San Jose isn’t quite in the deep hole/ rebuild you think they are! With a top 10 prospect pool pre draft, and the 2nd most cap space with only 2 big contracts left in Couture (3 years) and Vlasic (2 years) sharks have prospects, draft capitol, major cap space, and a very good front office. 2 years and this team will be battling for playoff spot mark my words.

Hmm, Habs got a superstar player that slipped to 5 and the Sens missed the RHD they really wanted, Parekh, and instead seemed to reach based on the "run to the podium" remarks after Ottawa picked. Fortunate!
This is an enjoyable mock draft to watch, but the key is what Chicago values most. They can always take a blue liner at #20. If they pass on Levshunov and opt for Demidov, then Levshunov automatically falls to Anaheim at #3 as I believe the Ducks made the Drysdale for Gauthier trade with the mindset that they would take a defenseman with the top five pick that they knew they were going to get to make up for the loss of Drysdale. That would leave Columbus to take Lindstrom at #4 and leave the Canadiens to make some decisions. This whole thing would be more cut and dried if Chicago didn't have that extra round selection at #20. In fact, Chicago has two first round selections, three second round selections and two more third round picks in this draft. So they can concentrate on the blue line later and select Demidov if they want.
@@enortap Another thing to keep in mind in regard to the Black Hawks draft strategy is they had 22 picks in the last two drafts, but only selected three defenseman. They definitely has some catching up to do on the back end.
I think there will be a trade between Calgary and Ottawa that will involve swapping the 7th and 9th overall picks, if Iginla is still available at 7. Agreed Randy. Eiserman could turn out to be a steal for some team in the later stage of the 1-12 rankings especially if he gets his defensive game corrected and becomes more of a team player.
Any other team other than Detroit, I probably would not have picked him this soon (more mid to late 1st rounder) but Detroit can really use this player whose stock has been escalating since January. Plus Yzerman always thinks outside the box.

There are many great d-men available in this years draft that great forwards could drop a bit to a lower ranking. Nothing to do with our affiliation or allegiance to Montreal but merely reacting and ranking as the prospects are currently performing as of today.
Good point Evan but with some expiring contracts coming up soon and the age of some of their current d-men such as Chiarot, Holl, Maatta, Petry and Gostibehere, another young robust and truculent could also be a possibility. Thanks for your comment.
There seems to be a lot of contrarians popping up lately suggesting that Levshinov is the most overrated player in the draft. Thanks for watching...Well- we looked at their prospect pool (which is probably the best in the NHL in my opinion) and we know that Pat Verbeek has said that he's in the market for a top 6 right hand winger and a right shot D....but I guess Enortap felt that Verbeek, who loves hard nose type players, would find it hard to pass on Silayev. BTW- our mock stands up pretty good next to some that came out after from The Athletic..Could go many different ways this year for sure.
Thanks for the comment Brian but I can assure you that we tried to keep it as unbias as possible trying to think the way the respective GM's direction might go. Indeed the ducks do have a great deal of fantastic young prospects on the team and in the farm that will really benefit the team in the near future. However, with this pick selected for Anaheim, I was thinking defenceman might indeed be a possibility since they traded Drysdale not too long ago and Fowler and Gudas are starting to get on in age. The younger prospects like Helleson , Luneau and Warren are all RHD and with Silayev not only are you getting a LHD but a big bruising d-man who at 6'7" will be dominating in the league especially at playoff time.

The same thing would happen here. Marky dont fit the timeline. Now if you said someone like Saros I could get on board. Not to mention Askarov is ready for them.
@@pattylonglegs3353 I'm not a huge Markstrom fan so I can't disagree with your rational- we had it in there because its been widely reported. Finding a starting goalie is not easy in today's league- goaltending is so volatile..
@@markolarabie6685 he’s good one year bad one year and now he’s old with higher risk of injury or even retirement. Teams should honestly avoid unless it’s at a good cost. The have wolf and vladar so really the pressure is on them.
Of course some Habs fans do a mock draft with Demidov dropping to 5th lol
So did The Athletic...Thanks for watching!
Thanks for your comment but have a look at the May 28, 2024 Corey Pronman rankings from the Athletic. They have Demidov ranked at #8. There are many great d-men available in this years draft that great forwards could drop a bit to a lower ranking. Nothing to do with our affiliation or allegiance to Montreal but merely reacting and ranking as the prospects are currently performing as of today.
Detroit already with Seider and ASP they're not going RHD they need wingers
Good point Evan but with some expiring contracts coming up soon and the age of some of their current d-men such as Chiarot, Holl, Maatta, Petry and Gostibehere, another young robust and truculent could also be a possibility. Thanks for your comment.
Lmao too deep in the hans echo chamber
doubt habs risk taking a russian, im bbetting iginla
Wouldn't be mad if it turns out that way...
Could be correct and Iginla is a great pick to have at 5 as well.
There seems to be a lot of contrarians popping up lately suggesting that Levshinov is the most overrated player in the draft.
Chicago certainly needs a right shot D man, but only a fool woukd profess to know what "Kyle from Chicago" might do.
What do you think? I see you have the Hawks taking him at #2, so I guess that speaks for itself.
Hard to predict this year- logical that it would Levshunov or Demidov...Thanks for watching!
Huge mistake Professore! Broken leg in the Russian medical system big problem wait for the reports of complications! Been there done that !
Why Roy Tsyplakov just signed with Islanders Fedotov with Flyers Russian can stays there one year then come in NHL when complete their contract they move in NHL Demidov will be ready in 2025-26 he is at the combine Buffalo this season like Silayev too
@@HockeyNationLiveShowCoach Fedotov mysteriously got sent to the Aircraft Carrier, no hockey for over a year !
@@royshroud9536 he is the only one that’s all. Then he returned KHL. I don’t see any problems anymore with Russians players with only one year contract Michkov complicated because he has 3 years
I have a feeling Anaheim is going to pick Parekh. He has the smarts that Anaheim likes and Dionicio plays on the same team, they have must have seen a lot of games.
They could use a RHD but they already have Zellweger to run their PP though...
That Devils trade for Markstrom will never happen. The fan base doesn’t want it and Fitz knows this.
Michkov still living rent free in your head
Homers; nobody take the Ducks seriously. Pleae do more research before making puff piece commentary.
