What a fun day in the life. You have a full plate but you manage it so well! I always love the way you dress, so when you said you loved fashion, it became clear as to why you’re always so stylish. ☺️ And yes ma’am to the runway walk!!!👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Hey EmpressNatiLocs! (You know I love hearing from you) You just made me smile. Thank you for watching. Im glad you enjoyed it. Now this could have been considered a jammed packed stressful day, but that's why you have to sprinkle in little opportunities of joy wherever you can find them. Also, thank you for the fashion compliment. It's not easy to dress how I want to dress and still do the work that we do. So I have to try to find the balance.
Really? Thank you! This Chicago weather is tricky. I have to take what I can get. I appreciate the compliment. You should see my paper dolls outfits (🤣🤣🤣)
Thank you so much for your kind words. I love meeting another autism mom and you will be his biggest advocate w/ or w/o the BCBA. I hope you and your son are navigating this new space well. Sometimes it takes time to adjust. My son is headed to High school and the advocacy work never stops. Please keep Us posted on your ABA journey. Is there a question I can answer for you in a video?
@@domthebcbamom6679 yes it is a lot of adjustments happening for sure. They don’t talk about the toll it take on parents and the struggles of finding “Great help”. We finally found an ABA therapist who had one opening. We jumped right on it. So we are thinking he will start june 5! We also noticed there are very few black and brown BCBA’s and practically no male BCBA’s. I have so many questions lol but I think they are more so individual questions because I know not every two kids are alike. They also don’t talk about the grief and guilt parents go through. It’s a lot.
Yep, I think this very much captures my day as a BCBA in L.A. ! 😂 great vlog per usual. My fav at Starbucks is the Quad, Venti Iced Caramel Macchiato 😊
I don’t think I’ve ever met a BCBA from LA (Which is one of my favorite cities). Nice to meet you. I’m glad to know we have so much in common & that you enjoyed the video. Thank you so much for watching. I truly appreciate the support 🥰🥰
Hi Dom. I love watching your videos and have learned so much. Thank you for building this platform. I am a fellow melanated BCBA, LBA 🎉🎊 & preparing to go to Detroit for the BABA Conference Yay!!!! I am interested in school consulting and would like to know more of what that looks like. I Live in the DMV area and would like more information about school consulting. Thank you for all you do!!!
Thank you Kimberly. I love hearing from you. Thank you for always supporting. Have fun at the BABA conference this year. I do have a video of how to get school contracts or I do offer mentoring if you want to get deeper into your roles and responsibilities lnk.bio/dshortertaylor/?fbclid=PAAaZ08JHp1r0DmuMGQLsCE_TXNQ-kJPgLnlNmVYZfuZMDrXNt4VUaN1A4Mxw
omg , i have been so back and forth between getting my BCABA OR BCBA. i want more money but don’t want to stress out in my field being a mom myself. i also like to have flexibility in my schedule and freedom . you are exactly how i see myself years from now and just highly inspired me to just do it .2 more years of school as a mom is intimidating to me but in the long term would be worth it i think . wish i could get mentored by you ❤
Who says you can’t? You can have it all. Here is a link to get started with mentorship lnk.bio/dshortertaylor/?fbclid=PAAaY0Qni_4rwJayKzYIQz0KaoT9r4nTsjtmoTjHiRmsLHzRE6IHHlaKZM12c_aem_Adzgbj4iWKqQFNVSaA6WbvEjv0djthd4O6U94i9AKOqfra2Sy3SN2DhDzLzVhBfK__s
Lol, oh you noticed that huh? When I am meeting with my supervisees, the answer is always YES. I encourage them to always have their book and code of ethics present as well. It's always a great reference when creating an ABA training, creating a treatment plan, you name it. It doesn't just get us through grad school, it helps us while we are increasing our competency in different areas.
