This should have been the canon ending to the show. Ekko becomes the actual 'boy saviour' in his own eyes, having become the fulcrum of a seemingly fantastical world. The old continuity is rewritten. This is now the present. Ekko has inadvertently saved countless of lives from their despair, sickness, and debilitation of rushed writing. In the words of the first actual song this season, "if you like the journey more than the end, then go on ahead". Whilst this universe is a seeming nirvana - where French and banjos exist - Ekko still searches for another chance to do things over. He, however, realizes that his device can only allow him to travel backwards in time and space, not transfer him into alternate realities (which was only possible due to the hex gate's corruption of it's reactor). Heimy teaches him that we can make the difference ourselves, and that the cycle of greed and hatred was what caused all that trouble initially. Ekko learns that his is his journey now, and that the end sometimes never pans out the way we'd wanted it to. Arcane is reached, in that a reality so bizarre and magical was somehow possible this whole time, and without any actual sorcery was needed (except for Vi). The Wild Rift, and the PC Game can still exist, technically taking characters at points before the universe jump. Jayce is trapped in limbo, forced to forever drag the dead weight of his hubris, and the studio's failed ideas behind him as an eternal metaphor of the Sisyphean climb in sacrificing writing and quality for boardroom decisions. 10/10 ending.
