilled, it never got a chance to happen.
Throughout the manga, Akane constantly tried to save the boy who came to her rescue , only for him to stab himself and drown.
And Aqua, who never got over the death of his own mother, Ai, and Sarina; he never learned to love himself, in a story that is all about the notion of love.... this ending was a sick joke.

I didn't mind Aqua dying if the author had found a way to write it where it was inevitable and there was no other choice. The dude sacrificed himself so his sister could have a couple years of doing her dream job. Then, the idol industry would kick her out for growing too old and she & her group would be easily replaced. Also, they made Aqua's death feel very insignificant to many of the characters because after the funeral chapter, the next chapter showed everyone just moved on a couple days later. Also, Ruby's arc was quite a slap in the face, rather than taking the time to grieve and move on she decided to put on a metaphorical mask, hiding her true feelings from the world and living a life of lies. She literally became AI 2.0, rather than learning from AI's tragic past and becoming a better person.

The problem with alot of newgen anime and mangaka is that they keep using death and pain as an easy way to build and end drama, especially towards the end of the series. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. What they don't understand is that shoehorning these elements into a story that doesn't particularly need it would only leave the audience confused and unsatisfied. It's not about the thought of it, it's about it's execution. Does it make sense? Does it align with the story?

In my opinion, Hikaru was a poorly written and disappointing villain. The author tried to present him as sympathetic by making him a rape victim, but in the last chapter, he is described as a monster who killed many people. I’m sorry, but this comes off as artificial and doesn’t really connect with the overall theme of the entertainment industry.
Hikaru owns a production company, which could have been used to show how he leveraged his influence to abuse others, perpetuating the cycle of exploitation he experienced. This would have tied in perfectly with the theme.
In addition, the last chapters felt so hollow-it seemed as if all the characters had become empty shells.

In fact, it'd probably have been a lot less jarring to me if Hikaru had self-disposed & the full reasons were getting covered up for basically the same reasons Aqua had made his choices in canon. (A father who did that sort of thing would be just as bad if not worse than a twin brother.)

    Yapping session:
The issue with this ending is that it was rushed and illogical.
Aqua didn't have to die. He could be grown as a person. He could've provoked Hikaru and have Akane call authorities so the guy gets arrested or whatever, they could've thrown him in jail or a psych ward. Ruby just continuing living in lies in a miserable lonely life with all her biological family gone sucks and shouldn't happen.
If Aka wanted Aqua to die, he could've made Hikaru snap and stab him, and Aqua, struggling to get away from Hikaru while having an open wound, could fall in the water with him, on accident. But nah let's make him kill himself despite having a whole episode about why you should never do that to yourself amd your loved ones and make it look like it "needed to happen to save Ruby"
Also I'm so sad we didn't at least get to see Aqua reuniting with Ai in the afterlife. Imagine him calling Ai "mom" for the first time 🙁
Also why did Crow Girl just stand there and do nothing???
If Aka wanted Ruby to live similarly to Ai, he could've kept Aqua with her. Seriously it's so obviously rushed. I mean ik that writing can be hard, but I feel like the ending could've been handled better. Either have Aqua survive and go to therapy, either give us an actual unbeatable reason why he had to die and show grief in a better way. No hate to aka ofc, but I followed Aqua's story to see him grow as a person, which is what the series basically told me was gonna happen only for him to pull the "ha! Tragic death!" Card which is overused and annoying.

    • @Drip_Wooper
      @Drip_Wooper Месяц назад +5

@@skii_aini671 the anime changing solution is a good fix, but its more uncommon that it seems, because unfortunately it can only happen when the AUTHOR themselves give creative liberty to the studio, be it because they also dislike the ending they made or if the anime gets ahead of the manga and the mangaka thinks they won't be able to catch up. Else it just doesn't happen, because the Japanese, even if they also dislike the ending (they hated it more than us btw, surprisingly) think it's disrespectful to do it.
Not a mind reader, but I'm pretty sure Aka does not regret this ending one bit, so this sh*t's staying. I know its a tragedy, but even since greek times, sad stories had morals other than 'wouldn't it be messed up if that happened?' or 'that happened, it sucked lol'. The ShowBiz is a Bad Place is the moral of the story, we knew it from chapter 4, so what other lessons is there to learn by sticking to the end? "People will get over your death pretty quick" and "S**cide will fix all your problems actually"? Aka you aight buddy?

the problem isn't that Aqua dies, the problem is that how we get there is explained like shit. Aqua from the play arc from S2 is more revenge minded and uncaring about the present than the Aqua from the final arcs.
In the anime the reason Akane struggles to break up with him is because he doesn't wanna revenge anymore and at that moment Aqua doesn't know the twisted shit his father went thru yet to sympathise with him. Taiki told him about his parents and Aqua already tapped out and the separation between Goro and Aqua gets worse after S2.
Even with the identity reveals he isn't as locked in as he used to be, during his last moments he wants to live. On top of that bro is gone while the graduation tour is going on so we don't see him spotting the flowers, but Akane sees them.
By the way the last arc was told it makes more sense to think Akane would sacrifice.

Oshi no Ko's ending reminded me of Bleach's ending where everything is rushed and a resolution was reached without taking the proper steps. But at least, that manga retained a semblance of intelligence and had love from the author. Unlike Bleach, Oshi no Ko wasn't axed by the publisher. No, this manga's writer just lost interest in his story and wrapped up the ending in just 5 chapters. This manga was a cash cow, it was beloved by everyone, and fans were looking forward to the backstories of Hikaru and the other idols in B-Komachi. All of that was skipped. Hell, even the character arcs of the main cast was cut short because Akasaka was privileged enough to lose interest in writing a story that was his main source of income.
What wouldn't I give to be in a position where I get to write stories and an artist actually agrees to draw them out in a weekly magazine. That's why Oshi no ko's ending make me more angry than I should be.

My version if i was the creator: aqua falls into the water with his father and he is about to run out of breath but then he saw ai right in front of him reaching her hand to save him and then aqua drowns but then for some reason he survived but he is in a coma. Ruby goes and peforms but then when she was about to leave after done performing, she saw ai right in front of her and it turns out ai was alive this whole time and then ai told ruby everything so basically ai did get stabbed, and then ai acted dead but then ai secretly called the ambulance and then got saved and then ruby runned to ai and hugged her and aqua finally wakes up and hears about it and then he was super happy and sad and then thats how the book ends. Tbh the original ending is straight up ASS. 💀👌

    For aqua living
    - Aqua x akane = having their relationship Aqua gets semi closure that akane can turn to AI which he cant let go so they live a "lie" and loved each other
    - Aqua x Kanna = him going to the concert and taking 3 white light sticks, grow to love each other secret knowing the scandal but aqua can let go of revenge
    - Aqua x ruby = The incest troupe where the ending would give shit ton of "controversy"
    Aqua dying
Kanna back to the studio she finds a VIP tokyo dome ticket and having 3 white light sticks. Showing him loving kanna and she becoming his oshi no idol. kanna getting her closure that aqua loved her.

Aka never manages to land the ending. To be honest, I think it’s a struggle for a lot of writers. It’s actually very rare that I’ve found an ending that I enjoyed. My favourite book series, The Wheel of Time, even has a trash ending.
At least with Love is War, it wasn’t completely terrible; just a little lacklustre. Oshi no Ko on the other hand, just didn’t feel good at all.

the problem isn't the character, the author has written enough manga to know better.
Sure some things didn't need to happen, such as the romance element, but if the Alabama route makes more sense than the ending we got, that has to at least say something about how the author handled the ending of the story.

I like the fact that Ruby decides to move on and not just depressed or something.
But seriously Aqua's death and the way Hikaru was defeated is literally bad writing. He's building to be a pretty dangerous enemy and difficult to deal with but then in the end he just simply gets push down a cliff and drowned? That's like Akasaka has reached his limit and can't write any peak or mid ending.
All I can say for new fans or people who's about to start:
Only read the Oshi No Ko manga up to the end of the 2.5D Stage Play Arc or don't read Chapter 160-166 at-all.
Watch only the two seasons of Oshi No Ko's anime adaptation.
Maybe if the live-action has a second season don't watch it. I'm concerned about the "The Final Arc" live-action move rn.
The rest of the stories is up to your imagination. I agree the ending was terrible, Ai's will for her 2 child to live become meaningless, hope she beats Aqua up there.

I gave you a second chance in life You are now surrounded by people that care about you you are more loved in this life then you were in your previous one do not throw all of that away, cherish your new life do not throw away your new life after telling this to Aqua, The crow girl disappears forever hours later Aqua and Kana are talking with each other then Aqua asked kana on a Christmas date Kana is of Cours shocked after hearing this but she accepts it then, finally on Christmas Eve, Aqua and Kana go on their Christmas date they both have a good time together by the end of the date Kana confesses her feelings to Aqua she tells aqua she loves him then Aqua suddenly kisses Kana then they both start dating they tell everybody the good news that him and Kana are now dating and aqua tells Ruby that they cannot be together in this life because they are now siblings. He apologizes to Ruby, but Ruby excepts it she excepts that or an aqua cannot be together in this life, because they are now siblings then finally Aqua kana and Akane go see Ruby‘s big performance at the dorm they all cheer on Ruby and mem Cho Aqua is really happy and also cries a little bit that his sister finally achieved her dreams Aqua cheers on Ruby and they all have a very good time The final scene is Aqua Ruby Kana Akane mem Cho Miyako and Ichigo are at Ai grave and aqua finally calls Ai mom all of them give their final goodbyes to AI and Aqua, and Ruby are finally able to move on from their mother‘s death and they all say goodbye to AI 🤩

From what I understand, his editor took many liberties with how the story should unfold and what should be cut. Hikaru initially had a plan to end the series much earlier, but his editor pushed him to continue. In the end, he felt burned out and wanted to finish the story before going on vacation. This may explain the result we have today. The moral of the story is to avoid forcing a manga to continue until it’s no longer viable; it’s important to let it end when it should.
I hope Hikaru will have more freedom with his next story.

I honestly don't see the merit on the ending, it's very easy to write a tragic ending that will make you feel like shit, but this one even contradicts the themes of the show and character development. The whole Kamiki thing is the stupidest, his plotline was solved, he found out he was wrong the whole time, that's when he turns himself in, it's over. Instead he goes back to do crazy shit just to force this ending.

      @angelmendez-rivera351 Месяц назад +1

@ It's a contradiction to say that the overall ending is bad while also calling it well-written. Those are mutually exclusive things. And I agree with you that appreciation and personal enjoyment are different things, but, this distinction gets completely undermined and even dismissed when you say "well, I didn't enjoy it, therefore, the ending is overall bad." In saying this, you are categorically rejecting the very distinction you claim you acknowledge.
And, by the way, you say most people feel like you do, but this is just cap. I mean, you are operating on an echo chamber, looking at a video with several hundred comments, looking through the first few dozen of them, seeing that they more or less agree with you, and then concluding that this is somehow representative of tens millions of readers for the series. It's hysterical. You aren't obligated to like the series, but if you're going to be drawing conclusions about the ending being universally hated, then you can't use your own lack of enjoyment to support that.
Also, suppose I were to grant your claim that the ending is universally hated. Let's say, hypothetically, that me and my friend alone are the only people who thought the ending was great, and all other tens of millions of readers in every country and every language hated it. Cool. If that's the case, then I guarantee you that most of them aren't making the distinction you're making between appreciation and personal enjoyment. Most people aren't smart enough to even understand such a distinction exists.

    • @ShutInCuber
      @ShutInCuber Месяц назад +1

@@angelmendez-rivera351 For your first paragraph: I'll give that to you, I guess it is contradictory with my phrasing. For more context on it, I think that both aspects (narrative appreciation and emotional response) are equally important in determining an overall subjective quality of an ending.
You assume that this video is my only resource. I agree that that I made an assumption on collective opinions without making it clear I assumed it, but your assumption of my bigotry in it all is a tad annoying, and a little hypocritical. Because you're interested, my assumption comes from multiple comment sections from multiple websites, but yes, it was an assumption.
I agree with you, I think being able to make a conscious (or "self-aware") realization of something like this might be less common, however, I definitely think it's possible for people to hold this sentiment in a more subconscious way, if that makes sense.

It’s alright. I like when characters sacrifice themselves. People always hate on the ending early on and they like it later on. This is true for albums, games and even manga or anime. It makes sense for his character and the story. It’s a nice ending. Yes there were smaller plot lines that didn’t get fully closed but… their minor plots and in a show about the unfortunate realities of life and all that then it makes sense. He from the start never cared about himself idk what was expected. Also people love to hate on aot but everyone loves code geass. It’s the same ending hate for a better reason
