  • The Metabo HPT 36V MultiVolt Cordless 1-1/8” SDS Plus Rotary Hammer (model DH36DPA) provides corded performance with the convenience of a cordless tool. Also, with any Metabo HPT tool, you can use the corded adapter so in reality, it is a 2-in-1 tool.
The Metabo HPT 36V MultiVolt Cordless 1-1/8” SDS Plus Rotary Hammer is compact & lightweight with plenty of power to drill up to a 9/16" hole in concrete quickly. The Brushless motor in this Rotary Hammer delivers high impact energy of 2.2 ft-lbs and fast drilling speeds with no load of 1,100 RPM and 4,300 BPM.
This tool has 3 modes, drilling, hammering & hammer drilling, and a responsive single or two-finger variable speed trigger. The on-tool LED light is convenient when working in dark spaces.
Most importantly, users can work safely if the tool bit is suddenly overburdened during operation as the Reactive Force Control (RFC) automatically engages and stops the motor before the entire tool becomes uncontrollable.
For a cleaner and safer work environment, a cordless dust extraction
attachment for this tool is sold separately (part # 402976M). Or the rotary hammer can connect to a vacuum or dust extractor using the optional accessories (115451M or 308776).
The Rotary Hammer is backed by Metabo HPT’s 1-Year warranty and 2-year Lithium-Ion battery warranty.

Love Metabo HPT tools, I have the smaller version sds and have absolutely run the crap out of it with zero issues. The brand is way under rated.

Is the smaller version 18v or 36?

As an Electrical apprentice, I started out with Milwaukee tools and a Ridgid SDS. While I like the Ridgid and the price point was better than Milwaukee, it gets the job done. The companyi work for has a metabo impact driver and I used to drive tamcons and I fell in love immediately. It’s lightweight and faster, so I started doing research and saw that Lowe’s carry it. I purchased the 4 tool kit for $199 sales price and I haven’t looked back and I’m looking to get the sds which is on sale for $299. It’s a grab. Looking forward to give you more feedback

I’ve dogged mine, love it. The one year warranty vs lifetime on all their other tools are because they get beat up and covered in concrete dust, same reason their grinders have a 1 year warranty, they stay covered in all sorts of different material and end up in the same situation. As a long time hitachi power tool/metabo HPT user, this gives me no pause and because everyone uses red or yellow, I can keep up with my own tools and know that they’re better than most other tools on the job. Just facts here lol.

The 1 year warranty is kind of a turn off, but they priced it really well compared to DeWalt/Milwaukee, and I haven't had a metabo hpt tool fail me yet so I might get one if I ever have a job to justify a new tool

I just got the 2912-20 last week, that's what this is clearly aimed at, another one thats out now and kind of being overlooked is the flex FX1551A, would like to see the three of them tested together along with makita's 40v offering and dewalt's DC273, my money is already down on red.

Hitachi has a whole line of SDS drills for ages. This one is nearly identical to the old 18v version.

I wonder how this compares to Milwaukee's M28 Fuel 0757-22? Since its a 28V and the Metabo is 36V.

The 36V SDS Max has more power better blade speed and a deeper depth of cut
It has replaced my Milwaukee so I imagine the SDS Plus 36V would probably be the same
The UVP also makes using them much less jarring

In the video, you mentioned that the max capacity of the rotary hammer is 1-1/8” and then proceeded to mention that half of that is generally the average size that the user will employ. While that may be true in some cases, I disagree with the method of testing (using 9/16” and smaller). If the machine performs well, or even adequately, at max capacity, it should be understood/ implied that it will perform better and/or have an easier time with anything smaller. Granted, I agree with testing multiple sizes and scenarios, but excluding the max capacity claimed by the manufacturer seems a little bit off in an otherwise good video.

Hey yall, this can be used as a regular drill (fwd and reverse), correct? Looking for something super overkill for the times when my 18v drills are slow.

I just bought it yesterday..but in asian called hikoki 36v DH36DPA..its powerfull & amazing..its better than milwaukee m18 chxp rotary hammer drill when coring 100mm size..but a little bit heavy when use 4ah 36v / 18v 8ah multivolt battery

If u need a good portable band saw the 36V Metabo HPT SDS Max has replaced my Milwaukee as has the triple Hammer, hammer drill, SDS Max rotary hammer, grinder, full size table saw, mitre saw, full size plunge router, awesome new rear handle left side framing saw and some others-the nailers are still top of game after 25+ yrs of dominance(Hitachi)

I dont like 36V version since I.m tylored for the 18V system and have tons of those batteries. I'll stick with tools that only ever require 18Volts. Tnx.
