My husband loved raw oysters, snails etc. Sorry to say, not my thing, however caviar, shrimp and sushami is. Although not raw, I like frog legs. 😂 I do like oysters cooked, like stew or Rockefeller. The photo, I think if it was a mail carrier, it was probably a telegram. Typically for telegrams the stand waiting for a reply. I could be wrong, but time will tell. Hmmmm, disappearing building. Kind of like a missing cellar. I love a good mystery.
