CRACKING SCRAMBLED EGGS! | Holiday Inn Express Breakfast Buffet | My daughter tries MARMALADE !

- Like the MacMaster recently, I had cause to book a last minute hotel stay. He went to the regular Holiday Inn, but for me an unscheduled stop at a Holiday Inn Express at least brings the opportunity to try another hotel buffet breakfast!
I've had a couple recently, but how does it compare to Travelodge, Premier Inn or Toby ??
The scrambled eggs look cracking, and today my 9 year old daughter tries marmalade for the first time !!

If you’ve seen my other hotel breakfast videos, how do you think this compares?
I thought it was pretty decent, just could have done with a few more hot options.
Holiday Inn breakfasts are pretty decent as an all you can eat option. I usually stay in the one in Poole when I visit, but when I am down in a couple of weeks I am staying at the Premier Inn off Cabot Lane, so can compare breakfasts too!
Having to downgrade cos of all that Spennymoor Town sponsorship huh 🙂
Was breakfast included if so good value.
As I remember it was (it's a while back, but I think it was)
So many questions! Is Marmalade half Marmite and half lemonade? I've had Marmite before ... once, but I've never had Marmalade. What was the sauce you used with the sausages? Not A-1, right? Is baked beans with breakfast a common British thing? And second to lastly, your bacon is so much better than our bacon. ... And the Toast Stonehenge cracked me up.
Some excellent questions 🙂 Marmalade is kind of like an orange flavoured jam (or jelly as you good folks over the, pond would probably call it!)…it’s sweet but sharp too. Marmite is the food of the gods, although it must be an acquired taste for sure. The most umami of umami flavours. The sauce I used is simply called brown sauce. Your A1 steak sauce would be a pretty good approximation. It’s a ketchup consistency, but made with the addition of dates and molasses with a vinegar kick. Amazing with sausages and bacon. Baked beans are a necessity on an English breakfast in my opinion (and most other Brits opinions too). Our bacon is better than any other bacon, although the Italians run us pretty close, those guys can cure meats! And Toast Stonehenge, that’s a merch idea waiting to happen once I hit the big time 🙂
@@GreenoEats I have become study, thanks for all the great answers! Your brown sauce is better than A-1. You should do a taste test of A-1 sauce, it's awful. Like, seriously, why would anyone ever put that stuff on real meat? Japanese meat sauces, however... chef's kiss! You could do a whole special on meat sauces from around the world. :)
That meal looks pretty bog standard 🤣
Yeah, it was a decent hotel breakfast buffet. Not awful, not spectacular, lacking in hot hot options perhaps. Thanks for watching!
👍👍
Thanks for watching!
I'm your new subscriber 😊
Looks 😋
Yeah, it wasn't bad Sarah! Little'un certainly enjoyed it 🙂
@@GreenoEats that's good 😊
@@sarahillingworth2718 she's only 9, and built like a racing snake, but she'll outdo me at a buffet 😂
@@GreenoEats well I guess she's a growing lass lol 👍
I've been doing the Toast Stonehenge for ages. Maybe we just know best in Dorset...!
Yes, it’s well known all of the finest minds come from our neck of the woods 😂
👍
Thanks for watching!
'are you actually English?' 🤣
Also, where can I visit this famous Greeno Stonehenge??? Looks like a very good breakfast, honestly. Could use some of that
Ha ha - I mean overseas folk think us English sit around drinking tea and eating toast with marmalade right 😂
The famous Greeno Toast Stonehenge is a thing of beauty isn't it! I promise if you try it you will never take toast out and put it flat on a plate again...
Last time I stayed in a holiday inn the breakfast was served in room and was A lot better then this . But I think maybe that have different types of hotel ? Maybe that’s what the difference was
Yeah I think the normal Holiday Inn is a little bit of a step up from their Express hotels.
@@GreenoEats I thought so tho the eggs you had looked good
@@robertholness4709 yeah the eggs I really enjoyed, hotel scrambled eggs are often disappointing but not these ones!
the thing comes is the price. for what you are getting. it was very limited on the hot items.
may be should rank on price vs what you are getting.
toby is unlimited hot food for £5.99. while Brewers fayre is everything including drinks, cereal etc for £9.99
so really the brewers fayre offers more items for the price, but toby is cheaper.
At the Holiday Inn Express it was all in, room and breakfast. Booked at 4.30pm that day, so very last minute. I paid £80 all in, which was actually cheaper than other hotels around who didn’t offer breakfast included. Although I did get stung by an unexpected parking charge, £15 for the night!! 🤬
The cooked stuff looked poor and the scrambled eggs pretty naff 😢
It was a decent if unspectacular hotel buffet breakfast really. Nothing special, but not awful. Thanks for watching!
