good video. i really like the detailed interior (i am so bad at it). the terracotta designs are very cool. maybe you could improove the statics of the building a bit (it would instantly colapse in real live). was it intended to be a mix of gothic and romanic architecture?
I am glad you liked it IronMan. That is very observant seeing the two styles, it was based on the main church building at Buckfast Abbey, so I didn't really design it just interpreted it into Minecraft as best I could, with a little artistic licencing. I looked it up and the notes state its a mixture of Romanesque and Gothic, but it was built over a long time period so perhaps plans and styles changed during construction. Also I don't know if some of the church remained after dissolution, where they started deconstructing the original buildings, and reusing the stone elsewhere before starting to rebuild it a few hundred years later. You got a good eye. I see you have some great cathedral builds yourself! Very Nice
Wow. When I seen the RUclips short I didn’t quite realise the insane details on the inside 😮. I love to recreate cathedrals in Minecraft so I know how long this must’ve taken. It’s very impressive

It is meant to be Buckfast abbey, well one of the buildings. I looked at your bell pulling (I don't know if that's what its called) it looks like quite an operation, good on you matey keeping the old traditions alive.

Is this a mod doing the building?
Yes, Good question. I used a printer mod that takes a schematic and places blocks close to your player, then I have many models to get the various stages of the build.

@@heh9177 I've never used mcpe, but I think you have the same world height as the Java Edition and the same blocks so you could do it yes. It probably took me about 30 evenings to design this and I was working in creative so didn't need to gather blocks. Good luck, send us a picture of your build!

@@droidio3244 thank you! I am actually building it in survival! I am working from the bottom up, I have the floor finished and it is massive. It’s around 300 blocks in length.
That is impressive, that is a lot of glazed terracotta. And now you have much sand/sandstone mining to do!

Hi, Sure I'll try. I started by designing the front while looking at images of the actual Buckfast Abbey, I work out the parts for just one section of arches in the main space, with the side aisle. Once I have a pattern for the arches and aisles I can copy it out and rotate it and I have my basic, cross shape in plan. I then fill in the sides and back copying the small tower pattern from the front. The big tower is just a box stuck on top with windows, but I made the arches that support these thicker so it felt like it was being held up. Inside detail and furniture I left until last. After I have my design I save it as a number of litmatica models that I can build and record in place. Glad you liked it.

If I make a tutorial or release the schematics I'll be sure to let you know. I'd have to think about how to do it, obviously a block by block tutorial wouldn't work. If people keep asking me I might try and do one where I show parts like, how I've done a windows. I take it you like it!?
