    After ct surgery on my left wrist 7/23, you were my therapist while going 2x/ week, I still do the exercises you suggest to keep my hands limber and right wrist symptom free.

    I find your conclusions on the "exercises" aggreable.
    Having had a successful left hand "carpal tunnel relief" operation.
    I was then told, that the condition could most likely be present in the other hand, as both hands were impacted in an accident; many years before.
    The operation involved chipping away of calcified stuff in the area.
    The right hand remained symptom free till a recent fall, landing on both palms!
    Physiotherapy involving manipulations and the use of ultrasound (which seemed like vibrations) aggravated the symptoms, hence the operation.
    Vibrations are used to move stuff or the opposite - compact it!
    Determined by the how open or closed the path is.
    Now that we know the one imaging procedure can reveal the condition, useless procedure like X-rays and tests and physio, could be avoided.
    This could set one back for months!
    Its nice of you to be bold enough, to point out how the nerves could be compressed!
    Thanks for the video and as for the negative comments, perhaps the viewers considered it too "hyped" up!
    Doing the dishes, pots and pans non stop, can be bad!

    How do we know what your saying is true? It seems many "experts" claim that "these" stretches work while "those" ones don't. Not saying this to be rude, I genuinely feel stuck.

      exactly. who is she? A doctor? a qualified phisioteraphyst? Anyway the issue is that if you go to a doctor, he/she won't care and just give some painkillers.. you can go to do some phisioteraphy, but there you might have the same issues that you find here in Internet.. Every one has its different opinion! they might say this exercise is good, or no this is better... so.... at the end it's the same story when it comes to medicine unfortunately! :-(

      She is referencing real world medical studies that actually measure the before and after Carpal Tunnel configurations. I am not a fan of severing the carpal tunnel ligament and then stepping back and saying you are "cured" when the reality severing the ligament weakens the hand and that is strength you will never regain.

      @@luca8152she went to school to for physical therapy and hand therapy is her specialty. She’s been doing this for 15 yrs. Just because she’s not a doctor it doesn’t mean she doesn’t know what’s she’s talking about. I just had carpal tunnel surgery done. I have trigger thumb on my right hand and had watched her videos while I was recovering from surgery. When I went back to my surgeon I had him watch a couple of her videos and he agreed she knew what she was talking about.

    Great explanation of carpal tunnel syndrome. I was wondering, though, if pain can radiate at the back of the hand beween the web of the thumb and two finger (pointer finger)? Thanks for a great video.

    • @VirtualHandCare
      @VirtualHandCare  10 месяцев назад

      No carpal tunnel doesn't not radiate or innervate on the back of the hand. That could the radial nerve or the dorsal sensory branch of the radial nerve.

    Since I broke my wrist about 10 weeks ago, I've been doing great in getting movement back, but my PT has been encouraging those wrist flexion and extension exercises to help my wrist have a larger degree of movement which is about 50% right now, but since about 5 weeks ago when I could write and craft again, I began having carpal tunnel syndrome, but she said to keep up with the exercises and activities, but it does seem to make it worse, sooooo how am I supposed to get my wrist to move around normally again if I'm supposed to avoid those stretches? 🤦🏻‍♀️ Thank you so much for this video. 💗

    • @VirtualHandCare
      @VirtualHandCare  10 месяцев назад

      You can try the myofascial stretch ligament stretch on the wall as a way to stretch in wrist extension. Ask your PT to show you ways to modify or at least reduce the strain to the nerve when stretching. Getting motion back is important but the last thing you want is creating a nerve issue that gets too bad.

    Question: I have had 6 months of rehab on my tendons of the elbows (several years ago). I have 3 stretches I did then, that I still do, to keep my forearms flexible and so my tendons don't shrink up. I haven't had an issues since. My hands are a different story. I have mild carpal tunnel and tendonitis at the base of my fingers. What stretches do you recommend for my forearms if I'm ruining my carpal tunnel with flexion and extension? (At the time of my elbows, I didn't have the hand issues).
