- The Karters 2: Turbo charged is a brand new Kart Racing Game that is heavily inspired by Crash Team Racing and Mario Kart. Today we are going over the new free prologue that they have released for anyone to try and play; let's talk about it!

it gives me soo much CTR vibes and i have been craving to see CTR nitro fueled on the PC
CTRNF with fewer boundaries is such a delightfully scary thought, I’m ready to rage!
Especially with flight potential, you got that right bud!
i've played the last 3 demos of this game and can tell that is scary at first but the devs are patching out some crazy shortcuts that people discovered after grinding hours on the game, the most rage-inducing thing is the ai at higher difficulties but is the next thing on the list to rebalance

Skipping through whole track is kinda defeating the purpose of racing, so they really need to keep an eye on that lol.
@@deoxysandmew2162 there was a track were you could do huge skips (woodsy lane) and the wr was around 1 minute but with the prologue they patched it by adding walls in the middle of the map to block the jumps
@@michepoli5044exactly, but we're still able to the same cuts 🙃 hopefully they find a solution before full release
Tried out the prologue for about 30-40 minutes and was feeling that nostalgic CTR from the first 30 seconds of playing. Found myself smiling while playing it and learning the mechanics quickly!
I am really hoping they make a crash team racing sequel but part of me wants toys for bob to finish spyro 4 and release it
CTR Nitro Fueled 2 is years off, likely after Spyro 4 is done and released as a thing, the Karters 2 here will suffice and fill in the void till then, I'm so glad it's coming sooner than CTR 2 will, a great potential game indeed to be as great as CTR at it's peak.
Is it confirmed they're still working on spyro 4 enter the dragonfly remake? I heard activision forced them to stop work on it to help with stupid call of duty gun skins

@@proxywolf2006 they have talked about it in the past, remastering enter the dragonfly and adding more levels and completing the game, and said they had to stop progress for cod skins. I don't remember the video, but it was years ago.
Xbox still needs to port CTR: NF to PC first!

It’s going to be interesting for sure, and definitely worth checking out. Although I’ve never play a cart racing game past Mario Kart Wii, so I have no clue how the game would be for me. Btw, it’s nice seeing your traditional intro again.
I broke two controllers while playing CTR, and not because i was angry. I literally played to the point where i busted the buttons. And i can't wait to play this and ruin some more controls.
Looks good. Saw Wumpa Lewis play it too. Great idea with the free trial. Really looking forward to seeing how it feels to play

This is why Activision made a big mistake not releasing Crash team Racing on PC
My issue with the game is that the karts feel too lightweight, i addressed it even comparing to nitro fueled, but it seems like it hasn't been touched yet
On another topic, you should note that modding is gonna be a thing.
So, don't like the stages? Then start baking the nitro fueled tracks in there, and they also encourage the interest of the modders

I played this in last closed beta and it's great.
Both of these games are more interesting than Rumble, cannot wait to get into Karters 2 :D
It also kinda has that tag team racing vibe to it if you look a bit closer
The fact this game has got a Preview Demo available now does give me hope that this project will release sooner than later, likely sooner than CTR 2 will hit store shelves and Digital Store Fronts, so plenty of time for Karters 2 to shine in the mean time. I honestly do want to try this title out, so I'm definitely gonna keep an eye on this one, just in case it ends up being what me and other CTR Nitro Fueled fans wanted for more CTR action.
Maybe my laptop isn't good enough to fully enjoy this game but after spending just few minutes I can say - this game is really good! Can't wait to buy it for my PS4.

This CTR inspired game might be worth to play until Activison announces the sequel to Crash Team Racing

Yeah. this game feels a bit faster than CTRNF and possibly, in terms of shortcuts you can pull off and skips, would make you think, you're flying through whole track as oppose to racing lol XD.
Either way, at least from what I've seen the controls do feel as solid as NF, which honestly, is quite impressive.
Hopefully, this will go somewhere and wont get forgotten due to circumstances.
Speaking of skips, wait to watch Woodsy Lane top times... 🙃

CTRNF was fun & all despite not having crossplay compatibility, but I’m ready for some vehicular destruction in The Karters 2: Turbo Charged!
It be cool if they did make Crash Team Racing 2
Really did hoped that CTR:NR was gonna come to pc, at least this game does resemble a lot of it, so hoping this game can bring the same level of fun of CTR on this.
Modders can put in the Crash characters and courses into this game anyway ;)
I’ll consider this a CTR 1.5. I’ll definitely check it out closer to release

If this game is not just on steam, I will be excited. I love Nitro Fuelled and miss playing a game similar to its mechanics. I like Kart Racer games in general since Mickey's Speedway USA and Mario Kart.

The HP bar is totally new for me, as I already know this game via TheViperian. It's really nice for an indie studio to pick up kart racing as a genre and basicly makes a spiritual successor to CTR, while adding MK8 and - for surprise! - Sonic Team Racing. Pretty cool!
However the constant slide boosting is overkill, even in CTR - except for Time Trials, but I guess it doesn't need any further explonation why.

At the moment, the best way to play CTRNF offline is to get switch version on pc emu
for some reason it has unlocked framerate instead of 30 fps
getting it from 30 to 50 is mindblowing and soooooo much better
depending on the hardware it could run faster, but i prefer more stable and since i played this game on 30 fps anyway, 50 is a huuuge difference

In the meantime il give the Karters a try for sure! Cuz it looks cool, will see how the controlls work etc.
Honestly, the Switch version on PC is almost "definitive". It can be upscalled, it has anisotropic filtering, the load times are better than even on PS4 and you can use cheat files to unlock all of the pitstop items and bump the framerate to 60.
My only problem with it is that some character models look a bit werd when compared to the PS4 version because they lack fur. Would be nice if someone made a mod to use PS4 assets since Yuzu supports mods..

Well, it kinda sounds lika a mix between Crash Team Racing and Skylanders Superchargers Racing with that health system. Seems fun.
Ps: Skylanders SuperChargers Racing is a really fun and underrated game that is like a whole lot better than mario trash kart
Between this and enchanted portals I'm super excited. New games inspired by Crash and cuphead are always welcome to me.

Im getting heavy CTTR and CTR vibes from this game. Heres to hoping it goes well and gets Activision’s attention and makes them reconsider a CTR sequel or CTTR remake

The "problem" I see in this game is that it looks very generic. See, Mario Kart is a simplist racing game, but it has the Mario's universe characters. CTR is awesome and has iconic characters too. But in this I will be racing with... Who? I doesn't change gameplay or anything, but feels too generic for me. I'll be trying for sure.
Dude...generic isn't the right word because you made crash team racing sound generic to mario. If all you have to do is add already known characters to a kart game than that alone is generic...new characters you don't know has nothing to do with being generic
Edit: and it does do things different, less barriers than ctr, faster, and unlike any other kart racer you spinning out is based on health and not getting hit immediately

AMO EL THE KARTES 2 pero sugiero q cambien el nombre a KARTES TEAM RACING = KTR seria genial q lo renombren asi, tambien como diseñador grafico que soy, puedo SUGERIR Q LOS ICONOS de los ITEM deben ser SINTETISADOS en positivos y negativo , como tambien EL MAPA de la pista debe ser blanco y los iconos de autos de colores para diferenciarlos porque el mapa se pierde mucho

You can play it on Mac through Game Porting Toolkit and Crossover. And the game works nearly flawlessly

Then go do that. This is great for ppl who want 60 FPS karting on PC.
Some of us only got PC rn and cant play CTR. I just finished 100% completing the original on emulator so this is easily the next best thing to feed my craving for more CTR gameplay.
I’m not really looking foreword to this… truth be told it’s just like Crash Team Rumble… they are just handing over the rights of Crash and Spyro to someone else, which is a downer. Yes I see it as a new horizon and has elements of Wipeout 2097 but how much are they going to change? What characters are going to be changed and probably ruined? What kind of nostalgia is this game going to bring? And if this is the next Crash Team Racing what is the story this time? There just seems to be a lot of open ends not meeting or going anywhere…
To me basically CTR biggest problem is that it is way too much skill based kart game. This looks even more of that and it makes it worse multiplayer experience. Of course Mario Kart 8 there are lot of skill moves to take and so on. But the base of Mario Kart is lot more friendly to everyone.
Have you tried Disney Speedstorm? it's better than Mario Kart and CTR. you have to buy it to play right now but it goes free on September 28
What's the point of playing a game that doesn't take skill AND has a lot of randomness? Sounds like gambling to me.
Besides, there's a ton of other super casual karting racers on the market so who actually wants another one, just let people enjoy a high skillcap and if you don't then you're free to go back to Mario Kart or any other mind-numbing racer to fall asleep to.

@@sebastianaliandkulche Well that kinda escalate this thing. Everyone of course needs to learn how to play first. But everything comes on the exact balance. CTR comes with boost, items and most tracks with skills. Mario Kart at least has both that makes game more chaotic and that way more equal. Good reason why it continued living to this day. Known franchise and good games just works.
