Toys for Bob has stated that they want to see our hero Crash hit the big screen. So, Could a Crash Bandicoot Movie Happen? And how can we make it good? Let's talk about it!

    If a Crash Bandicoot Movie were to happen, I think there should be an origin story on Dr. Neo Cortex. When Cortex was young, he was part of a circus with his family. Cortex didn’t wanted to be like his family and started doing his own experiments. After what happen with Cortex’s family, he went to the school of Evil where he end up meeting with N. Brio and N. Gin. The thing is that there should be a story on why Cortex is trying to create animal soldiers and rule over the world. You could actually throw in N. Brio and N. Gin to the movie plot, but they’re going to be rivals on getting orders from Cortex himself. Another character you bring in is Coco Bandicoot since she and Crash were involved with the test that Cortex and N. Gin were given to them. Later on, Crash escapes from Cortex Castle and then suddenly, Crash ends up on N. Sanity Beach when he met Aku Aku on the island. If Coco Bandicoot is involved in the movie, her role is to figure out what Dr. Neo Cortex is doing which Tawna since Tawna is Crash’s girlfriend. Coco has to try to save Tawna and escape, but failed to do so while Crash is on his way back to Cortex Castle to save them. The final scene is where Crash Bandicoot has to fight Cortex and save not only Coco and Tawna, but also the animals and the world. Who ever movie company does the Crash movie, I think is either Sony Animations or Dreamworks Entertainment to do a Crash Bandicoot movie. Not only that, Sony Animations or Dreamworks Entertainment will do a Spyro movie. I think this will be great as long they look at the source material from the games. The Crash movie will probably run at least an hour and a half or so and there should be comedy in it. It would had to have that Looney Tunes feel to it since the Crash Bandicoot was influenced by the Looney Tunes series.

  • @StickySucksAtGames
    @StickySucksAtGames Год назад +19

    They could rather add more fight action scenes with Crash than dialogue. Also, they could add a lot more to the story by expanding scenes of how Crash met aku aku for the first time or maybe how Coco found Crash after her escaping from the fire in cortex castle. Or even how Cortex met uka uka the first time.

    I honestly feel like if Crash Bandicoot were to be given a personality just for a film version, using Mr Bean as inspiration would be the best way, the character has gotten a few movies under his belt and for a Majority of screen time he's very quiet and let's his actions and body language speak for him, rather than actually speaking, he only speaks when it is absolutely necessary to further the plot, I do feel like if that energy was channeled for Crash Bandicoot it could work really well for him, sure some liberties were taken, but still feels faithful to the source material. This is from a fan of Mr Beans Holiday which main character doesn't speak much at all and yet manages to further the plot, do that with Crash then things be good.

  • @olahmundo

    I think Aku Aku could fix the problem being the character that is always with Crash and we could have a character development in Cortex since he's a verbal character and he could have a love-hate relationship with Crash, seeing himself as a father figure to the bandicoot, similar to how Crash 4 teases in the flashback tapes

    I think the animated series you're describing sounds very similar to Sonic Boom which has the team getting up to random stuff in every episode, often with Robotnik trying to destroy them or endangering other characters that the team needs to save. Sometimes, it's silly nonsense for an episode, sometimes it's more action-focused. But it was a great show with a lot of clever humour. I'd love for Crash Bandicoot to follow that format.

    I agree with everything that you said. But how about a Spyro movie? He has a bit more lore than crash (especially the legend trilogy, although it's very unlikely it will get anything made for it any time soon) and he can talk. Also, maybe it will be possible to create a crossover movie with both Crash and Spyro that makes them go on an adventure together?
    Anyway, if you got a good Crash movie script idea, I'd love to hear it. I'm interested on how you made the relatively simple plot into an interesting story.

    • @treeseis9
      @treeseis9 Год назад +2

      In my eyes, if a Crash movie is made and does really well, a Spyro one is almost inevitable and vise versa, followed by that potential crossover simply because a majority of people agree that they go hand in hand. Hope it all happens, that would be a quite a sight haha

  • @AhmedBadee

    Tom & Jerry can’t talk, yet they have many movies and people love watching them.
    For character development, Crash used to jump and spin, then he developed to be able to slide, body slam, double jump and even using fruit bazooka and driving different vehicles. The power ups are milestones for development, also he made friends, lots of friends, he met people along the way, he crossed the timelines and gained a sense of fashion that he started wearing costumes. All of these events a movie maker can invest to make a masterpiece.

    I actually don't think Crash being mute is an issue since there have been a few kids movies that have either no dialogue or the main character doesn't speak, those being WALL-E and The Shaun the Sheep Movie. Hell, there is a Brazilian movie called Boy in the World that also doesn't have any dialogue
    And I do feel there is a way for some compeling themes for a Crash movie, that being the effect man has on nature since the main villain is a scientist that experiments on animals. And that could actually be where Crash's "arc" comes into play; he wouldn't really develop like in the games but we could see him having some side effects from the (possible) months of experimentation he had been going through. Plus it could be interesting to also explore Cortex since originally he was part of a family of clowns who mocked him for his intelect and we could see how that turned him into the evil scientist he is now, which if written properly could mirror crash's side effects from the experiments

  • @dealchemist720
    @dealchemist720 Год назад +1

    If Crash was going to be the silent protagonist in the movie, the easiest way to do so is pin it to the "fail experiment". Every other animal that were successful experiment can talk, but failed experiments like Crash can't. From there, instead of Cortex seeking to destroy Crash, he simply disregards him and continues his work until Crash actually comes back to cause problems for him.

    If they were to go for a movie route, I assume they show a scene where Tawna was evolved with Crash and that they been together even before they were evolved. When Crash escapes, he's meets Aku Aku who would be his guide and commenter for the movie, throughout it we see Crash having a hard time navigating through the jungle as falls into pits, gets eaten by plants, and attacked by rabbid animals.
    If they were to go for a series though(and this might be a hot take) I kind of want it to be CG animated similar to the Skylander series or those shorts for Titans as its looks a lot closer to the games and can really have backgrounds that Pop out more.

That doesn't necessarily mean he couldn't have his own character arc though. Far from it. Aku Aku could be the one to translate Crash's feelings to the audience. For example, when Crash whimpers, that means he's sad. When he's growling, that means he's angry. When he's doing his victory dance, that means he's happy.
    Coco could also work in that regard since she's able to talk fluently and is also able to understand her brother.

For movies, the silent characters were mostly in the background, reacting to what other characters were saying. They also all had times when they talked, often as a surprise. Wile E. Coyote & The Roadrunner and Tom & Jerry hold a short cartoon all on their own without any dialogue. A series does make the most sense. honestly i think the solution to crash not talking is giving him a thinking voice, and even though it would work better we probably won’t be getting a show, this is because they already tried that before i think almost a year ago…it look really good but it was canceled…😢

    I got an idea: it should be released and distributed by Universal Pictures and should use the 10th opening logo from 1990-1997 with that majestic orchestral fanfare composed by the late James Horner. Besides, Inglourious Basterds (which was released in 2009) used the 9th opening logo of Universal Pictures.

      I have a different idea: It's a variant of the current Universal Pictures logo, but the globe is intentionally designed to look like the Universal Interactive logo that was still being used when the first Crash game was released: bright baby blue water, landmasses all colored bright red, the slim lowercase custom font for the "UNIVERSAL" lettering, maybe even the space background is darkened to pitch black to emulate the black background that that logo appeared on.

    I think a Crash Bandicoot movie could work, but I think realistically he'd work better as an episodic animated series where the finale is a movie, but it's technically a 3 part special.

    Im kinda indifferent about having a Crash Bandicoot movie. Though I'm glad that most video game movies are following the lore and personality of said characters, I'm still skeptical on some adaptions and who will be in charge on the movie. My honest opinion, I think Crash would work fantastic as a TV/Stream series. Biggest example The Cuphead Show.

    Crash can talk, like, in the handled version of Crash Of The Titans, he just talk, i don't remember about this in the console version, but it exists in the Handled Version, and, in the game Crash Bandicoot 4 It's About Time, he talks in one cutscene, and in the game Crash On The Run, has a thing about fun facts, and there has a part about crash being able to talk, but don't doing a lot, so, in a movie, they can just he talk more

  • @bullwrinkle29studiosshow37

    I think its best if Universal Pictures makes the film cause Crash and Spyro use to be own by the rights by Universal studios in 1990's - 2000's. and it's safe to say maybe DreamWorks or Illumination could make crash bandicoot, but it would be Sick if DreamWorks did it, especially in the spider verse art style. But anyways, a Crash bandicoot CGI animated Film would be great In my opinion, despite the fact our boy needs a movie. I can see A lot of References from Crash Past and now games. I can Also see a spyro reference or cameo in the film. I can see Idris Elba be the voice of Aku Aku which would fit A lot better. Also, I love how a couple of people in the comments are saying Crash would work perfectly as an animated series then a movie, I mean they got a point, but I want to see how a movie for crash would be. Paul Rudd, Ben Stiller or Armie Hammer would be odd but great choices for Crash VA in my opinion, But If Crash had a inner monologue going on in his mind or still be muted, it would be great too, but I think Crash should talk Instead of having him muted the whole entire Film. IK its weird for me to say that, but it would be surprisingly weird but great.

    Mario and Sonics movies don't work because there "strangers in a strange land" films. In fact most fans hate they did that to Sonic. Mario and Sonic worked because they realized to do this video games justice and make them feel right, the characters had to feel like gamers. So Sonic and Eggmans banter is that of two friends or siblings trying to trash talk each other while competing at video games. Mario does this too with Donkey Kong and kinda Peach.
    Crash will need to do this too.

  • @DannyBenS94
    @DannyBenS94 Год назад

    I think a Crash movie could work, but one big rule they would have to break from most of the franchise: have Crash talk. Honestly I'm fine with him talking as long as his voice is right and not annoying. I was fine with him talking in Skylanders Academy. I feel like some characters are held back when they can't speak just because "it's always been like that" like how Link can't talk in most Zelda games. Yes it's possible they can get the wrong type of voice or wrong direction, but that doesn't mean they "can't work". So...yeah, Crash should be able to talk, at least in a movie. It'll mean nothing if it's not written well of course, the movie overall needs to be good, but I feel like him not talking would hender the movie cause you know that Crash wouldn't be there as much as he should be in his own movie because of that.

  • @1wngdngl

    Personally I think Crash would better suit a cartoon series a la Animaniacs, but a movie would be interesting too. I'm imagining a plot that combines elements from the first three games so that the most iconic characters all show up.

    Sure, A Lot Of Games Are Not Really Necessary For The Big Screen, And Sure, The Mario, Sonic, Pokémon, Uncharted, And Ratchet And Clank Movies Are Slightly Adjusted With Advancements To The Plot Of Their Games And Stories.
    But That’s What Makes Them Both Unique And Profitable, Especially At The Box Office.

    I'd rather Toys for Bob or whomever made a remaster of Crash Twinsanity, with all of the cut content brought back in. Video games have become more cinematic over time, and watching all the cutscenes from a video game can be almost as long as a movie anyway. If there's a Crash Bandicoot movie to speak of, it's in watching the cutscenes (filling in gaps between scenes with the levels).

    A Crash Bandicoot movie would be a tall order, but if they can make it Work then it would be cool to see. I think people will be divided if the Movie version of Crash Bandicoot should talk or not. There are some people that think that if he talks it just wouldn't be the same but others think that if he doesn't talk then he would be flat as a character. Like for example Mario usually does not talk in his games, but for his movie he ACTUALLY did talk. I will have to see what Crash Bandicoot Movie is like before I Reserve Judgement but it might be a good one. I just hope that it is Animated and not live action. I also wonder if Coco will be in it and not just Crash Bandicoot, Tawna, Neo Cortex, Nitrus Brio, and Aku Aku.
    Lastly I wonder who should voice papu papu, ripper roo, koala Kong and Pinstripe Potoroo, and Aku Aku. Like the bosses didn’t talk in the first game and Aku Aku didn't talk in the first 2 games, but they would need to be able to talk in the movie to not be bland characters.
