Well I hope everyone enjoys this video as it really hits home as to how much work I put into this bike. For those who don't know this was built for a customer of mine so to those who will ask "how much" or "is it for sale" the short answer is no. I am no longer taking on any customer work so this is one of my last works for someone else. Business aside I am very proud of how this bike turned out and what it provided me with in regards to new skills, testing patience, helping build the channel, providing inspiration for others, the list goes on. If you have any questions on specific parts of the bike please know that there are 60+ other videos on the bike showing each step with all parts linked in the descriptions. I restored an original cx650 in 1999. Paid $200. What a nightmare but an amazing machine when it was done. The power it had stunned everyone that rode it. So amazing to see a modern restoration build. Looks beyond amazing and the time and dedication you put into it. Awesome job.

But this is one of the very few that is a true gem in a pile of cracked rocks! I have not seen a single dirty/unpolished/"it'll-do-half-done"/meh.....piece in this build - I tip my (imaginary) hat to you and your craftsmanship. Wow, what a build, not to mention this video, editing, drone footage, music, you nailed it.The attention to detail and skill you have is amazing. Watching you rebuild the engine gave me anxiety. The torque of that V- twin when revving it in the stand is cool, that has to feel awesome under you. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much Mike! These are so fun when they rev and rock sideways. You can feel that coming out of corners and its part of the character of these bikes for sure
I appreciate this motorcycle more than the crotch rockets. The hours of work was done to this is already priceless. Amazing set of skills well done. I wish most major motorcycle manufacturers will make a classic modern bikes like these.
Superb job - I really like your attention to small details, to me they're what separate a good build from a cobbled-together-frankenbike. Love the result and you've given me a few ideas for my own build. Thanks for posting.
This was a truly epic build…. I tried to decide which bit I like the most, but it was impossible as I loved every part. Particular highlights were the exhaust system, seat tray, rear seat hump but really it’s all good. The drama of the fitting and refitting of the modified tank was nearly heart-breaking. I’d be scared to work out how long this all took, but what a result. Were there times half-way through when you wondered if it would ever be finished? Anyhow, very very good job, BJ you should be proud.
Oh it never felt like it would be done. The fuel tank and a carb issue literally added a year to the build. The fuel tank was my biggest regret even though it looks cool. I appreciate it though as yes so much went into it

Another superior custom fabrication built machine. All I can say is WOW! When you first started it up, I was shaking my head right along with you because I was in complete shock about the snappy throttle response it had! If I didn’t know better, hearing that bike coming down the road, I would believe it to be a high dollar Ducati racing bike. I've seen plenty of CX500/650 builds, this is far and away the best I have ever seen! Nice to see the motor getting a refresh, rather than just a coat of paint, and your redesign of the ugly ass-end of the frame is absolutely spot on. Top quality work mate (y)
Very cool to see somebody fabricate on foreign bikes! Only bike fabrication you see is always with Harleys. And I also like the primitive fabrication that you do instead of like these shows that have all this machinery to do stuff for them and all the CNC stuff. Kudos to you for fabricating with minimal machinery and lots of know how.
This is how it is supposed to be done! Nice job. I’ve seen too many nice old bikes being ruined by folks who want to buil a café racer and it comes out reeeaaaal bad.
Thank you! To defend those you speak of we all can't be experts on our first try. My early bikes were not very good by my current standards. We all start somewhere.
Phenomenal. The planning a build of that magnitude must take, even before we consider the impressive skill set displayed leading to your incredible execution. All of which gives a quite stunning result. Kudos sir.

Blown away! Well done man, you did a fantastic job! props to you for seeing it through too, that's a LOT of work with no cut corners. Bravo
Thanks so much!
Gotta say, that CX lump never wins awards in the looks department but you sure as hell made a pretty sexy bike there! Well done!
Well thank you much!
I ride a 2002 cb 500s totally stock Black ⚫️ 14k miles ideal for riding around Irish coast roads.
The cafe bike in the video is an incredible custom build.
Fantastic Job.
Honda needs to sign you up as chief designer, seriously.
Modern day Honda bikes are too Transformer, Plastic, Ant 🐜 like, they need to be cool 😎 your bikes are very cool.
Thank ya much!
I'm just surprised the algorithm hasn't pushed this more to the top. Great work.
One can dream! Thank you though
When I saw you rip that motor down all I can say is wow you have a lot of knowledge and skill
Thanks so much!
This bike is better looking than any I've ever seen
Thanks so much! 🤘🤘
I've seen plenty of CX500/650 builds, this is far and away the best I have ever seen! Nice to see the motor getting a refresh, rather than just a coat of paint, and your redesign of the ugly ass-end of the frame is absolutely spot on. Top quality work mate (y)
Thank you so much Stokie! That means a lot 🙏🙏
I had a CX500 back in the day. Was extremely reliable, but it didn’t look like this one !
Amazing job again.
Thank ya Steve!
Oh man you will love my channel then! Thank you
@@BrickHouseBuilds I actually stumbled onto your channel because I have a 1979 Honda cbx I'm restoring.
@@BrickHouseBuilds you are right about that. But your skillset now is on another level.
Didn't start that way so thank you.
Phenomenal. The planning a build of that magnitude must take, even before we consider the impressive skill set displayed leading to your incredible execution. All of which gives a quite stunning result. Kudos sir.
Thank you Graham! Definitely lots of planning goes into it. Glad you enjoyed!
Your talent and expertise is awesome. We've had both the CX500 and the 650 version and now I wish we had kept the 650.
Thank you!
Sorry I'm late to the party. Your builds are so clean and love that another oldtimer saved from the wrecker but not purist restoration destined to collect dust. Subscribed, just a few videos to catch up now!
Thanks so much Paul!
I daily a cx650. It seems like it's a favorite engine for cafe race builds for some reason.
My deepest respect "young man" for your great work under all aspects. b.r. from Germany 🛠
I appreciate that thank you!
Wow, I mean the attention to detail it’s probably the most impressive thing on an already incredible build. Well done
Thank you so much! I focus hard on the small stuff
WoW So Impresseiv, all this magic WITHOUT machining: no lathe, no milling, pure Magic ! Compliments from Belgium (Europe) !
Thank ya Michel! Luckily now I do have a small lathe which really helps. The shift linkage would have been even better had I had one then
@@BrickHouseBuilds Been trough your chanel Mr Magic !
You're a master in design and mechanics, brilliant show even if you're in the colonies
Glad you enjoyed!
Fantastic modified... and everything perfectly did finished, he is a great bike modification person, Weldone you
Thanks so much!
Absolutely fantastic video, you made that look so easy I would love to do something like that and as for the bike I love it you could make a company doing this full-time making one-off bikes it just looked and sounded fantastic, well-done bro keep it up.
Thank you! This is what I do full time. Brick House Builds is a real business
good to see an old bike have a new lease of life, looks and sounds great.
Thank you much!
BJ, what a fabulous project bike!! I loved the time lapse build and photography, and the music was awesome. You are so talented. Keep it up, BJ!
Many thanks James!
How it should have been built in first place. Big H should bring it back like this. Cracking job matey. 👍
Thank you! I do wonder what a modern CX would look like.
Wow! Awesome build. Awesome, beautiful bike. Super craftmanship. Well done. Stay safe and keep up the good work.
Thank you very much!
I´m very impressed by this conversion. Thanks for charing your video.
All I can really say is wow what an amazing creation you mentioned you are proud of yourself and very deservedly so

I've got it all queued up ready to go!!!! First seconds - love it already!
Sup Mike ;)
🙏 gotta grab the eyeballs!
Sweet , very sweet. I'd be a proud chap if I owned this.
I was a bit cheeky about one of your earlier builds , so I went looking for more recent work and found this.
Well , you nailed it with this one.
Glad you feel this one is an improvement. Like anyone I must start from somewhere but I make sure I always improve
cough cough
The attention to detail is amazing. Watching the engine disassembled was very entertaining
Another gorgeous bike!!!
Thank you much!
You work is mechanical art…beautiful.
@brentbauer8258 thank you 🙏
That my man was a beautiful piece of art , congrats , was absolutely absorbed by the craft of the whole thing !
Well thank you so much and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Woooow!!!!! 1st of all you made it looks so easy to do.... that's not fair😂😅 you got skills. Great job it looks and sounds great. You made it look like a factory-made.... enjoy your hard work and be safe out there!!!🎉
Thank you so much! The factory made point means a lot as OEM fit/finish is something I strive for

Sweet build 🤩
Thanks so much!
I had a CX500 new in 1980. It was a bit of an ugly duckling! But you’ve shown you can turn them into a swan! Brilliant achievement on every technical and aesthetic level👌
Well thank you much! Glad you enjoyed!
Thanks for the inspiration with your epic Build. Has me pumped to crack on with my '83 CX650. Thanks for a great video and setting an amazing looking Bar to aspire to
Thank you! Glad to be able to provide some inspiration!
Most excellent fabrication skills young man. Truly.
Thanks so much! I pushed my skills on this one
wow!!! i really love this build. super nice!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank ya Dennis
I couldnt stop watching.
Thanks for the awesome editing, and that's a great looking finished(?) bike.
There's only one problem l can see.
I'll never get to have a ride on it.....😊 👌👍🍻
Ha glad you enjoyed! Thank you much!
Really nice fabrication on that subframe and swingarm! Not all that complicated but you had the vision to make it look right!
Simplicity at its finest thank you
From one builder to another excellent job my friend.
Thanks so much man!
just finished a resto myself. not NEARLY as in depth as this, but great work! That bike sounds amazing!!!
Thanks Eric!
Had a few CX500's back in the day but never went round corners like that 😆 brilliant job 👍
Ha! Thank you much!
The whole build was genius but I especially like the shifter linkage 🤙
Thank you much! That linkage was very fun to do and really worked well
I watched every second for indications of suckage. None detected. Excellent project and camera work. The payoff at the end was crispy and left me wanting more. The hours of editing were spent well. Noice =)
None suckage means sucess!!! 🤘🤘 Happy you liked it and thank you!
Congrats on finally completing this build, the detail is really on point and build quality is surely 11/10! Thanks for sharing with all of us!
Thanks so much! I went hard on the details and feel it shows
