  • In this of Pretty Lonesome, Madeline delves into a series of personal anecdotes describing her struggles with keeping tidy, the excitement of upgrading to a new Mercedes, the apprehension of facing a fear of the dentist, and much more. Madeline reflecs on the mental toll of cluttered living spaces, the decision to rent a house near family, and the journey of overcoming dental anxiety, including contemplations about potential dental procedures. What if I told you that your stuff isn't messy, rotten and chaotic due to your mental state/health. Your disturbed brain is because off the messy rotten chaos. The psychological literature is quite extensive on this. It seems you have a million issues but can't see the woods for the trees. Bundled together these issues may seem like a insurmountable dragon, but this is not a macro issue. Micro issues require micro solutions, not macro level changes (new house, etc.). If you find yourself perpetually disturbed, like you are, then you'll have to reframe your mind's eye about the things you don't like doing. You are a head dominant person, prone to over intellectualizing everything and anything. Stop thinking. Instead, just execute. Ignore your brain and just focus on doing one thing. If your entire house is a mess, stop thinking about the mess, pick one thing. Maybe this a sock. Clean up the sock. That is a sufficient amount of change to begin turning around these detrimentally bad habits.
    If you can't even maintain a small living space, than you definitely won't maintain a mansion. This is a severe intellectual dishonesty. Utopian thinking. Because how you do one thing, is how you do anything.
    Cleaning and maintenance is a meditation for the mind. It requires no thinking. And if you get the ball rolling, the first 20% of the journey will be hard, the remaining 80% will follow naturally. And after maybe say 160 days, you'll achieve a flow state.
    Stop racing. Slow down. The universe is obviously expecting you to organize yourself on the micro level in preparation for your next big endeavors. I suggest you stop, take a breath, and heed it's calling.

      I ageee with this to an extent but telling someone that is diagnosed with ADHD to “slow their mind down” is like telling a person with Tourette’s to stop ticking. Or anyone with a condition to stop it. Maybe Tourette’s different as u can’t train that to stop but for some this is the case that it’s so severe it can’t be helped. It is something that is a brain disorder . not to say all with adhd have this issue, everyone is different and I agree cleaning isn’t a mentally tiring task for some but for others it’s the visuals in itself that can make someone feel like it’s to much and it takes deep routed support and CBT to get to the point of just looking at it and doing something about it for some people not just cleaning but daily adult tasks. Not myself but I understand deeply the difference in how some people’s brains are wired and sometimes IT IS due to mental health conditions.so without using big intellectual words that is the point I’d argue against yours. The part I don’t get is I love Madeline
      But she goes on about germs and said it’s fine if it’s just her own but there’s a clear state of mold is mold and clearly unhygienic so if your so OCD with germs how r u not paranoid of ur food growing into mould

    • @acevfx2923
      @acevfx2923 Месяц назад +4

      @@cooldude7945 All though there are indeed these odd-some cases of extreme disorders as you describe, they are the fringe minorities of the extreme outliers. Madeline is certainly not one of them. I'm not exactly saying: 'just' slow the mind down. In fact, people with ADHD attempting to meditate must speed up their thoughts, race their minds and overload the brain. The brain will tire out and that's when meditation can be achieved.
      Madeline is dealing with ordinary life struggles. Things that can be experienced and learned that will further her maturing.
      Although she might think, believe, herself to be A-okay with the rot and the mold and the clutter, I promise: she's not, although she might not be fully aware of it. She's obviously disturbed & perturbed, and all these messy things are major disruptive energies and signals that are antagonizing the brain.
      She needs to get her figurative and literal house in order. Luckily this requires no thinking. It's a bit like waking up early. You can over think this as much as you want, but in reality, the key to waking up early is simply: set an alarm, and when it goes off you just get up. Initially it will be hard, but do this enough times and it will become normal.
      Right now she's doing what everybody is doing: over intellectualizing and externalizing problems. Take some extreme ownership. Recognize that the brain =/= you. The brain is a muscle that needs to be trained and maintained. It is done by ignoring the voices and commanding the body. Corner the brain, and get back in control, before re-extending a hand to invite it back to the negotiations table.
      Extreme ownership. Vision. Plan. Execute mindlessly.

    The needle is the worst part of dentistry. I much prefer doing without. If there is very much pain then they are doing something wrong. And root canal therapy is only advisable when the nerve has already died and gone and then there is no pain at all

    • @miraclebox7798
      @miraclebox7798 Месяц назад +1

      i’m not sure how qualified you are and i don’t wanna come in and put you down, but i just have learned differently. i learned that you do a root canal if decay goes into the nerve and infects the nerve. commonly abscesses occur on the apex of the root when they are infected and they will hurt upon any ounce of pressure placed on the tooth (hence why i suspect madeline doesn’t need a root canal 33:30). the root canal can save the root of the tooth (by removing the nerve) and allow for a ceramic crown to be placed in the remaining tooth structure as opposed to having to extract the whole tooth and place an implant. that is just what i learned, but im not sure if you learned differently. i also thought that local aesthetics are necessary for any cavities that are near the nerve while still in dentin because they can still cause pain.
      i also might be wrong because i am not a dentist yet, i just have a dentist in the family and just have worked at the office for some time now. hope i didnt cause any hard feelings!

    • @josephcullen2512
      @josephcullen2512 Месяц назад +1

      @@miraclebox7798 yeah, it's all good, you're quite right in your learning 🙂 And so am I 🙂 The discrepancy is just in the time factor and disease process and what's considered infection. There are more innovative ways of dealing with the early stages of the nerve being exposed and or therefore arguably infected, but those more innovative methods aren't always the norm. Some dentists may even suggest root canal therapy even before an infection is established and the root hasn't necessarily been exposed. And that's the main thing I'm speaking up against. Although I'm also suggesting that the very early stages of exposure of the nerve and or infection are better left... Because in some cases the tooth can be fine for many years, especially if treated with those more innovative methods, and therefore for the health and structure of the tooth and the well-being of the patient, root canal therapy is better delayed indefinitely. Beyond the very early stage, once a nerve is actively infected further, it's generally a very short amount of time before it's all gone. A matter of days kind of thing. When there's an abscess formed, that means the nerve has all gone already unless it's a molar tooth with multiple root branches, then some may stay in tact a bit longer, but not usually and not much longer generally. I think it's better to let nature take its course. Because it's less bad than unnecessary root canal therapy on a live tooth. So yeah, I probably haven't written this very well but I've got the main ideas in it. And yes, root canal therapy is preferable to extraction. It just shouldn't be the first line of treatment either, because both are harmful and destructive and traumatizing and have adverse long term health implications. And yes, crowns are preferable to implants for sure. A crown is required only if too much of the enamel and dentin has decayed or been drilled away of course and there is basically no tooth structure left. Otherwise a normal filling is sufficient and obviously better.
