Woodturning Night Lamp (with Colored Pencils)

- Welcome to today's colorful woodturning project! For the top part of this piece, I combined coloring pencils and white resin, which give the product a unique look when it lights up. I made the base of the product from ordinary wood blanks, which together with the top part give the whole product a nice form.

Interesting idea and appreciate the attention to detail using the wood slivers to separate the pencil layers. One thing I would have changed is putting the next layer of pencils not lined up right above the previous layer, but in between, so that the pattern looks like a honeycomb vs a grid.

Overall I really love the concept and execution! I'm not an expert, but I've been woodturning for about seven years now. I'm not sure if you sell projects like these, but two things that could majorly increase retail value would be:
1. Tighter glue up / planing the wood to avoid gaps at the seams
2. Higher grit finish + polishing.
Resin is especially unforgiving with scratch marks, so I'd recommend taking it up to 2k grit then buff it.
Also, my favorite wood finish is using oil to wet-sand starting at 1k grit. Something about the oil + sawdust makes it super next level. Glass smooth, rich grain, and it looking down the length makes the surface look like a mirror!
