On AP, the smoothness is just ridiculous. Surprised you compared Affinity on iPad to PS on surface. Wouldve been better comparing apples to apples.
I was very very skeptical of affinity photo before I tried it. Now it’s all that I use for photo editing on both iPad and Windows. I agree that it’s better than photoshop on MANY levels......way cheaper, too.
@@Unkn0wnC0mmand Im fascinated to hear how you have AP on the 2 platforms and interested to hear your opinion. Are they exactly the same in terms of features? Do you use AP on a surface pro or a work station? Based on your experiences could you do away with the windows version?
McobraR so, I started with AP on the 2017 iPad Pro 12.9 and loved the app but got really frustrated with how iOS handled external storage. Due to processing power and ease of using external storage, I bought it for Windows on my Surface Book 2. I shoot with a Sony A7R3, so the raw files are around/north of 100 MB per photo uncompressed. The 2017 iPad wasn’t super super smooth with photos this big but usable- MUCH more usable than other products for photo editing on iOS; however the Surface Book 2 chewed through anything I threw at it via AP with perfect fluidity. Enter the 2018 iPad Pro. The 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 actually geekbenches higher than the Surface Book 2 on both single core (around 1000pts) and multicore (around 4000pts), so AP on it is a very different experience than the 2017 iPad Pro, so much more fluid that it has become my default device for photo editing. I’ve changed around my workflow some and am now utilizing a network drive to move photo files around after editing, so my iPad workflow is this: Use SD card reader to Import photos into camera roll in their own import folders (albums) to keep them separate from my normal camera roll, edit in AP, export to “edited” camera roll folder (album), upload “edited” folder (album) to network drive, delete import and edited folder from iPad since I no longer need these files on the device. Utilizing this workflow, I spend about the same time editing as I do on the Surface Book 2, but with a more fluid experience, better battery life/mobility, and I prefer the Apple Pencil 2. Between windows and iOS AP is essentially identical. Only difference with Windows is you have more freedom of import and export locations and can directly edit from a wired drive. So if you already have a Windows Surface Book 2/Surface Pro, it’s not worth getting an iPad just for AP on it and likewise if you have an iPad you don’t gain anything by buying a Surface device for AP. I’d get it on whatever platform you own and either is phenomenal. That being said, if you’re working with huge raw files and multiple layers, iPad Pro 2018 provides a WAY better experience than iPad Pro 2017 or earlier. This new iPad CPU and GPU are truly powerful. So in summary AP is great on all platforms and you can do the exact same things on Windows vs iOS. If I could pick one device to use AP on it would be a 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 with Apple Pencil 2, with the Surface Book 2 with Surface Pen being a close second. The only thing I miss from the SB2 is the larger screen size and widescreen video output from USB C port.
@@Unkn0wnC0mmand Thanks alot for that comparison. Microsoft offers additional Surface Pen tips so using the pen could feel different. Also the Surface Pro storage capacity could be easily expanded by using a relative cheap MicroSD card… . iPad is fine but can't replace a Laptop or a Desktop computer while the Surface Pro can be both and replace an iPad. And that magnetic Surface Connector is something I dreamed of while I was using my now replaced MacBookPro...
@@litjellyfish is right. And I had the Surface Pen and used it for a year with my Pro 4. With different nibs. All of them kind of suck. The soft ones feel like drawing with an eraser, the hard ones feel like they are gonna scratch your screen any moment. The Apple Pencil is also on the hard side but it has great functionality, much less lag, greater accuracy and less wobble than the Surface Pen
Michael R. Yeah for me the trouble was not the tip feel. Ok they are not perfect but so is not the feel of Apple Pencil either. And it might be a matter of taste. The big issue for me is the line jitter the surface pen has and that the activation force to draw fine lines.. well I can only describe it as that the pen feels unreliable.
Michael R. Sorry did not want to bring up any trauma again. What I find a bit odd is that even though there is plenty reviewing and discussion on this topic from known art reviews and high profile production artists claims that the surface pen is not as good as Wacom tech (which is in more stationary solutions) and they claim that the iPad Pro + Pencil has impressed them so much as even being on par with Wacom and them ditching photoshop + laptop for an more convenient portable set up. Even though all above they still scream “Apple fan boy” as soon this topic comes up. Can’t they be a little objective and listen to what pro users think?
Adding mouse support and being able to use my wacom intros pro tablet on it are the reasons why I leaned towards surface pro 6. I also can use my PC version of clip studio art. Using touch screen is annoying on PC base programs but once you connect a tablet or mouse it's just so much better. So I use touch screen pen for sketching and wacom tablet for color and blending.
Your comment on using a bluetooth apple keyboard, don't be embarrassed! That's a VERY REAL OPTION for a lot of people! The honesty is why I watch your channel!
Gaming wise, Surface Pro works with a truly enormous backlog and huge numbers of indies. Practically anything from 2015 or earlier will run fine, with reduced settings. If you want ease of use and full access to a store's titles without worry on performance, I can see the appeal of iPad though. Personally, I have like 1000 titles on Steam+GoG, so iOS has difficulty competing.
I already have an iMac as my main computer, on which I use Photoshop and Lightroom. The iPad Pro 12.9" compliments it perfectly for my needs and I much prefer it over anything Microsoft currently offer. Not to mention the 1TB storage.
Finally a tech reviewer who jus doesn't read out from wats on the box. Actually makes sense n sounds as if she has indeed used the products.highly impressive
The thing no offense, most people cant really think out of the box. Luma Fusion is absolute capable to replace Final Cut and Affinity Photo/Designer is even better than Photoshop. Just because I am not used to something doesn't mean it cant do the job. The only problem with iOS is that limiting or not existing File System, and the restrictions of the USB-C Port. Besides that it is perfect for the device. And its not a Laptop replacement, its a tablet. Its my companion to my Lenovo Laptop. And I am saying this as die hard Linux User since 1997: this device Apple has done right.
As someone who is both a FCPX and iPad evangelist, saying that Luma Fusion can replace Final Cut is honestly just silly. It's very capable for simple videos, but there is no comparison in workflow, expandability, titles, effects, transitions, etc. If you push Final Cut at all, Luma Fusion is nowhere NEAR what you would want/need. I love the iPad, had one every year since the iPad 1, but it's simply not there for video editing.
It's a very, very good app. But it cannot do all the things we need- the variety of transitions, audio grading features. advanced color correction, LUTs, plugins, easy editing down to the second (not so easy with a finger).... then there's the fact we need and use Motion 5 for all those on-screen text effects, animations and snazzy labels. And Compressor... and the tedium of getting around 40gb of raw 4K footage onto the iPad, then clearing it off immediately after each project because space is limited compared to our array of desktop HDDs connected to an iMac.
I recently picked up a base level Surface Pro 6, and it even runs older games like Quake 4 on Ultra settings easily, and even runs Doom (2016) or Elder Scrolls Online on lower, but still looks great, settings! The drawing feels flawless as well. You're very knowledgeable. Thank you for the review :)
Comming from a Surface book I can use the iPad Pro 12.9 2018 LTE for nearly everything I want to do and it just works. No hours long updates, no windows issues and no docking issues it just works and I love it. The things I can't do on my iPad like Running Blender3D, Programming and Gaming i've got a desktop for.
Watching on my Surface Pro 6. Only thing I don't like about the SP6, I had to turn the display saving technology of Intel off, because it caused screen flickering. But now everything is fine :) I really like my SP6!
So I may be in the minority but I have both a Surface Pro 6 (for work and writing) and an iPad Pro 2016 (for mobile games and reading ebooks). I love both because they are for different experiences. The Surface is just too large for me to be used for ebook reading and isn't necessarily made for gaming. But Apple has officially lost me as a Mac user with the lukewarm updates as of late. I think Surface will be my brand of choice for a while.
Liked and subscribed. I really enjoy your reviews! Nice how you say that it depends on what you need to get done on the OS you prefer and not whether you're a fanboy or not.
This comparison is strange, especially because Lisa almost never used footage of the surface pro actually working! This was a comparison where only the ipad programs/apps where shown! Not a very good "Comparion Smackdown" video!
After having two sp3 Pro and sp4 pro I can tell you this is the worst product I’ve ever owned. Useless. Slow. Noisy and running hot. Terrible battery life. Only good thing about surface is a stand. Plus windows 10 is crap. Worst of both worlds.
Never step paying attention to all the details, Lisa! Great reviews! Don't change! I use your reviews to help me decide on what my business should purchase. Very helpful.
@@SourStrawberrys I also have a desktop computer and a surface pro. Mainly because I'm more familiar with windows and I do need computer that can function as a laptop on the go. Had the ipad pro for awhile back but the lack of a few programs just make it a bit difficult to get things done.
Thanh Do Huu That’s what I’m looking to do as well. I have a gaming desktop and I’m interested in a Surface Pro 6 as a laptop/tablet hybrid device. Then I can use Steam in-home streaming as well which sounds neat if I so desire. A PC to use when I’m not at the desk.
Small point, but Apple didn't beat MS to USB-C in tablets. The Surface Go has USB-C and can charge through it and charge through its own magnetic connector.
If you can't finish art in Procreate then try Artstudio Pro ,I don't have any issues finishing Art in Artstudio Pro it has all the masking, layer adjustments, effects, text and filters, plus a great Brush engine with .abr ,PSD support.Video editing on iPad Pro for me is better than my Windows PC using Luma Fusion /Luma Touch app .
Power and promised potential vs just a bit less and everything already works. Hopefully iOS13 really ups the extensibility, even simple things like working directly off of an external hard drive are still a no go on it, even if the chip was twice as powerful as it already is it doesn't change the platform limits.
Lisa, there is a reason you and I have both devices, they serve different (but sometimes overlapping) purposes. I encounter the same situation when I sit down to eat, I use a spoon, fork and knife (chopsticks not mentioned to keep things simple). There is some overlap between the spoon and fork, but I find I can’t stab stuff with the spoon and the fork sucks at eating soup.
I really like the review because it covered both hardware and software with lots of personal recommendations that ultimately make the review much more interesting.
Hi! I’m considering getting one of these or something similar. Which would you get if you are mostly interested in drawing .. but also need this for school and later on work as an interpreter/translator? Any recommendations welcome! Thanks!
Great review, but os, storage and price wise I'd prefer the Surface if I had to choose. So far, nothing beats a workstation. Affinity Designer not up there yet? I don't know, I'll take it any day over Illustrator.
I just want to say, that I always find my answers here, other channels are great, but I always get the answers I need and the specs of every device I want to know about from here, and it easily makes it my favorite source of info, right there with wikipedia!
Will Apple bring the iOS to the tablet? I'd happily pick one of those up over a Surface. Having the ability to do art and a bit of coding is appealing to me :)
Do yourself a favor and buy a Surface. Coding without a "real" editor, superb keyboard and trackpad or mouse is no fun. You can compile/execute your code in any language on your Surface or even use Docker... . Only for Art or media consumption the iPad might be the better choice - but the Surface is more then good enough for that too.
you mean os not iOS, but i gotcha. they will eventually, but doing so will phase out the smaller mb air/13"mbp. i will wait and buy an iPad pro when it does run full OS for sure.
Nice comparison Lisa ! I've always been on the fence with the Ipads, but as they become more powerful they get more appealing. I take a lot of notes and use full blown One Note all the time. I don't like or use the One Note App. In an ideal world , being able to do my video editing on one would be good. I have been waiting for Microsoft to put TB3 on their Surface line. Next generation I hear..
You're the first reviewers to mention blender. Most just take about web browser s and how many tabs they can have open. Much respect

You talked about battery life depending on screen brightness. If I plug my Surface Pro to an external monitor, should it last longer or the "work" needed to project the image would drain even more battery? Thanks for you amazing videos.
Any chance you can do a quick revision of this comparison now that the ipad os is out ... I think the ipad might have an upper hand here but i'd really like to know it from someone who has used it...
The writing experience for the Surface Pro doesn't feel like glass, as with the iPad. Also, with the surface pen you can change the pen tip to increase the friction/resistance to give it a more pencil & paper feel.
Lisa, I haven’t watched in a while and i am so loving playing catch up! It’s COOOOLD here tonight’s in Dallas, TX and perfect for my tech update videos! Love your station and your reviews!
Hi, Lisa! Always enjoy your style on the smackdown reviews. I was wondering if you knew of any steps on replacing the hinges on Surface Pro 6. I have a lightly used one that I purchased brand new and placed in a case. I still ended up with broken hinges. Any help here? Microsoft is refusing replacement.
Oohhh Lisa, i love how you excused yourself because you know us well that we were all waiting, anticipating and wanting to see what cool witty t shirt in your wardrobe we'd get to enjoy next. Also Yay apple for USB c.
One big comparison you missed-SUPPORT yes, I’ve known customers to wait for up to a week for Microsoft support (if you can call it that ) Apple call back within 30 mins, defo no contest on that!
Hey Lisa, like your video but I was wondering if you would consider making a more in depth video showing why exactly you prefer the iPad for drawing? I'm not an artist my self, but I picked up an iPad to write on and found the experience very similar to my SP6. The few differences I noticed were that the Apple pencil was much harder to control due to the lack of friction in the tip, didn't feel as nice to hold and the double tap gesture was just clunky and awkward compared to just flipping the Surfave pen upside down to erase. Other than that, I couldn't see a difference in terms of drawing straight lines or pressure. So, would you go more in depth about your preference?
Once again. iPad is a giant iPhone and Surface Pro models are full blown PCs. If you want a mobile experience, get iPad. If you want a full Windows PC, get Surface
I found the iPad Pro 11” to be a perfect fit. I went from a 1tb MacBook Pro to a 512gb iPad Pro. And after using it for a bit I am getting the feeling I should have gotten the 256gb iPad Pro
Can you do a comparison with iPad OS? Also it is funny, although you can technically do all of those things like Photoshop and Lightroom even working with complex Excel spreadsheets on the surface pro, you can't do them effectively. I have a first-generation surface book i7 with the dgpu and it stutters sometimes when working with macro heavy Excel spreadsheets. It is barely manageable with Lightroom and Photoshop. Before what I had to surface pro, it was even worse... Honestly I'm at a point where I would prefer to have a massive super powerful desktop and a tablet like the iPad pro
I have a Surface Pro on order to be used as my work computer. I really need a PC with the office package, Skype for Business, Sharepoint etc, and mouse support. In my private life I prefer to use my iPad. The best of both worlds.
First one that provides a holorgram keyboard wins! The big issue for me is my iPhone is big enough to do mostly anything I would do on an iPad and I bet there are a lot of people in this boat. A lap top is just a nicer and better buy also given how expensive the iPads are
Lisa, you are the absolute cutest! I love your t-shirts but I really enjoy your christmas wreath sweater too :) Do you ever do any digital art tutorials?
Durability is my question. Does surface pro last more than 2 years? An expensive purchase like iPad or surface pro want to make sure it will last more than a couple years.
Built windows desktops for years. Definitely iPad Pro. Hands down, no question needed. There is absolutely zero reason why you would prefer Surface Pro 6 at this point besides price. An ultrabook processor does not replace your laptop. I had those processor before. There is zero longevity in them. After few years, they become slow and unusable. There is no reason anyone should run desktop software in a tablet. iPad 2nd generation still function today. Even though it is not as fast as current generation, it is still faster than all of the ultrabook laptop I had in the past.
Really good review/comparison, Lisa Great Job, as usual! I like some of the hardware features of a MS Surface tablet, but still prefer my iPads/iPad Pro. Wish I couid afford the new 12.9 inch screen iPad Pro, but still happy with my 1st gen version. The new models are just soooo much more powerful than the 1st and 2nd gen models and the 2nd gen iPad Pro models are still very powerful and impressive, but... My 2015 iPad Pro still gets the job done for me at the end of every single day.
It’s simple, if your main usage is as a tablet including music and artistry, then the iPad kills the SP6. If your main use is desktop apps then the SP6, though I would easily argue that there are far better choices than the SP. Mind you I use both, a laptop and iPad, having the best of both worlds, to me it’s not a choice, it’s buying the best tech for my usage. I suspect it’s 70:30 use between iPad and my XPS and that saves waking up an i7 machine just to do a quick email or watch a quick video or podcast. I could never now just have a laptop for that type of use, it would be a massive downgrade and a bad bad move.
no its really not so easy. surface pro have MASSIVE QA issues even the most recent ones. and the pen experience is truly lacking for artists. I'd sooner buy an ipad pro over another surface(yes i owned one, never again. such a buggy driver mess. nearly overheated in my bag once because it kept turning itself on from sleep. and that's only the tip of the iceberg.) the iPad is much simpler and straightforward. it may not be for everyone but for my line activity it is great.
Looks like the kids have shown up in this thread. Look here kids, iPad Pro is a TABLET and NOT a computer. The Surface Pro is a computer and NOT a tablet. You Apple fanboys really don’t have much common sense
Robert can’t come up with a decent counter argument so resorts to name calling, which kinds of prove a point when it comes to the accusations of fanboyism your throwing out. FYI I own a Samsung notebook 9 pro which suits my art needs( some examples on my channel as proof) and provides me with what I want. But if it’s a choice between a surface and an iPad. I’d take the iPad every-single time. Because the surface line is a lottery nightmare when it comes to what you get in quality. Please take off the blind hate goggles because I’m also critical of apple and know there shenanigans(Louis rossman goes in depth into these) but I won’t deny the things they do right and the pencil and tablet experience surpasses the laptop/tablet experience of surface artist wise. And I’m only taking as an artist, that’s what I am. I don’t know anything about other people’s profession.
There is now a hub that uses Wi-Fi to transfer date from flash or hard drive to ipad as well as you can now also use ipad as a wireless cintiq if you have macbook pro2016 or later using that accessory called Luna display
It got skipped in your smackdown, but can you talk a little about the speakers of the two of these? I've always been amazed at the sound that comes out of iPads, but I'm curious how close the Surface gets (if at all).
The Surface Pro has excellent speakers for a Windows tablet- there's even bass. But the quad speakers on the iPad Pro are even better. But I wouldn't say you'd suffer listening to the Surface Pro.
somebody said it kind of well .. .Surface is PC in tablet form, iPad is smartphone in tablet form .. depends what you want/expect ... iOS and its filesystem kind of kills it for me (for work)
I am a computer programmer that does a great deal of coding. Even in 2023 I still find that the Surface Pro 6 is still the way to go. I bought mine a little over 6 months ago from Amazon for $499.99 for the 256GB I5 version. I am running Windows 11 Pro on it now. Sure, I have a high-end HP gaming laptop that I use for my bigger programs. That is because it has 2 2TB HARD Drives on it ( SSD and an HDD). i still use my Surface Pro 6 more than my laptop because I can take it anywhere I go. So I would recommend the Surface pro 6 in 2023
Another great comparison, though I would have liked to learn more about how your workflow has changed going from using a track pad/mouse to touch screen. In my experience this was one of the things I couldn't get used to using the ipad as my portable device - I just found it took longer to get things done, e.g. selecting large chunks of text. If Apple expand the multitasking abilities, open up iOS, add a proper file manager and cursor support, and allow the ipad to transfer ALL files from external drives, then I would probably ditch my Surface Pro for the ipad Pro. The Surface Pro is not as fun as the ipad but IMO is much better for productivity.
I feel one major thing the iPad needs for any kind of real productively work is cursor support. I have the 2018 iPad (non pro) and use it with a Bluetooth keyboard daily, however when trying to edit large documents not being able to use a mouse is a massive downfall. Also the iPad lacking the normal keyboard shortcuts unless you are using an apple keyboard like copy and past which means I am constantly reaching awkwardly for long presses on the touch screen for functions like that.
Hi, I am planning to buy a used tablet / convertible for PDF editing and writing (Pen). My budget is around 350€ max used. Are there any used tablets you could recommend? I have found Samsung S3 Tabs for around 200€ used, a Lenovo S1 Tablet for about 170€ used, a Huawei Media Pad M5 for around 150€. I already use a Wacom Intuos graphic tablet with Pen (if that is of any use). Thanks in advance.
Its important to mention that the geek bench scores can't even accurately be compared because one is running a desktop operating system and one is using an optimized mobile operating system.
Surface Pro 6 is having all the heavy Software, Visual Studio, SQL, PhotoShop so good for work and students, IPad Pro should drop the Pro out of it, because it is powerfull browser table with great look and design, so depend on your needs. If you need it for browsing and Word, Excel maybe go with the IPad, but in any other cases go with the Surface Pro 6.
I’d say surface for students for sure. I’d say for my 80 year old Father the iPad. From there it is what apps that essential for your survival. For me it is consuming information and the iPad is pretty good at that. I wish ms Visio ran on my iPad . I have to get my win 8 tablet out to do that. I really like Visio

They’re both cool devices. Just wish there was more than 2 (ok, 3) choices of operating systems out there.
Microsoft has a Surface Connect to USB-C Adapter that will also charge the device as well.
The fact that she knows what Far Cry 5 is stimulates my nerdiness.
Was going to bed... Saw this Smackdown... Had to watch it ♥
Adding mouse support and being able to use my wacom intros pro tablet on it are the reasons why I leaned towards surface pro 6.
Best for note taking ? I am on the look out for a device that will allow written notes to be converted to text.
Have you tried LumaFusion on the iPad Pro? It’s pretty awesome.
Oh yea sure. A tablet with millions limitations for price of a laptop that can do much more. Sure. Go get the ipad :)
You guys just prove my point, thanks 😂
It's a very, very good app. But it cannot do all the things we need- the variety of transitions, audio grading features. advanced color correction, LUTs, plugins, easy editing down to the second (not so easy with a finger).... then there's the fact we need and use Motion 5 for all those on-screen text effects, animations and snazzy labels. And Compressor... and the tedium of getting around 40gb of raw 4K footage onto the iPad, then clearing it off immediately after each project because space is limited compared to our array of desktop HDDs connected to an iMac.
MobileTechReview Lisa.. all that can be done in LumaFusion...
Excellent no bells no whistles no exaggeration just pure simple balanced review from Lisa... but turtle neck wins in the end!
Surface if you don't have a computer, iPad if you do
I have a computer and I still go with the surface. I have an ipad as well and it collects dust.
@@SourStrawberrys I also have a desktop computer and a surface pro. Mainly because I'm more familiar with windows and I do need computer that can function as a laptop on the go. Had the ipad pro for awhile back but the lack of a few programs just make it a bit difficult to get things done.
Ipad is too bendable
iPad if you want to throw away money that is
Thanh Do Huu That’s what I’m looking to do as well.
Love this channel. Always covers important stuff that matters in everyday use rather than just specs. High quality tech reviews without the bling!
This is actually an interesting comparison that goes further than reading off a spec sheet.
Best tech reviewer on RUclips!
Power and promised potential vs just a bit less and everything already works. Hopefully iOS13 really ups the extensibility, even simple things like working directly off of an external hard drive are still a no go on it, even if the chip was twice as powerful as it already is it doesn't change the platform limits.
I have been watching you for a while and love your review on new technology.
Great Review. What size storage did you get on the iPad 12.9?
Lisa, there is a reason you and I have both devices, they serve different (but sometimes overlapping) purposes. I encounter the same situation when I sit down to eat, I use a spoon, fork and knife (chopsticks not mentioned to keep things simple). There is some overlap between the spoon and fork, but I find I can’t stab stuff with the spoon and the fork sucks at eating soup.
I really like the review because it covered both hardware and software with lots of personal recommendations that ultimately make the review much more interesting.
As usual, you are the best.
A review and comparison that I truly needed. Excellent delivery and analysing. Thanks again.
Hi! I’m considering getting one of these or something similar. Which would you get if you are mostly interested in drawing .. but also need this for school and later on work as an interpreter/translator? Any recommendations welcome! Thanks!
I don't know why but I like this woman in a mother or grandma kind of way. It's funny because I'm 39. 😁
Lol no coding for you LMAOOOO
I watch your videos religiously and I couldn’t agree more with your opinions. Keep up the good, unbiased reporting.
Great work as always!
One note: are you not aware that you can rest your hand on the screen while using the Apple Pencil?
Surface did that too
Lisa, I haven’t watched in a while and i am so loving playing catch up!
As usual another smooth video from Lisa, thank you!
Really appreciate your reviews. Deeply informative. God bless u.
I honestly would get a surface in the future if they catch up with the pencil, but all these iPad limitations are absolutely stupid.
So the Ipad is essentially a bigger Iphone with more computing power?
Have you tried clip studio paint for ipad? It replaced photoshop for me on windows, and it is just as good on ipad
I found the iPad Pro 11” to be a perfect fit. I went from a 1tb MacBook Pro to a 512gb iPad Pro. And after using it for a bit I am getting the feeling I should have gotten the 256gb iPad Pro
Thanks for the comparison Lisa.
On another note, how are these two devices comparable other then as a media consumption and web device?
That’s a well deserved smack down! I had to subscribe.
Which of the two would be your recommendation for the average college student?
I have a Surface Pro on order to be used as my work computer. I really need a PC with the office package, Skype for Business, Sharepoint etc, and mouse support. In my private life I prefer to use my iPad. The best of both worlds.
First one that provides a holorgram keyboard wins! The big issue for me is my iPhone is big enough to do mostly anything I would do on an iPad and I bet there are a lot of people in this boat. A lap top is just a nicer and better buy also given how expensive the iPads are
Lisa, you are the absolute cutest! I love your t-shirts but I really enjoy your christmas wreath sweater too :)
Do you ever do any digital art tutorials?
Durability is my question. Does surface pro last more than 2 years? An expensive purchase like iPad or surface pro want to make sure it will last more than a couple years.
You can edit any off these RUclips videos on a iPad with lumafusion.
Very true. Since I got my iPad Pro, I've been editing my videos on it. Works great. Much more advanced than iMovie.
CORRECT!
Overpowered iphone vs real computer. the choice is easy. Amazing video, i love you lisa!!
no its really not so easy. surface pro have MASSIVE QA issues even the most recent ones. and the pen experience is truly lacking for artists.
It is easy...ipad pro
Looks like the kids have shown up in this thread. Look here kids, iPad Pro is a TABLET and NOT a computer. The Surface Pro is a computer and NOT a tablet. You Apple fanboys really don’t have much common sense
Demetrius Ortakales and I don’t know a single artist that uses an iPad Pro, just kids do. Guess you’re proving my point
Thanks! Last Surface I used was a Surface 3. Thinking of a new tablet, so eyeing up this, iPad Pro, or Galaxy Book 2. Mainly for TV/movies.
A lot of rumours about iOS13 says that it will improve iPad capabilities. Let's hope. :-)
I jave just stumbled upon your channel. And I love it. If i want to start learning to draw some basiv art pieces should i get iPad or Surface Pro?
somebody said it kind of well .. .Surface is PC in tablet form, iPad is smartphone in tablet form .. depends what you want/expect ... iOS and its filesystem kind of kills it for me (for work)
Nope. My smartphone can do more than the ipad. ios is too restricting.
I value your opinion, you don’t just rehash the specs. You can tell you use the products and know what consumers are looking for.
I'm looking for a good 2 In 1 for 2d animation and 3d modeling and maybe some light gaming, any suggestions?
Best tech review channel on RUclips
I would not recommend it, but the iPad Pro will stand on its own. Also some people use LumaFusion to edit RUclips videos on iPad.
Lmao no
As always totally awesome video. Thank you for all your work, sure makes it easier to decide on what I need to get.
I think it should be called ipad plus because there is nothing really "pro" about it.
SourStrawberrys the only worthy professional pursuit on the iPad Pro is really art and illustration work anything else you can do on a pc/Mac
Thank you Lisa, I can always rely on your expertise. 🙌🏾🙋🏾♂️ Love your channel.
Thank you so much for this video. Help me so much to make my decision.
very smart comparison, lisa ... as always 'the best one for the tech reviewer' ... cheers, sis
