I work in Raffles Place but don’t like to walk through the first floor of Arcade as your clothes will smell after that. Never knew Gandhi’s ashes were scattered in Clifford Pier. Merlion used to be at the pier and there were shops at the bridge that sold items brought from the sailors such as sailor caps and USSR watches. There were also a chicken rice stall and a rotating restaurant at the pier before they turned it into a hotel.
Used to work in Raffles Plc. This series bring back memories of Arcade. Love the old mall series. Can’t wait to see future ones & hope can see one on Bras Basah Complex, People’s Park Centre, Thomson Plaza, Midpoint Orch, Concorde Shopping Mall, etc.

But it's so atas now. Clifford pier used to be full of workers and tourists. Now it's so quiet and too posh like it's only for rich people, even though they have to technically allow the public in by law. Didn't see many locals or even tourists
I remember 5 years ago I went back there and feel like it's a totally different place, like a posh hotel lobby, it's Aircon and it's eerily quiet, totally different vibes, it's no longer Clifford pier anymore, it's a atas hotel feel now

Allow me to make a suggestion. Once the old mall series is over, u can consider doing old hawker centres. I realised there are MANY MANY old hawker centres that i hardly heard of, have great food and charges one of the lowest prices, importantly, the 人情味很浓

Hong, came to tried the Fish Soup today at The Arcade. Fyi, I felt they had lost the original recipe. We ordered the fish soup with rice and found it tasteless and salty. 😖😢

Pig trotters mifen made from that canned meat was what we ate when young. But since HPB said canned meat & lard are not healthy, my mum stopped cooking it.
actually i use exchange money at change alley even though in late 1970s or early 1980s before I travelled abroad as a student. So don't have to go so far back.
