Ob doesn't save cards on your turn. If you don't use them on YOUR TURN, you lose them. But if you get cards on your OPs turn, you get to save until your next end step.

Yeah, the until the end of your next turn is so common it is an easy mistake to make, but halfway through the video and it looks like it is going to have some major impacts so unfortunate it was overlooked. I think some of the new Lord of the Rings cards have possibly the most confusing text I've seen on magic cards in the last decade so that should be fun for them to figure out when the time comes!

Such as one player builds a Gandalf deck, the first time they cast him it’s the uncommon version, second time it’s the rare, then last time and forward it’s the mythic. The deck is made from all the colors of all versions. Feel like there are enough versions of the cards to make it possible.
Honestly though, you have four people who’s job it is to work with MTG cards, a couple people who play tournaments including at least one player, Corey, who has won major tournaments(who strangely enough seems to know the least about any of the cards), AND a director! If that’s not enough to catch the mistakes they make, I don’t know what is. These aren’t rule blah blah blah, subsection 3.1.4.b type of mistakes. These are basic reading comprehension mistakes that they make every week.
Just curious, any reason the man, the myth, the legend Justin Parnell has never been back as a guest? I understand the reasoning behind his departure and am not suggesting he should oust Corey and reclaim his former spot full time, but it would be great to see what I think is the most iconic foursome this channel has ever had back for a special between seasons special. From talking to him over on his youtube channel where he puts out some excellent Historic Brawl content, he definitely seemed interested in the idea, but said that an invite has never come. I hope no bad blood has developed between y'all in the intervening years, just throwing it out there.
I know it was something to do with his father passing and he didnt come back after. It might be best to ask Justin himself and just ok with anything he gives. I personally just keep watching and just happy for whatever they post, just becuase Corey is the only one who thinks the spotlight is always on compared to the other edh shows that feel like it's on everyone.

When he ran out of time off, he made the decision to quit and move closer to home to be closer to his mom and dad because he said he was reprioritizing his life or something along those lines
For full copper tablet lethal we needed to use Mycosynth Gardens to create another Jhoira's Familiar, untap with Voltaic Key, swing with both familiars and Karn. Karn is a forced block, and 4 gets through. So close.
Some people think he is annoying, other people dislike how he plays, other can't understand how a "pro player" doesn't read his own cards and can't play certain decks because of lack of attention. If i understand, he is the most prone to lose triggers or misunderstand interactions, or something like that. I'm kind of on the team "i like him, but i miss Justin."
pretty simple. Corey replaced someone people liked and had different energy. He's also never really played commander before joining the show so he's significantly less knowledgeable about commander specific cards and interactions. I like Corey but I do miss Justin a lot

I agree with people saying Jon should lose 1 point for his missplays. Anyone who drastically impacts the game with missplays (or cheats, as I believe he does it on purpose) should lose points. To encourage them to actually play Magic and read their cards.

Treasures add mana of ANY color, even outside of your commanders identity. They changed this rule way back around Throne of Eldraine. So Jon could have cast the Tyvar he got from the Ragavan since he had a treasure if he wanted.

Hey all, just in case you aren't aware because it seems Jon Suarez isn't aware either, it doesn't matter whether an ability isn't a may ability, if it is a missed trigger then it is a missed trigger. Nobody is required to remind you, and if it is missed you do not have to agree to for example lose life because they missed their trigger. Missed triggers are missed triggers, full stop.
this is a hilariously hard stance to take for casual commander games, and one of the few opinions that is just wrong. If a trigger isn't a may and you miss it, do the trigger when you remember, folks. Don't listen to this guy
@@apophis456 If you're trying to learn to be a better player, then you should do all you can. Don't go back a turn or two because you missed your triggers even if they weren't may abilities, and you shouldn't be required to do the same for your opponents. If they mess up, then they messed up. Your own personal tables might be different, but I'm not reminding my opponents if they miss triggers that are detrimental to me. Learn to play the game better and you won't have missed triggers.

If you wanna visibly improve your play, play a competitive format or cEDH. Otherwise, don't be such a stick in the mud

This is the same mindset that leads to people being unaware of how the stack or special actions or priority work. Do you pass priority after every action even in casual games? Because you should be, how else are people supposed to prepare a counterspell or removal spell? Players should always be taking steps to learn how to play the game better, or else we'd still be living in an era where players think llanowar elves tap ability means they get to tutor a land to the battlefield or just place one from their hand onto the battlefield (yes this really used to happen) Players are never required to remind their opponents of their triggers, they are only responsible for remembering their own and their opponents triggers that might be beneficial to them. If you WANT to remind your opponents of their triggers, go ahead. You're allowed to do that of course and I do it as well from time to time; if you WANT to allow them to go back and do something that should have happened before and the boardstate has changed, go ahead you're allowed to do that.

Naw, that's not exactly how it's written. They got it right. It just says CANT be used to CAST NONartifact spells. One can use it for anything else, though. It's a tricky wording, but it's consistent with the new Powerstones

I feel like there should be -1 point for getting reading wrong. Jon got so much card advantage he shouldn't have had this game.

That's probably a corporate decision more than a personal decision by them. I don't think SCG likes inviting back former employees.
