Bruh if it’s crash I buy it
Same
Shame that they didn’t publish Crash N Burn
This game look awesome why did this get cancelled
@@cjgamer6356 well I’d say N sane was a better way to continue the franchise from where it was good.
@@cjgamer6356 I agree
The fact that BRB made the prototype in *8 Days,* is just *mind blowing* to me.
Well, the engine was already there so they only had to create some assets and animations, although that is still a lotta work to be done in just 8 days
it a large team
@@bobipineman Large team doesn't mean productivity when it comes to pre-planning and prototyping. Many development cycles for AAA games have a small team first to outline everything they would like to develop over the course of the game development cycle. After they have a working draft and prototype, then they bring in their whole team.
@prickly pear it just a tech demo
Looks pretty impressive for a Prototype .
I agree with you man. But now I’m sitting here wondering what the final version of Crash N Burn would have looked like
@@corbynwilding3205 same lol
For only being made in 2 weeks it looks like it has potential

Not hatin’ but this is mostly about sonic. The crash game looked cool though
i was about to say that. more then half of this video was about sonic boom..
Kinda disappointed that it went off topic a bit but the Crash n Burn looked cool
Honestly! Going off topic for 2 minutes in a 5 minute video is VERY noticeable lol
That’s because Bigredbutton was a small company that a lot of people don’t know of, they are only known to making the worse Sonic game of all time.
Honestly the atmosphere of the demo felt like Sonic
I actually liked Shadow the Hedgehog. It's not a masterpiece by any means, but it's my guilty pleasure game. lol!
Same with me always play it for a good laugh but in all honesty I thought the levels were done well and fun minus a few of them here and there
Game was sick
Too many endings tbh

More like Ass n’ Burn, AMIRIGHT?!?!??
get out lol

cue CSI Miami theme song.
I personally liked the look of the CryEngine, despite Unreal & Alchemy being older engines. The cartoony look & atmosphere of N-Sane & Crash 4 I feel fits better than a more realistic one in CryEngine.
If this game had gotten green-lit & released, I most likely would've picked it up!
The name reminds me of the Crash and Burn level from Wrath of Cortex.
Maybe because its the same name? lol
Imagine a prototype looking almost like a finished game.
Imagine a finished game almost looking like a prototype
@@Silver-bj8nt well, do SquareEnix have the game for you
What Activision Publishing did for Crash Bandicoot's 20th anniversary was to input both Crash and Doctor Neo Cortex in Skylanders: Imaginators. Vicarious Visions even acted as a support studio for Toys For Bob on the game for the Thunpin' Wumpa Islands Adventure Pack. When you place either of them on the Portal of Power, the level is immediately 🔓. And I do believe that Vicarious Visions was still working on the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy when Skylanders: Imaginators was released. As for Crash N' Burn, it looks pretty good in my opinion.
kinda happy we didn't get that and instead got the remasters and crash 4
YEAH WHO M
I wish we got them all.
Yeah but still BigRedButton deserved more and they have the raw talent to pull it off and the only reason why Sonic Boom failed was because of nonsensical decisions made by Sonic Team and Sega left and right, from trying to make a new and different Sonic to forcing it to be a traditional Sonic game that ate up time and not having time to actually finish it, not to mention this was BRB only project they had that they were stuck with, no one gave a flying crap about them, heck they could barely keep the lights on that this was a make or break situation for non existence to existing, it was rough times for them.
Same I'm also glad
I'm glad we got what we did. But it would have been interesting to see this project flourish. Big red button is a decent developer, they were just screwed over by sega.
They are clearly competent with the cry engine. Considering how fast they were able to create this & how good sonic synergy looked.
How were they screw by saga if anything their head producer rushed them
Why does this looks like a dream(PS4) game
They made it in 2 weeks of course it will look like a dreams game
I’m sure it’s going to look better if it was a full game
@@BandomCD makes sense

Game canceled? Are you sure? Well, Wrath of Cortex didn't do as well as we hoped and.....

Haha, I see what you did there. 😉👍
I'm trying to work out how that beach got so high up those cliffs.
Just want to say that the dev team behind Sonic Boom had nothing to do with it being bad. It was a miracle it was even on the Wii U like you said. But, porting the game to an engine that supported the WiiU wasn't all they've done for the title. They had to take stuff out from the game. Environments, combat depth, name it and the team probably took that away. Stuff that could have made Sonic Boom put Sonic into an entirely different era that wasn't just going fast and being edgy. Even after porting the game, the WiiU STILL struggled to run the game. If there is a comparison in the developmental nightmare the team was going through... look no further than Mass Effect Andromeda. Funnily enough, although the situations were different, these two games suffered the exact same problem: the games they were making were incompatible with engine they were trying to use. Although Boom's development was shorter since horrible management seems to be just an EA thing, the majority of the game's development was slapping bandaids on it until they were greenlit. Though Andromeda had a future, they could have saved the game with updates. In fact, had the team been allowed to put out the DLCs for Andromeda, it would still have a shitty story but at least the bonus content would have been a worthwhile purchase. Sonic Boom did not have that luxury. While WiiU can still update their games, the final product was already bringing it to its knees. Outside of bug fixes there was no saving that game. Which is a damn shame, as Sonic could had used the spinoff to breathe new air to its life... Oh well, at least we can look forward to Sonic Forces though, right?
so glad someone is giving light to the hell that sonic boom went through
It was actually planned for 2016, hence the 20 behind the logo, as 2016 was the 20th anniversary of Crash.
Still hurts how Sega was the major cause for how Sonic Boom turned out in the end...
Amazing !The cancelled Crash Bandicoot video game Crash andBurn looks and sounds interesting! But with a name like Crash and Burn, (although very cleverly named) it sounds like it wouldn't reach its potential, especially compared to other Crash Bandicoot video games, including the brand new2020 Crash Bandicoot 4:It's About Time video game, which is a popular best seller since Crash Bandicoot 3:Warped, my top personal favorite Crash Bandicoot, The awesome 2008 Crash : Mind Over Mutant video game, and the 2017 Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy video game! But thanks for the video,Canadian Guy! ;D
I mean...it kinda just looks like it would have been a return to form but not a lot else, it gives me Wrath of Cortex vibes of playing it safe. I think after Titans and Mutant this could be a good first step to regain Crash' popularity, but not even close to achieving the success Crash 4 got
See crash looks kinda weird on this game but everything else looks amazing
nah it's just his original design
The sad part about Sonic Boom was that it could have been really good. It just took too many hits to the point it became THAT bad
I really appreciate them directly translating the original concept sketches of Crash's old designs into the game, as that's a very heartfelt touch.
However... I don't know, there's just something about his expression that's very... off. I think it just goes to show that not all drawings look good rendered as a 3D model. But the environment's colors and the lighting are still beautiful!
You're right but i think if they got the job they would have refined this into a really cool expressive model, this was a 2 week tech demo they made, in 2 years they could have made a really funny expressive version of this. Still glad we got the remakes instead tho
Agreed. I guess because it's a Prototype that Crash's face isn't rigged yet. So who knows, Crash might have been expressive in the final build.
@@LucarioShirona definitely they would've done it in a heartbeat honestly.
Dude, its a prototype made in 2 weeks jesus
@@_jo4quin I acknowledge that, I'm saying translating the drawing 1-1 as a 3D model looked strange, and I know it would have been worked on and fixed. It just goes to show that what works on paper as a picture doesn't always work within a 3 dimensional space. For the time they had, the environments in particular look phenomenal.
As a person who first and only crash game(not kidding when I say this) was wrath of cortex , I would say it wouldn’t have gotten the ball rolling again but it definitely would have started it
To be fair if they had actually made the game, the final product would look a lot more polished. It would be really cool if they were given a chance to create Crash 5 (given they get plenty of time and resources, but that's the case for any developer)
I’d probably pick this up if it got released.
So big res button had the idea of the wumpa fruit coming to you instead of picking them up first thats pretty neat
Seems to have potential, but I don't think I can blame Activision for not taking the risk with BigRedButton.
Also, I, for one, actually like the tattooed crash games. At least the console versions. Not nearly as much as N Sane or Crash 4, but still.
They made this in two weeks. It's still really impressive and i can't judge this in comparasion to N'Sane Trilogy which was fully developed.
Just like Crash Landed, if that game would’ve been so popular, the N. Same Trilogy, Nitro Fueled, and It’s about time wouldn’t have been born in the first place until now.
The real depressing thing about Sonic Boom was that it could've been so much more.
Seriously, I remember a time when the game actually looked... well, somewhat promising, but alas...
"Does this look like a crash game you'd pick up?”
THIS. THIS. This looks pretty impressive for a Prototype.
The fact that BRB made the prototype in *8 Days,* is just *mind blowing* to me.
This honestly doesn’t look half bad. It is nice that the crash model pays homage to his original concept art.
But guess you could say the game....
Crashed and burned!
If that Crash game was released I might pick it up if it sells well
I would play it and the sonic ones also ID love it if they could bundle them into a collection from big red button and put them on PS4 or switch lite even both ID play them big time. No need to let the work go down the drain ID be very happy to play them.
Also that cancelled game crash landed that looked pretty interesting
I think had Crash’N Burn been made, it technically would have been the return for the series for much of the team that originally created the series. Especially for Bob Rafei.
The model looks little too close to Bubsy for my liking. And Lol BRB, they dodged a bullet by not hiring them. Say what you want about Sega, it was still brb who made Sonic Boom, a game with several questionable game design ideas, such as beat em up gameplay, in a Sonic game. No matter the console, it still looks like it would have been mediocre. Looking at the rest of their repertoire, they made other games that are mediocre at best, so I don't have much faith in them at all.
People suck off the cut content for the game but it would have been even slower.
Well the reason Boom came out the way it did was Sega's fault 🤷♂️ BRB had a promising looking build at first
@@VinnimonCinnimon and they still went on to make mediocre games afterward... Who's to say the same wouldn't have happened to Crash?
@@mayday-tz4dv Well it definitely wasn't gonna revive crash regardless as the public lost interest in him up until nsane. And none of their projects after Boom were high profile, and basing off how boom almost killed the studio I doubt they had the budget to make anything too amazing anyways. They're competent developers who got screwed over by Sega and that's just what it is.
Well the whole point of Sonic Boom was to create a new and different Sonic the Hedgehog to lure in new fans that wouldn't care about Sonic otherwise, which in some cases they nailed it and the more Sonic Team and Sega themselves trying to make it more of a traditional Sonic game killed it, heck they were planing on making Water not a hazard and make the player explore it, even in combat which sounds great, till Sonic Team got involved and did the thing that's every 3D Sonic player's bane of existence, making the water hazardous, yeah Sonic Team really showed how stupid they can be...
Crash n Burn looks like a well polished fan game to spite the era of "tattoo Crash"
I love how Crash looks so much like the original concept art. This is something we never really got after Nitro Kart, I wish the NSane models looked like this instead.
The n sane trilogy made me a """"crash fan"""" and im a dyhard nintendo guy. It means a lot. Trust me.
I would love a new game in the style of Twinsanity.
Yeah this would've been different if BigRedButton was hired to bring back the Bandicoot and the whole Sonic Boom situation wasn't there fault and more of both Sonic Team and SEGA's efforts of bumbling that caused it to bomb, i do recommend Matt McMuscles What Happened on the subject for clarity of the situation, cause everything isn't as black and white as you would expect.
if sonic boom rise of lyric was good if sega never made a deal with nintendo
Ii think the animation is really well done for the time it took to do. I would like to see it anyway
Crash and Burn (by both the looks of it and the logo having a big 20 in the background) makes me believe it would have been a full remake of Crash 1 with added content and levels
Kind of hard to tell... It sure doesn't meet my standards _now,_ but I'm fairly sure those got raised by N.Sane, then further by CTR, then a great deal further by Crash 4. None of which would've happened before this had happened.
I do know it would always look just a bit "off" to me, but not as bad as "the tattoo era".
Honestly the level looks nice, but not the model. If they touched up the model more I would maybe consider checking it out
Crash n burn looks good, I’d buy it. It’s a prototype so it’s obviously not going look perfect.
Well, a canceled Crash Bandicoot 2014 game: "Crash 'N Burn" that had been developed by Big Red Button was canceled.
Yes thank you I watch the video as well
@@platinumpokitaru No problem.
@@tresheppard8942 they were being sarcastic
No it looks like something a fan dev made in his free time alone
It was a prototype they cooked up in 2 weeks, the final game would have looked better for sure, particularly in the animation department.
@@HeloisGevit no kidding would've liked it if BigRedButton got there chance of redemption honestly.
It's actually real. I have links to the article and BigRedButton's video showcasing gameplay
@@ElectroBlastLuigi i mean the answer to if i would want it
one thing for sure thoose animations on crash look straight up beautifull and smooth as butter
The loss of Crash N’ Burn should be a national tragedy. 😢
Crash n' Burn looks 10000 times better than N-Sane Trilogy, and the fact it was made in barely 1 week, makes that just way more sad that it got cancelled.
Just as long as Crash name written on it I will definitely gonna get it for sure.
Yes I will pick up this game it looks awesome
If I didn't know any better, I would assume Crash N Burn was a prototype for N. Sane trilogy before a drastic art style change.
It honestly looks great, but even if it was fully developed and released, (and not turn out anything like Sonic Boom Wii U) I don't think it would've had the same positive impact that N. sane did, since it was essentially equal parts return to form, and equal part reintroduce to new gen.
This looks like it would be a great return to form of its own, or even a unique and fresh spin to the series as well, but would only really resonate with the hard core fans rather than a new audience, or wouldn't feel quite the same as the original either if the physics weren't right.
None of the less, this was something pretty interesting to learn about.
It looks pretty good in all honestly, wouldn’t of made an impact like nsane did though, but maybe gathering this idea into the next game could be a thought?
what is that crash backround music you had on
It looks great! But geez, when you ray to break crates, why does It stop you in your tracks? That’s dumb.
Crash N Burn looks cool, graphics seem almost better than N Sane Trilogy? I like the lighting, birds, and environment I see
The main problem of Sonic Boom is CRY engine.
BigRedButton can't use another engine?
@@RiteofIcarus ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Not gonna lie, it doesn't SLIGHTLY look like one. I'd say the N.Sane Trilogy brought Crash back the most, especially since the last one lead to the latest one, Crash Bandicoot 3 - 4
Sonic and the black knight what?? The music and cutscene were cool especially the transformation
Doesn't change that the gameplay is crap and the gameplay is the absolute most important part of a videoGAME.
@@elin111 Secret Rings had worse gameplay cuh
I wish this game saw the light of day
It looks decent, does make me curious what it would've look like if it got greenlit.
Wow that looks way better than I expected after the lead up and saying how bad Sonic Boom was lol
I'm glad these two guys collab, shemp has a great voice. CGE is the Brad Pitt voice and shemp the Morgan Freeman. That's my comparison and I'm sticking to it 😉
This guy should really get his own channel if he doesn't have one already.
Don’t forget Illfonic, they were part of this too. The Guys who Created Friday the 13th The Game and Predator Hunting Grounds helped create that piece of crap that was Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric.
Looks better then its about time
As someone that has played every console Crash since the beginning... it looks much better than the PS2 days with Wrath of Cortex and tattoo Crash. Personally I will always enjoy Twinsanity
well it kind of looks the same to the original trilogy. The same jungle with the same boxes, the same crabs (?)... I guess they just realized that they weren't adding anything new to the formula.
I honestly felt disappointed with some level concepts and design on "It's About Time" because they tend to repeat the same scenarios over and over (the floor is lava gimmick on the Jurassic levels, for example).
Well, if this was launched, we wouldn't get N.Sane Trilogy, CTR:NF, and also Crash 4, so im happy with this timeline, the reason of why it got crashed'n'burned must be because they were already working on N.Sane Trilogy, i guess..
I actually feel sorry for this game.
I would have bought this game if it had came out just from the prototype this game looks good to bad it never came out🙁
I don't get motion sickness but the camera shaking makes me dizzy
I wish both were made
Sonic & The Black Knight was freaking awesome!!!
Wow, there are some Boom's assets in the Crash Demo.
It looks better than "N.Sane" , but they still took realistic direction for Crash cartoony character.
Looks like a very well-polished Dreams level!
I would back to it honesty since Crash is red hot right now.
As someone who's in the minority that enjoyed Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, it hurts that this didn't get the greenlight.
And weirdly, Rise of Lyric did feel very Crash like... I have often wondered if the team was originally working on a Crash Bandicoot spiritual successor until SEGA contacted them.
Heaven help us all in about 5 years when people will be arguing about how "Sonic Boom wasn't that bad a game" like most are doing with Black Knight currently
3:51 Crash 'N' Burn GAMEPLAY
Alternate universe: crash’s canceled remakes leaked.
Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric may be the subject of ridicule and criticism among most people, but I will never be harsh or show hostility towards it due to the potential it had. I have tremendous respect for the former Naughty Dog crew and know that most of the games problems had nothing to do with their talent and years of experience. I really hope they’re doing well.
Since WayForward are continue developing a cancellation Shantae Game Boy Advance game, they should do the same with cancellation Crash games to get them completed and release it.
if sonic boom was good it would the timeline will be different and sonic boom will still be alive and we will get crash bandicoot crash and brun if sega never made a deal with Nintendo
So I clicked the video to hear Canadian Guy's thoughts on the Crash N Burn title. But what I ended up getting was Shemp wasting 3 minutes of a 5 minute video talking about why Sonic Boom sucks, as if he thinks that this is a video about Sonic Boom and not Crash Bandicoot. Sure Crash N Burn is just a short demo and not much to talk about, but I didn't need the, "Why Sonic Boom sucks" lecture that I've seen a million times before on a million other different videos. All I'm saying is that you should've kept the video short and simple rather than go on a lengthy off topic subject.
I feel like crash n burn would be just as if not more hated as sonic boom. The physics and graphics give people boom vibes. And somrthing tells me they arent gonna be happy when they see that company logo
Lesson 1.
It's Crash you buy and play it and don't think about a Plot.
Btw, there is a huge CTR NF update downloading rn, idk what it is yet...
It’s probably a patch
They said they are not adding more characters or items
@@linuscunttips it's a bit too long for a patch, like 2 hours long.
You know... Activision should buy BigRedButton and make this game a reality as well as acquiring the Jak and Daxter ip rights from Naughty Dog/Sony since the studio was formed by ex naughtydog members
Does anyone know what happened to the orange gem in crash bandicoot 2 cortex strikes back and crash bandicoot warped because it's completely missing
I liked the way the Crash Landed game looked more than this one.
That actually looks pretty decent. The model is the only thing i dont like, but it is just a prototype
I am actually kind of bummed that they didn’t make this game I really like big button because of Bob Rafei And his work there he is an artist who defined our childhood with the likes of Jak and Daxter and crash bandicoot. If this was made in two weeks which it looks good in my opinion I can only imagine how good it would’ve looked if they had gotten the green pass for this it really looks like they were staying faithful to the original games with it and it would’ve been a good in between game before the insane trilogy
1 week it was made is impressive
The game looks ...solid but i just can't imagine crash future in a universe where the n.sane trilogy wasn't a thing
I just realized that crash knew and did spinjitsu before it was a thing
Well one thing i can say about that demo is that the running animation is still better than what we got on Crash 4 lol.
How is crash 4’s animation bad?
@@traktor420 It's not bad in fact it's pretty awesome, just Crash's running animation looks kinda robotic imo.
