Deca-Dence is one of those anime that are just overall great anime. Good plot, characters, and animation in a compact 12 episodes that don't waste time. I really liked the chibi artstyle used for the robots, I thought it was unique.
bro this is way too underrated, animation check, fights check, music check, story check, charactars check. hopefully they made alotta money of this anime cuz they deserved it
The risky move that Studio Nut made in ep 2 was the thing that sold me. It shot my curiosity out of the roof for Deca-Dence and was the anime that I was constantly always waiting for the next week. It sucks that it was only 12 episodes because there is still so much left unknown in Deca-Dence but, it was amazingly executed for an anime with 12 episodes nonetheless
The horrible CGI kills my vibe for the show, as well as its predictability. The characters are written fine, the story is good, its just I hate the predictable characters and that god awful CGI. I also just could not care about any of the characters, literally felt nothing when anyone was at risk, dying, or emotional. But hey, to each their own.
I want to recommend this series to my friends so badly, but I REALLY don't to spoil any of the stuff with Kaburagi and the robots. The freaking twist in EP 2 OF ALL THINGS is holding me back. I CAN'T EVEN SHOW THEM THE OPENING!!!
You’re review encouraged me to watch this underrated gem! And I must say that you nailed every point as to why this show is a masterpiece! My favorite aspects of this show is the world building, the insane writing, and of course the unique animation style! I also would like to agree with your sentiment, I wouldn’t change a single thing about the show!
This year has been a fun one for original anime for me. Id:invaded, deca dence, and akudama drive (so far). More people should watch deca dence but I feel it's one of those shows where if you recommend it to someone, just tell them to watch the first three episodes, because even telling/hinting that there's a major twist would kinda Rob them of the experience of the mindfuck that was episode 2 imo.
Studio Nut is goated. I loved them already because they made Tanya, and it was incredibly good, but now I know they're passionate as fuck. Seriously as you said yourself, almost no production commitee would've agreed to take such a big risk at episode 2, yet they did. They just wanted to tell their story and it was the best way to do so, so they did, notwithstanding usual tropes and storytelling and without sacrificing the show in order to be safer. And seriously, the music. The fucking soundtrack of the show. Beside being absolutely goated, it's MASSIVE. There are 45 tracks in the ost. *FOURTY-FIVE* . FOR A TWELVE EPISODE ANIME. No seriously the people at Studio Nut are passion-driven. Anyway Studio Nut is incredible, I really hope that this anime wasn't a financial issue to them because (at least in occident, I don't know about Japan) it was completely overlooked and underrated. Seriously I want them to thrive but people are too much of uncultured swines to recognize greatness when they see it. I really hope they at least earned enough money to make it profitable.
Deca-Dence is my favorite of Summer 2020 and I LOVED the finale! On a side note, please also review MAGATSU WAHRHEIT from this season. The swords vs guns battles are actually well done with some limited magic use as well. This is a seinen thriller similar in tone to Dallos and Terror in Resonance focusing on an insurrectionist/arms smuggling group fighting against a corrupt empire.
I loved this show so much! At first i got shingeki no kyojin vibes but then what a great twist that was! When i watched the ep 2 i checked twice if i was actually watching deca dence lol it was mind-blowing! I was sold on the originality of the plot and the charismatic characters! i was fine with only 12 episodes and i don't feel like a second season is needed. That's how great it was! The sad part is that it's a show so underrated, i haven't heard many people talking about it at least here in Brazil, i don't know about other places though.
As a fan of Sci-fi, I enjoyed this show. It truly was a part of the genre, sometimes I felt it was a mix-match of a few sci-fi tropes with disney influence (as stated by the creators), but the overall appeal was there and it was my favorite show of summer.
Studio NUT really doing a good job. They really remind me of studio Trigger. Many people are comparing it to (grunn lugann). Story wise and the settings are really top notch. I believe this series needed more ... err Flare to be called a Masterpiece.
Bugs were apart of the systems order. It filled a role to give those a job to hunt them but they also provided for change outside of the systems command that like the end of the series greatly benifited them. If a bug overpowered high command it meant it was a worthy change, most would be crushed.
@@AHBrandonReviews yea they explained that, but it felt so late and abrupt after having drilled “no bugs ever!” into our heads through all the other episodes.
I get it. That's a reason I appreciated it actually. The fact that only the top knew and drilled it to everyone's mind to follow the rules means only those worthy deserve to change said rules.
Man I really missed out on this show especiall ywhen it was airing. I just didn't think it was for me as it just seem "run-of-the-mill", until people in the anime community starting to really hype up this show, turn from very obscure to something known. Plus I had other shows I was watching from that season so I couldn't Find the time.

Honestly I don’t get why people don’t like this I think it’s an amazing concept and is executed brilliantly
Many people did, just many people didn't because it took some polarizing risks that makes you love it or hate it, no in-between.
I just couldn't into the first few minutes in the first episode. I felt it just wasn't for me.

@@ArkoCD Bro wtf the CGI is good. Like actually very good.

Deca dence is easily my favorite original anime ever. I love this show and i love Kaburagi's character development and kaburagi himself ❤️

It's so underated it hurts

Great vid! Can't wait for this to come out on Blu-ray.
I absolutely love DECA-DENCE and I’m really glad to see there are some peopoe out there who get it. It’s truly a beautiful and unique piece of art
When the anime already ended like a month ago. This anime was definitely my favorite last season. And a 10/10 for me.
Excellent video will definitely check it out
Enjoy!
Probably not.

It was a nice surprise that got me through the summer, which had little to no anime’s worth watching
for you
oh this anime? never picked it up because it didn’t look like it’d interest me but just by looking at the comments i might actually take a look
This is kind of what darling in the franxx could have been
Episode 2 of Franxx had me drop it, where episode 2 of Deca Dence had me love it more.
@@AHBrandonReviews lol same situation for me
I honestly really loved this anime and where it was going...except towards the end. If felt very rushed.
“we're not actually against bugs” was very strange...
