I love Saito engines. I have them in nearly all of my planes. You will love that Saito 82. That's a nice looking Spitfire. Good luck with that. Im flying 38 years and sad to say ive never had a Spitfire, but your video has wet my appetite. Thanks for sharing, i enjoyed watching this very much. Regards Aidan.
@@GeoffreyWilson-z7m great that’s good to know. I’m actually struggling to get mine to take off without it sticking the nose in the ground, so haven’t even flown it yet! Did you have to add a load of nose weight like I have? Cheers 🍻
Yes they are very nose heavy I had to put a peice of lead in the cowl. mine is the same it noses over to easy you need a super smooth runway im lucky my local has mituman even then it's abit tricky. I sanded the tail wheel down and bent the tail wire up to bring the tail closer to the ground that helped abit. the problem is the way they set up the under carage . The front wheel axles should be inline wit h the trailing edge of the wing but unfortunately they are back hence the tipping if you could modify this I think it would make this alot better im yet to tackle this myself . but yes on the ground it's abit tricky but once in the air it really is a great flyer the engine is perfect for this plane !! Good luck mate 👍
@@GeoffreyWilson-z7m ok glad it’s not just mine then. I will have a look at the tail wheel and see what I can do. I’m flying off grass 😬. Thanks a lot for the tips 👍🏻
my first rc plane was a saito 40. it was used and gummed up and fully seized so i disassembled it and put it back together and it started first time and idled like clockwork. popped it into a P51 designed for a '60 size' and it flew like a champ!.
