ive been drawing for almost 10 years now (3 Seriously) and i dont know why using reference felt like im not skilled at all.... hope i can get rid of that stupid feeling someday
It really depends how you "use" the reference. If you use it to make sure your anatomical details are correct then it is fine but if you simply trace over the photo, and worse color sample the photo, then it is cheating.
It is okay to do both of those things for studying purpuses on your own, such as, like you said, analyse anatomy or study how and artist you like treats colour. What is not okay is to upload it to ig and claim it as yours. Big difference
Ai is also a great souce of inspiration. Combine with your art knowledge and real reference can create insane artwork

Is it cheating using multiple artworks from different artists as reference?
You can use anything as a reference and inspiration. Just make sure if you copy art for learning purposes to not claim it as your own. 🙂
