Thanks for all the sweet messages! My name is Julia Adriana not Julia Adrian♥️ But it warms my heart to read the messages and this was the first french song I sang in my life so I’m gonna work on that accent if there ever comes a new occasion ♥️
For a non-native listener, your French sounds already very good :) You have a very beautiful voice, too and the performance is overall convincing. Congratulations! :) I bet it was nice to get to sing Voilá on a big stage.
She clearly isn't a native french speaking person and that's why I admire her performance. Singing in French and in this particular "Edith Piaf" kind of way is very difficult to master so she deserves a round of applause. (And I like her accent, it's adorable)
@@xavgieling pretty much all stand-in performers are from the host country, theyre not gonna ship people in from other countries unless they absolutely have to lol
What a beautiful performance! Definitely noticeable she's not a native French speaker, but it gives an interesting dimension the song, and the singing is absolutely spot on!
@@---oi5zi well, I'm not native in french or anything, but I can hear that some of the pronunciations aren't quite right/ it sometimes sounds a bit off. The more french you know the more of these "mistakes" you can probably hear.
Hello there ! Here's a French person by. Julia's accent is really nice and every word is clearly understandable, without almost any mistake. This is an outstanding performance, and I totally love it
This performance shows that the eurovision is the contest of the song Not the artist Cause so different unique artists still give u the same amazing feeling during listening
The final performance is better in my opinion, better camera shots and more intimate. But why, why, WHY did they not keep the shot with all the birds in the final performance? That looked so good!
@@RodyTheRoad Yes indeed, you could also see from the one angled camera, that Barbara wanted to have a more personal touch om the performance and keep the camera to her and nowhere else.
This. Is. Amazing. Easily one of the best stand-ins I've seen - similar enough to the original from Barbara but different enough to bring new emotions and delivery to the performance. Obsessed!!
Damn this voiceeeeeeeeeeeeeee I adore it like...... How?? 😂 Julia, if you see this, then your voice is everything and you should try to make the most of it. DAMN YOUR VOICE IS EXTRAORDINARYYYYYYYYYY
Her voice is deeper and richer compared Barbara's. Because of that, it changes the interpretation of the song a little bit. As Barbara's began vulnerable and innocent, slowly becoming braver and courageous. Her's started angry and confused, slowly becoming somewhat commanding and sassy
It is different, but yes, with the sense of the whole text Barbara's interpretation is closer to what we could think of the song. Though it is her song so she brings it the way she wants to do. The song's meaning is bringing bravoury by delivering herself in front of people. The last chorus is when she finds enough trust to go entirely on stage, but before she is hesitating, and expressing fear. This one is very different but truely more confident, less intimate. It stays technically amazing and the vocals are spot on !
@@Casr7_ i promise you that the proximity nor being part of France in the past doesn’t make us better French speakers. We must not forget that Dutch and French aren’t related at all and one is Germanic and one is Latin. :)
@@stanwilis3136 The Netherlands native population is 60% Franks, 30% Saxons and 10% Frisians. The Franks had lived north of the Rhine in the Netherlands and in the area from Cologne to Frankfurt along the Rhine. The Romans had a major road from Cologne over Aachen - Maastricht - Tongeren - Brussels to the Channel coast near Dunkirk. To the north was an area the Romans left in the 3rd century AD and was turned into an empty waste land, to the south people lived who spoke a Latin / Celtic mixture. When the Franks crossed the Rhine and entered Gaul, the language of those who settled in the empty waste lands evolved from speaking Old Frankish into Old Dutch, the Franks who crossed the Roman road from Cologne to the Channel, began to adopt the local Latin / Celtic language albeit with a lot of Old Frankish words. That language evolved into Old French and later in modern French or French dialects like Walloon and Ch'tis (Pas du Nord French dialect with a lot of Flemish influences).
For anyone asking why they have these stand-in rehearsals, this is how I have interpreted it. Hope it makes sense to you all :) So basically it is used for the camera work and lighting and all those kinds of effects. Since it is difficult to bring all the artists to the ESC stage weeks before the competition, these stand-in singer (usually young, local singers) preform all the competitor's songs. Sometimes they sing themselves, but if there are pre-recordings which are preferred to be used, they can lip-sync. When they have preformed, the video is sent to the actual singer and his/her crew in order for them to have an opinion about the staging, etc. This makes the process much quicker and smoother when the original singer/group makes it to the arena for the first time to preform. It is almost like 70% of the work is finished and the artists will just polish it a bit more the final week before competition time :)
That makes sense. I was thinking it was in case every other option got screwed over so these people would be the last solution just to still have a performance.
