Hello Eric, I can imagine that many believers do not realize that Joseph Rutherford hated himself so much that he decreed that his body be buried under a driveway at Beth Sarim in San Diego. 👀
The biography of his life which is included in the book shows his desire to be buried on the property of Beth Sarim, though there is no mention of being buried under the driveway. Zoning laws, however, made that impossible, so he was buried in a cementary.
@@BeroeanPickets Hello Brother Wilson, here is the information I have and where I got it from: Yes, there are reports that Joseph Rutherford was initially buried in a crypt under the driveway at Beth Sarim. According to the book "Apocalypse Delayed: The Story of Jehovah's Witnesses" by M. James Penton, Rutherford was buried in a "burial crypt under the driveway of Beth Sarim" (page 64). The book "Crisis of Conscience" by Raymond Franz, a former member of the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses, also mentions this detail (page 60). The decision to bury Rutherford at Beth Sarim was likely due to his strong belief that the biblical "princes" would soon be resurrected and would reside at the property. However, when Beth Sarim was sold in 1947, Rutherford's remains were moved to the Woodrow Cemetery (now Woodrow United Methodist Church Cemetery) in Suffolk County, New York, where they remain today.

Very interesting. It seems that Russell expected a collegial group of men to lead and maintain his teachings into the future. But Rutherford saw the weakness after Russell's predictions failed and forged a new direction based on hierarchy and control of the message, which was ultimately successful in numbers for a hundred years. Of course, none of this internal politics has anything to do with the straightforward gospel of Jesus. It's just men of this age fighting for control, trying to be the big fish in a small pond.

Thirdly, this doctrine is tantamount to the dogma of the Vicar of Christ of the Catholic Church, which Jehovah's Witnesses on the one hand reject as unbiblical to this day, without being aware that with their teaching they themselves have created a Vicar of Christ on this earth in the form of the Governing Body. Fourth, if God had indeed appointed a "faithful slave" in 1919 according to Matthew 24:45, which is not the case, that slave would not have the authority to elevate himself to the rank of leader as an appointed slave, which was demonstrably accomplished in the 1970s by bestowing the title of "Governing Body" on an elite group within the brotherhood. Rud Persson: There was a slip of the tongue when I stated in the interview that several "other directors" disagreed with the lawyer Rutherford used. I meant that other LAWYERS claimed that McCaughey was wrong. Prominent of these was Francis H. McGee, who at the time was assistant to the Attorney General of New Jersey. He was also a Bible Student and appreciated member of the movement, clearly the most qualified lawyer the Bible Students had. He claimed that Rutherford had illegally taken the law into his own hands, wrongly viewing a legal opinion as the judgment of a court. He urged the ousted directors to take Rutherford to court, which they in the end decided not to, although they were sure of winning if they had done so. In my book I give a separate biography on McGee, who in the end became the CHIEF legal assistant to the New Jersey Attorney General. He of course left the Society when they condoned what Rutherford had done.
That was a good explanation. Thank you. Maybe you could clarify for me just a bit more. The last sentence of your comment says, "He [McGee] of course left the Society when they condoned what Rutherford had done." To whom does "they" refer? Who condoned what Rutherford had done?
It was the Society and more specifically the sharehplders, who had voting shares. Each contribution of ten dollars to Society entitled the giver to one vote. So generous contributors could have many votes. A rather big majority of the shares supported Rutherford in January 1918, and then the so-called "opposition" chose to leave the Society. McGee and some of the ousted directors rather soon started The Pastoral Bible Institute, the history of which is also given in my book. Some time before he died Andrew N. Pierson, Vice President in 1917, sided with that movement. Pierson was born and grew up only some 50 kilometers from where I live in southern Sweden. He emigrated to Connecticut at the age of 18. He had nominated Rutherford as president in 1917 bur reevaluated him later. @@vintage6346

The truth eventually comes out. It was necessary for Rutherford's tricks to be exposed so that unsuspecting Watchtower followers would know the true origen of the Watchtower Society. Luke 12:2, 3 says, "2 There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, and nothing hidden that will not be made known. 3 What you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the housetops."

Great answer! Thank you for that insight.
Real Christians w Bible knowledge in my opinion likely did leave …… tragic situation.

Our Swedish brother has had a rud awakening.
Where there any revisions/corrections, or additions to the text of the 2nd edition?
Additions, yes. The video explains these.
Nice!
Thanks!
Peut on se procurer le livre en français ?
Malheureusement, non. Il n'est disponible qu'en espagnol et en anglais.
Hello there brother had a question about baptism, i want to get baptized but dont really know where to go or if any Christian can baptize me or if maybe if you can ?
Any Christian can baptize you. Just get baptized in the name of our Lord Jesus. What city are you located in or near.
@BeroeanPickets I live in Las Vegas Nevada

I'm guessing that that location will be a big "plus" for getting Eric to go there. Sorry, Eric. Couldn"t resist.
@@abraham7177 EMail me to discuss the possibility of arranging a baptism for you. meleti.vivlon@gmail.com or come to our online meeting today: beroeans.net/events/
@BeroeanPickets I must say, bravo for anyone wanting to get baptized after leaving the organization. I am a heartbroken old man from not having a relationship with God and fear of not getting it right with Jesus
Great interview, but a little unfortunate of Rud’s name… I kept thinking you were referring to him as a ‘rude person’…..
My first name "Rud" was given me by my father who was a big fan of the Norwegian Birger Rud, the best ski jumper of his day. back in the 40s. In Scandinavia "Rud" does not have the connotation the English word "rude" has. There was also a famous soccer player in Holland by the name of "Rud Gullit." in the 1990s.

The are french version ?
So far, the only translation has been to Spanish.
@@BeroeanPickets ok merci pour la réponse. Car la francophonie à besoin des fruits de votre labeur mais la langue semble barrières.
There was no Governing Body! Only "Judge" Rutherford.
That is true. As long as Rutherford was president - which he was to his death - thery surely was no governing body!
Gibt es eine deutsche Ausgabe oder ist eine solche geplant? Herzlichen Dank für eure Anstrengungen.

New to channel. Would you say that you hate jehovah and don't believe in him. I am trying to learn
Then, I suggest watching the video!
I certainly believe in JHWH, the God of the Bible. And I do believe in the Bible and that the Bible is God´s Word.
I ask the question on the wrong video. Sorry@@RudPersson
Sounds like Satan was pulling some puppet strings during that time?😮
💯💪❤🙏
Such damage this cult has done! Rutherford has been dead for ages yet his despicable doctrine continues to ruin lives! Absolutely no foundation in the teachings of Christ or in harmony w Bible principles 😢
Mr pickets were u a jw?
Yes, he was.
Get up to date and leave the dead alone? The internet is the world's sewer.

(Daniel 12:4) “As for you, Daniel, keep the words secret, and seal up the book until the time of the end. Many will rove about, and the true knowledge will become abundant.” CT Russell and gang were bible students with a desire to know the truth. When Jesus Christ began his rule, he also began shaping up his earthly organization by using people like CT Russell to get it started. All religions were given the offer but none accepted. Instead, they fought against the truth and later put the truth seekers in jail.

If you click the video screen, you'll see numbers across the bottom. What is the video timestamp of what Eric says in the video to which you refer?
Why do you ask that? Do you know more of what happened in the WT Society in 1917 and 1918?
What evidence do you have rutherford bullied his way in the way expressed? This is serious. But evidence is required.
For example just because mcorgy served Rutherford doesn't mean he was in his pocket. Thats normal. Evidence is required.
@@Puddintane130 why are you judging me, you don't know me. I just asked where I could find the evidence.
Worlds full of judges! Amazing 👏
@@Puddintane130 but you don't know. Me or what I believe or have been through.
Rud Persson: The evidence is in the book. Also, other lawyers completely disagreed with McCaughey, as I show. McCaughey´s opinion ,as later published by Rutherford, was disregarding the Society´s charter, which shows that it was meant to please Rutherford. It was also brought out during the later Moyle trial that McCaughey had actiually later lived at Bethel.
