*this was live?* omg! as someone else mentioned before: the sound-guy should get an award or a raise or a promotion or whatever! fantsastic job and also well played from the band...!
@@tuetran9212 idk dude, they are both pretty great. Honestly I couldn't choose my favourite out of the 2. But those 2 are definitely my favourite drummers
They've have Jason White playing guitar with them on tour for awhile now. He's even in the Wake Me Up When September Ends Video. Jason Freese is the guy on keys who's been touring with them for as long as you've been asleep too lol XD In the Bullet In A Bible concert video Freese does the horns in King For A Day.
We are definitely experiencing a new renaissance with this band. 2 things will remain true and consistent with all the other times they’ve pulled this off in their career. 1) catchy tunes 2) a wave of new fans... it’s because off this cross-boundary musical philosophy that they are legends in the game
I think the second song released "Fire Ready Aim" is even better. I seriously cannot wait for the full album. It's like a punk blues thing going on and I'm all for it!
These guys are so great. All of my friends who've seen them live say you cannot believe how great they are when they're standing right in front of you, howling on stage. I promise myself not to miss their show this time out. #GreenDay
I fucking love this band! Love Howard Stern interviews as well :) This performance blows the roof of the place! Can’t wait to see them in London and Huddersfield next year :) so excited haha!
One of the first albums I ever bought was Green Day’s Dookie back in ‘94. I was in 5th or 6th grade. Crazy to see them still evolving as musicians. salute!
Heard this on the radio, a few times. I love it.but had to do research to see if it was indeed billy. So dope. Hope this album brings back memories for my USMC childhood friend. Love you Mitchell...
Janitor sounds like someone that just mops the floors and empties the trash, lol. I remember they called them "custodians" at my high school and they did all sorts of stuff, waxed the floors, minor repairs, rearranged classrooms, stuff like that.
I'm still not 100% sold on this song yet, and if the new album is more stuff like this, well, I think I might go back to listening to insomniac and nimrod and think about when I didn't know what they'd be like in the future. Still here, still playing, almost 50. We love you Billie and co.
How are these guys so good live even after all these years? Seriously, I like the studio version a lot, but it doesn't hold a candle to this performance.
90s billie - high on stage
2019 billie - high vocals
😂true
Better good
Lol
Yes.
My boys have grown up
It's weird seeing him without a guitar while performing.
Cicjob oh yeah it is. I wondered why he was just standing there lol
It's been a thing he does for some of their faster songs since American Idiot came out. It happens.
Havent seen St. Jimmy? Jaded? Nope?
Dammit when i read your comment i realize that
He even done it back in the 90s since he only performed Jaded
Billie doesn't have a guitar
Mike is wearing sleeves
Tré doesn't have coloured hair
Something is wrong
Billie hitting that high note was unexpected but cool at the same time. The man is almost 50 and still showing he got it
Kyle Jones shit ton of effects on his mic mate!!
43

Is it it just me or is song live so much better than the studio version? Because I kinda enjoyed this but I hate the song
Sorry i can't like, you have 69 likes
Tre's drums though.. 🔥
Tre Cool > Travis Barker
Vi Tu - amen. There's a reason his last name is Cool...
Vi Tu idk bout that , that’s a tough statement
@@tuetran9212 idk dude, they are both pretty great. Honestly I couldn't choose my favourite out of the 2. But those 2 are definitely my favourite drummers
I think he meant how they sounded, the mixing on this is amazing.
How much did I sleep that I didn't see Green Day turn from 3-member-band to 6?
Since 2004.
Probably for more depth in their music nowadays.
14 years maybe.
It's session musicians
They've have Jason White playing guitar with them on tour for awhile now. He's even in the Wake Me Up When September Ends Video. The mixing here is waaaaaay better than the studio version
Sean Brennan agreed live is way better
I agree
Sean Brennan no
Agree although that does seem to be Butch Walker's stock sound.
Am i the only one that likes "Fathet Of All"?
Man this sounds so much better live than the studio recording.
Howard always seems to have incredible sound for musical performances in his studio, really top notch
I don’t know why people are surprised that this is live ...... they’ve been doing amazing live sets forever
Honestly, this is the best version of that song.
Drums sounded like "Fire" by Jimi Hendrix - I dug it.
Yup
Ziontrainism the whole arrangement does.
I commented on Billies instagram page asking if Hendrix inspired this song.
Yeah well that’s just like your opinion man
THANK YOU. Someone else that got the same idea. Mad respect to this comment ima Hendrix fan all the way
This souds amazing, so much better than the studio version, wich is great too.
Sound engineer is absolutely amazing
Damn this is such a good performance of this song
I always love Howard's reactions in the endings cause they're so real.
We are definitely experiencing a new renaissance with this band. 2 things will remain true and consistent with all the other times they’ve pulled this off in their career. 1) catchy tunes 2) a wave of new fans... it’s because off this cross-boundary musical philosophy that they are legends in the game
I love the high pitch vocals and screams
Sound person needs a raise
has that feel like Hendrix’s Fire.
I thought the same thing the first time I heard it. I'm expecting a lawsuit.
Yes the drums for sure
MrScott99 Yes same intro. There is also another song like that by a band called The Computers.
The guitar and drums is literally the same during the verse
Yoooooooooooooo, facts
The whole time I was just afraid he was going to choke on his gum.
Dave Grohl taught him well!
That's his dentures
Same
This just makes me want to watch them live at Woostock 1994.
The lead Guitarist who always plays with them live, should be made a permanent band member he deserves to be!
He already was from 2012 to 2016, then he kinda stepped out and went back to tour guitarrist.
CRAZY PERFORMANCE! the only band in the world that sounds much better live than in the studio. love them so much!
A little different from the normal Green Day but I like it
Yeah, good job bois. Liked this track a lot!
Hated it at first but it's grown on me for sure. Loving this performance of it too. Sounds great.
@@velcrofox8159 That's actually a very interesting take. I can vision the offspring doing something like this.
@@phlhoran12396 same. It's still not my favorite but it's grown on me.
@@velcrofox8159 especially the beginning
Great track. They're definitely evolving
We are rivals with the riot inside us. This is one of the greatest Rock and Roll bands ever. The Fathers of Pop Punk.
I think i love this song. Great job Green Day. See you in Singapore 🇸🇬 2020.
Love from Malaysia 🇲🇾 🤟🏼
I like how Howard always seems sincere with his praises.
1:38 Damn!!!!¡ Tré's face tho!🤩😅
Now we’re talking!!! This is the absolute BEST version of this candy pop punk song 🤘🏼The definite version
Love this tune. Best green day song I’ve heard in years.

2:05 OH MY GOD 👏💚
Green Day on Howard Stern rocks! My favorite live “version” of GD. The sound quality is on point just like in 2016. Great job to everyone involved 👍
I actually really enjoy Billie hitting those high notes. Sounds good with his voice.
0:26 When Billie realizes he has a lot of money :D
He's so down to earth, despite being a millionaire, I love it 😊👌
Green Day sure knows how to make catchy songs.
They excel themselves every time. The experts are back!! 🔥🔥👌💥💥
I agree
Billie Joe looks a little lost onstage without his guitar.
Nonetheless, this is still a good song!!
Max Romero *Billie
@@definitelydebra1531 Thanks
There are a bunch of GD songs where Billie doesn't play the guitar onstage. King for a day, St. Jimmy, etc
I like how happy they look when they play this song lol
Looks so weard that billie dosen`t have his guitar
dosen`t
Yea, but why? Did he hurt his hand?
Weird*
Weard? 😂☠
Weird

As Howard said it Beautiful!!!!
They rock but he looks so weird not playing guitar
I don't mind, as long as Billie Joe and Green Day are back! 🔥🔥
Love that they've included the longshot guitarist in the band!

This song has such a nostalgic vibe to it. Love it.

I usually can't gauge a new song by hearing it for the first time live but I can see this song in all of my playlists ASAP
Damn, they are tight! Sound great!

Good to see them jamming out good music again
God this track was made to be performed live! Love it here!

Fucking amazing wow. Never seen them before. love their music i have always pictured them as young kickass tough punks.
That was their whole shtick until here recently, but you know they're all almost 50 years old now. They're evolving and so is their music.
This song has HIT written all over it, and they sound INCREDIBLE!! Wow....
Haven't heard any of this groups music in years...couldnt believe this shit!
Amazing! These guys never disappoint us:)
Last time I was this early there only 3 members of Green Day.
What a fun surprise! Loved it 🤟🏼
Love this band. Their new sound is huge, amazing guitar sound and tre it's killing it as well. Rock n roll baby
The drummer looks like he's having so much fun
More green day clips please
Damn, the sound of that bass 🔥

It's a decent song. But it sounds like there were too many cooks in the kitchen while writing it

They're like wine, they get better with age

Wow! Such an insanely awesome new approach at the vocals. Keep it up Billy Joe Armstrong 🤘
