All of these new details being discovered and adding to the mysteries of LaLande, c’est magnifique. I hope that Philip will one day write a complete “Histoire de Chateau de La Lande”, with a lot of pictures. I know that it would prove to be another great fund raiser for continued work at La Lande, I know that I would purchase a copy straight-away!
Somehow or other the newly discovered holy water font should be incorporated into the gardens that are going to be in front of the chapel. Near the door sort of seems appropriate. Just another idea from Neil in Australia 🇦🇺
You deserve every bit of the life you are living. Stephanie you are the rare individual with an open and loving heart, curious mind and a love of humanity and all of life. You have done so much for the world, for your community and your family, in ways that are not necessarily known by you or others. And it has added to the goodness of the world and been a wonderful antidote to the angst currently present on the world stage. I for one, (and my life has been very challenging and quite difficult at times) have personally witnessed the power of loving kindness and compassion, empathy and care in shaping and creating better and happier experiences. I could go on and on, I simply wanted to express my appreciation for your lovely vlog, the effort you make for people you will never meet or know. It’s been so much fun to watch the progression of events, as I watched right from the beginning. Many, many blessings to you, Phillip and all you family and friends.
Stephanie and Philip, this Hotel is Magical with all of the painted walls, the millwork molding and the gorgeous flower arrangments and the fall tree in the reception area, with the Murano chandelier above!!! WOW!!! THANK YOU!
Wow! Incredible find of the dated holy water font! I sure hope the mantel can be saved. That hotel is stunning!! Have a great trip!! Love from Mary in Southern California 💗

Nothing as elaborate as your Hotel but a B&B with Down Comforters and a lovely Couple who treated us like Dearest Friends 💕 Two young Americans my Husband was US Air force just starting His tour. We spent three years traveling Europe and all of Great Britain but Edinburgh was always in Our Hearts and have returned so many times🌹
Such an interesting discovery! Thoroughly enjoyed this vlog and the Chapel is so stunning that I never tire of seeing it. Safe travels and thank you for taking us along with you.

Millions of cat videos on youtube, you can watch them 24/7 to your heart's content, just saying. On the other hand I think it's very rare to be let into the life of an old house like Lalande, which seems to be an endless font of magical discoveries and I hope to see more history, art, restauration, travel adventures, interior design, the quality content that makes this channel different from endless others.
I traveled across Scotland in my 20s, and it was so like the mountains of NC USA. It was magnificent. I understood why Viking ancestors from Ireland, Scotland, and Norway moved to NC. Our Scottish games each summer are fantastic.
It takes vision to undertake work that will take some time to complete. Stephanie, you’ve sustained your vision for many years and you’ve made steady progress. You and all the remarkable people who have added their mark to the Chateau are creating an incredible legacy.

The terrace restoration is exciting and the discoveries even more so. We’ve already had a taste of an amazing restoration with the Chapel. The Chapel will become a destination for people to see the beautiful craftsmanship and to admire the history.

I love the story of the stone on the terrace. You had a David Attenborough moment describing it which was fantastic to hear. (10:49) I've really enjoyed the effort and research you've put into sharing historical information both at the chateau and on other travels.
The Royal Scotsman crashed into the Flying Scotsman??? I don't know that I'd be wanting to travel on a train that crashes into other trains!!! Fingers crossed for a safe journey! The tulip tree of Virginia is an amazingly beautiful and TALL tree, with really exotic green blossoms. With your extensive woodland, I'd obtain a few more of them to plant. Give them lots of room and make sure you have shade-loving plants cultivated withing it's shadow. The renovation of both the fireplace surround and the holy water found for the chapel will be so exciting to see!!! Marvelous!
Just putting this out there… the more space you have around your little tulip tree of Virginia (Liriodendron tulipifera) the better. It will be a spectacular specimen with no other trees or structures to encroach on it. Its blooms are so pretty, its autumnal foliage is your favorite colour, and fairly easy to propagate. It is a sappy tree but great for shade just don’t park a vehicle under it 😂 Have a grand adventure and looking forward to fallow along. 🥰
Sending Love from Michigan! Here we call the tulip tree a Miriam Dendro Tree, also known as a Magnolia tree. From what I have seen where you planted the tree you might want to move it a bit and give it more room to grow, they can grow to be a good size tree. A piece of the Chateau from 1703!!! Thats awesome to hear you have that bowl that old from when the chapel was built. Please you two, stay safe on your trip, have fun and enjoy the world around you.
