- Over the past 2 years I have been working on my BMW K100 cafe Racer Build. This is the second cafe racer build I have done and I think the BMW K100 is my favorite motorcycle I have ever own. I enjoy these cafe racer builds so much and I do home you enjoy and fine some inspiration to build your own DIY cafe racer motorcycle.

This is amazing. One of my goals in the future is to build a cafe racer and would love to be able to do it with my sons as well. I just started motorcycling a couple years ago so I have a long way to go. But I do all the maintenance myself so I can learn bit by bit. You’ve definitely inspired me to keep going to one day realize my goal!

I'm watching this with inspiration of building my K1100RS. Thank you so much for the content, and the advice on keeping all original parts. My particular bike is complete and all original, so a great base to start with, thankfully. I'm looking forward to seeing more Bimmer content!
Thanks for waiting! Yeah worst case you send sell the extra parts after the bike is built but I still find stuff from the k100 that ends up going onto other project bikes.
This gotta be 1 of the best step by steps... I love it... although I like your idea of flattening that v out... I did also like the before look... they're both good looks but you got this lookin badass

@@furthernorthfab the builder just abandoned the project due to lack of available time. i purchased all the parts, now i just need the elbow grease. tempted to complete it myself. very daunting task.

Did you have an issue with leaking fuel when you cut the tabs off of the fuel tank? I want to cut the tabs on my bike but I am concerned about leaks. Awesome bike, great job!!
Do you have a link for the 3d printed intake covers? I have a 3d printer and just started my teardown and those seem like they'd be a lifesaver!

I was building a gs550 cafe racer before my last 2 deployments It got stolen while I was gone. I would love to find a k100 or something similar. Would be great to build along side my 328 diesel wagon

I’m 6’5, looking into a cafe racer. Would this bike be good for me, these were one of the motorcycle they said is good for tall people. Love the bike by the way and awesome content
Clip on handle bars that sit up higher and a rearset will definitely make a bike like this easier for you to ride. I have a CB500 cafe racer as well, which would definitely be too small for you. The K100 is a lot bigger of a bike with a lot more says to stretch out for a tall person.
Anyone ditch the FI on these bikes for carbs?
I just think with E10 gas the pump might go bad again.
