Everything about this scene is perfect. The camel, in the background, ducking under the crane, the script, the chemistry between Cuba Gooding and Tom. Hilarious and totally genuine. I love it.
I love classic movie dialogue like this. Smart, witty, lyrical, multiple meanings. It was meant to make up for the fact that not every visual effect imaginable existed yet. So writers had to direct audiences, through dialogue, to their own brains to engage with the story and characters.
why didn't rod mentions how she treats him a hell of a lot better than the previous monster he was engaged to. Exhibit A ruclips.net/video/niZKrt4XAZE/видео.html
Not only does this apply to men dating single mothers, but this applies to how men treat women period in the dating game. There are too many cowards out there who either ghost a woman, or play games and flirt, but "don't want her to go." Men look for one thing and think it's the determining factor for a relationship, when there's much more involved to making a relationship work. Women in the dating game should also be fair to men , as there are women out there who play games too.
80% of the time it’s women’s fault for this, because 80% of women chase the top 10% of men. Thinking that they actually got a shot with him. See it all the time “Why do guys kept cheating on me?” Well young lady you keep “dating” 9’s and 10’s, when you are a 6. Odds are he is just playing around with you till a 8,9, or 10 women shows up(close to his looks match). It’s just nature/natural selection, nothing evil about. It just is. Face reality ladies, embrace it, and be at peace with it. Same goes for men. Maybe you will get lucky, but don’t bet you life or emotional well-being on it.
Imagine a store owner allowing a thief to steal from the store on a regular basis with the hope that the thief will eventually start paying . The thief is wrong to steal, the store owner is being foolish. They're BOTH wrong. IOW a single mom would be wise to withhold the pootie.

It means being with someone for the wrong reasons. It could be money, the kid, or even their dog. Just anything that has nothing to do with them as a person.
I love how he is dead serious about not playing around with a single mother unless he's really feeling something for her.

The way Cuba walks is legendary.
He's so confident. I dig his swagger. You can tell he loves his wife, he loves his career, and he loves BEING ALIVE.
"They've been to the puppet show, and they've seen the strings"
Rod Tidwell metaphor for screwd over
I swear the chemistry between these two is unmatched! Rod was dropping gems too 💯
"... alright... I shoplifted the pootie." LMAO! Great scene.

And now it's the opposite and by God is it terrible now. Modern writers suck.
0:29 love the change in tone; when Cuba comes w/ the serious question out of nowhere.
1:13 someone needs to Gif that 😂
Good idea.
I think that part was made to become a GIF
Best duo in movie history. Love em both!
Nah. Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan.
Notice that he talks about the kid being amazing, not her.
(Jerry marries her)
ROD: *shrugs* you didn't have the talk did you? *laughs* I guess this is another way to go.
LMAO this scene was brilliant!
I didn't shoplift the pooty..LMAO
As insane as Rod Tidwell was, at least in this regard he spoke as an authority and a seer. You HAD to listen.
why didn't rod mentions how she treats him a hell of a lot better than the previous monster he was engaged to.

I just realized Shoplift the pootie rhymes with Show me the money.

The second best scene in the movie
Superstition Mountains in the background. Stunning, but brutal hike up to the top of the Flat Iron.

No. I don't know what that is.

@@pethrosuriahson6156 in this movie, yes. In real life though, both would usually be considered crazy and manipulative.
