Big up-dos, cocktails throughout the day, cigarettes, polyester pants-suits, and nothing resembling exercise. They also tended to drive enormous sedans with back seats piled high with stuff.
Where I grew up, these ladies were usually women who had a cleaning job at the school or worked at the local restaurant or bar. They were always rather kind and a more of a grandmotherly type. .-D But they sure spoke like that!
I cant believe no one has uploaded the one where Mrs. Barone is the owner of the only Smoking Restaurant around! The local health inspector falls in love with her! Its hilarious!
I can talk like her! :-D I can imitate a lot of things, and so can my oldest brother. Our granddad was the entertainer of our little town, I think we got it from him! He would come over to my Mom´s house ( he was my Mom´s father), and make impressions of f.ex. the Mayor, or the Reverend, and make them say all kinds of stuff, that they NEVER would in real life! Sometimes, he would also tell real scary stories late in the evening, and my brother Ben remembers that he couldn´t sleep, after my granddad left. I was too small to remember this, I was just a baby back then, but my two eldest siblings and Mom and my Aunt have all told great stories about our hilarious Granddad...
Artie used to be so handsome, it's such a shame what happened. He was so funny on the stern show, and now the stern show is nothing but propaganda. If you ever see this Artie i hope you're doing well so many former stern fans miss you.
