Zoey 102 is just watching someone who is stuck in high school and hung up on her high school relationship.
AND I LOVE IT in a masochistic way.
I hate how they ruined their high school relationship. Like, it’s easy to just say they stayed together for a while, but they grew apart when they went to college. It’s so out of character to have her abandon him. The whole thing seemed poorly planned and turned all the people except maybe Quinn and Logan into mean, toxic people.

NGL, it's kind of hilarious how a lot of the actors in these movies where the book or movie is controversial, often actually hate the thing they're acting in. And like, this isn't to say that every actor has to love the roles they're in, a lot of people do it for a paycheck and to pay off things like houses, or divorces or whatever. But like we saw this with the Twilight films, the 50 Shades of Grey films and most likely, the After series.

Original post: Seems like a good time to remind (or inform) everyone that Jamie Lynn spent her time off screen harassing Alexa Nikolas (Nicole), pitting the entire cast and crew against her, and don't forget the whole show was produced by Dan Schneider.
Jamie Lynn is trash, Dan Schneider belongs in jail, and the show definitely didn't deserve a reboot.
The craziest part was the fake boyfriend being the serial killer at the end.
So weird to see Austin Butler go from one episode of zoey 101 to sharpays adventure to Elvis

I would argue that Victorious, Side Hustle, I Am Frankie, The Barbarian and The Troll, Supah Ninjas and The Astronauts deserve a revival more than Zoey 101 or Ned's. At least those shows HAD proper endings.
I know it's not possible for either of them to get a revival. Victorious is the oldest of my examples, therefore the most popular. And yet, who knows if they can even afford to get Ariana to do a cameo? In spite of the problems with all of my examples, especially Supah Ninjas, I believe they deserve it compared to shit like Planet Sheen that deserves to be forgotten.

I don't if anyone remembers that show but I definitely do, I still watched it and it definitely has every opportunity to be great like Victorious. Also Victorious didn't have a proper ending, it was cancelled abruptly. Even if they have a proper ending, it would've been a graduation from the school
No but Hollywood has decided they'd rather just dig deeper and deeper into the old IP barrel than make anything new. Maybe in 2050 they'll finally reach the bottom and something new can happen...who am I kidding they'll just bust out Fullest House.

I didnt watch zoe 101, but i didnt have cable,so i wouldnt know.
It's always such a wild choice when shows/movies have the "they were high school sweethearts and are reconnecting as adults" plotline and they actively choose to have one or both of the characters be in relationships and cheat on their current partner(s) with this person they haven't seen in 10+ years. Like, why would you do that when you could very easily just... not??? I know it adds drama or whatever, but it just feels so unnecessary and actively makes the characters much less likeable/sympathetic. (And I still think that this critique applies here, because if Chase and his gf were already broken up it is just all the more unnecessary for her to even exist in the story tbh.)
Everything I've learned about Ned's declassified podcast has been entirely against my will. One short 15 second TikTok sound and now I have learned things I never wanted to know. 😭
It honestly isn't a podcast about the show any more. I enjoyed the first few episodes but it turned into a group hang with Ned's as the connecting thread pretty fast. That's not saying it's bad or not about the show at all; but it certainly isn't a basic recap + background info podcast any more. It's not bad, just not for me.

It is genuinely entertaining and they do stay on theme with Neds somewhat by dropping their adult life experiences and having other former cast members come on and explain how their lives have been since. It's definitely a "just old childhood friends gathering to shoot the shit" type of vibe, but idk. I like that about them. Yeah they get into TMI topics sometimes but it's never like... Bad or gossipy. It all just has "this one time at band camp" energy among old buds lol. Thinking about it, that BJ bit is the raunchiest its gotten from what I've watched anyway.
They have definitely said some… interesting things 😂 but I’ll still take that over the zoey reboot
There is an episode of BoJack Horseman where BoJack claims nobody wants to hire him and he proposes a Horsin Around revival, which no one asked for but he insists is what people needs.
Somehow, that episodes lives free in my mind, because it happens like once per month

The way they try to retcon the end of the show for this reboot to exist is so funny bc the show literally ends with zoey and chase getting together and they were together at graduation, the show literally wraps up in a neat little bow so there’s really no reason for this to exist in the first place

Tbf Paul Butcher was rightfully upset when he found out that Jaime Lynn paid a bunch of influencers to be in the “reboot” music video scam she pulled but didn’t want to pay the rest of the cast. He called Nickelodeon about it and that’s how he found out the project wasn’t affiliated with them. Of course he wasn’t going to work with her after that lol

I loved Nichol on the show and was bummed she didn't make an appearance, although I understand completely why that was considering how horribly the actress, Alexa Nikolas was treated on the show and why she was eventually written out. How she was essentially bullied by Jaime Lynn Spears, who by all accounts was a nasty piece of work, and how she basically lied about being tormented by Alexa and got her sister Brittany to scold her.
iirc (correct me if i’m wrong with this) even Brittany has apologized yet Jamie doesn’t even bother, i swear nothing good comes out of her i’m actually shocked someone can be this disgusting as jamie
I really enjoyed the other zoey as a fun, lighthearted rom-com and liked seeing Josephine Langford in a more comedic role! Definitely better than Zoey 102 haha
It feels like the script for The Other Zoey was lifted out of While You Were Sleeping.
Zoey 102 felt like it was three hours long and was so horribly written it was painful to watch

The guy who plays James (dude Zoey dates before she realizes she has feelings for Chase) is literally Austin Butler. Like Elvis Austin Butler. I remember thinking he was a TERRIBLE actor when he was on Zoey 101. Now he’s an academy award nominated actor. Wild.
I watched The Other Zoey and I thought it was cute. It didn't start off well, though. The movie literally opens with that girl presenting misinformation in a university setting and when Josephine Langford's character calls her out on it, the professor turns on Josephine for some reason, and accuses her of not believing in love. What professor isn't going to penalize a student when she admits that she presented incorrect information because it fit her narrative better???? After that, the movie was kooky, but not bad.
The second I learned her sister was on her parents side even back then, I stopped watching the show. I yelled at the tv. You're only here because of your sister. How her some respect

Whats worse about the zoey 102 reboot is that there was a video like 2 years ago with them talking about opening the time capsule they had put and it was gonna be Chase going back after Zoey cause i think in that video that had dated and broken up......but then we never got a part 2 and got this movie instead 💀💀💀💀💀 and now it feels like that video was just a fever dream

I watched a LOT of family channel in my late teens and found the staged sitcoms really comforting. I liked Miley and Selena, they were exceptionally talented.
Things were bleak, but never bleak enough to watch Zoey 101.

I grew up with Zoey 101 and yet the only episodes I remember is the last one where Chase suddenly appears after not being present for a whole season. And the goddamn JetX episode.
Young me had never been more FREAKIN' jealous that these girls had all got a shiny new moped FOR FREE and could just drive them around campus with no safeguarding issues.
Zoey 101 is pure nostalgic for me . That’s why I still love it, despite all that sh*t happened bts. But this reboot was totally unnecessary. In 2015 they released a short film which catches up the plotline with the timecapsule (10 years earlier the kids had this idea and Zoey did a DVD talking abt her friends. Chase wanted to know what she was talking abt him but waited the 10 years). If I remember it correctly Chase wanted to propose to his girlfriend in a café until Michael storms in and says that’s been 10 years and they finally can dig up that capsule. So Chase breaks up with his gf and ran away. After the short movie fans waited patiently for them to release a second part, but it never happened. 2 shortfilms catching up that storyline would’ve been enough, there was never a need to do a whole movie, especially not when part of the story is that the PCA was closed bc of illegal stuff. And don’t get me started on that shitty „Follow me“ remix. All fans ever wanted was the original to stream and all we ever got was this shit show 💀

I didn’t realize how much I need Amanda to react to the craziness of Outer Banks until she reacted to this movie with Drew Starky, aka Rafe Cameron.
I first saw him and had to pause and rewire my brain into remembering this isnt Rafe (as he is my absolute least favorite character in the entire show. Honestly a lot weren't my cup of tea except for JJ).

The 101 in the title is a reference to her room number, so even the 201 wouldn’t make much sense. Not that making it sound like an intro course made much sense anyway because they’re in middle school lol
Watching this video made me realize that I remember NOTHING about Zoey 101 except for a few faces, despite having watched like every episode when I was a kid. I didn’t even remember that Victoria Justice was on it. 😅
I remember like one thing, that they were fighting in one episode because one wanted to dry her hair and the other wanted to sleep longer and in the end Quinn invented this leafblower hairdrayer or whatever that was silent 😂 thats about it (oh and that she strips meat off a bone with coca cola in one scene but I don't remember what that was about)

The faux Aussie is Dean Geyer, an actor originally from South Africa whose family moved to Australia when he was still young. Aussies know him from Neighbors and Australian Idol. Americans may know him as Brodie, Rachel Berry's gigolo boyfriend on Glee. He dated a member of The Veronicas (remember The Veronicas?!) before marrying Jillian Murray, aka Portlyn from Sonny with a Chance.

Yeah, of course she was always actually really pretty, and its just the character she played was meant to be seen as weird and unattractive, but there's something funny about her easily aging the best out of the entire present cast by far. Not that most of the others look bad to begin with, especially for what, mid 30s. Except Jamie herself, the years have not been kind...

I agree, however that mentality from us is exactly why Hollywood refuses to take risks these days and only goes for rebooting IPs. We need to show them we want more from our entertainment than memberberries.
The Other Zoey just got made so Joesphine can finally break out that " After" derailment, and resurect her career a bit. After was so bad that she left and HardIn had to finish it without her :)

Yea, it's sorta ironic that this came out around when Jamie's reputation was already in the toilet due to the feud with her sister (which a lot of people sided with Britney on anyway), plus the reports of her behavior around the time on this show's initial run. Not quite the best timing there.

This would be a really cool movie if the other Zoey was aroace and could explore that instead of it being this whole love-meiser schtick. Like they made the guy poly, and he could’ve talked about it too as like a “yeah poly works for our relationship because I’m aroace and she’s not. So we meet each others emotional needs, and any physical needs she gets through other partners”. Like it’s there barely below the surface and would’ve make characters more likeable

While you were sleeping is one of my favorite movies so The other Zoey just won a place in my heart 😂, now for Zoey 102, I used to really like the show when it was airing but it wasn't super special or anything, and to have waited for Zoey and Chase to get together only to separate them (because of nothing lol) and getting them back together in the reboot is like.. why? 🙃
