I work in Raffles Place but don’t like to walk through the first floor of Arcade as your clothes will smell after that. Never knew Gandhi’s ashes were scattered in Clifford Pier. Merlion used to be at the pier and there were shops at the bridge that sold items brought from the sailors such as sailor caps and USSR watches. There were also a chicken rice stall and a rotating restaurant at the pier before they turned it into a hotel.
I image Clifford pier would have been really vibrant!

Pig trotters mifen made from that canned meat was what we ate when young. But since HPB said canned meat & lard are not healthy, my mum stopped cooking it.
