The strafe back jump is something that I had never seen in my 600 hours, completely fucking phenomenal. I used to just strafe into doors, never would've even contemplated using a normal airstrafe if I knew a backstrafe was so effective and quick

    • @hekavan

I am a Pathfinder main with nearly 5 million grappling meters traveled(top 100 overall). I watch your vids to see if I can come away with anything new that I haven't managed to figure out movement wise. Although I didn't personaplly learn anything new from this, it was well made and very easy to understand. People have slept on the wall jumping capabilities for so long. I have nearly mastered them, but as an Xbox player, it's so much tougher to stop my left stick inputting a forward momentum than it is to let go of the W key lol. Great video! Cheers mate!

This is a solid and very thorough guide. The only tech I didn't see mentioned is that another way to avoid the stun when falling is to airstrafe into a wall and do a very short wall climb right before you hit the ground. If you do it right you'll be able to move even faster than you do when punching it.

This is a very good guide, I knew pretty much everything in this video as I've been playing this game for quite some time (pretty much from release) but I still have to say there is a lot I could take away from this video, like generally smoothing of the movements, and while I was doing them this helps reach a more perfected level. The one this helped me with is wall jumping, while I have been doing it for while, I was not doing it as well as this, and this is definitely a better method than what I was doing, so thanks for this guide, it helped me, and I'm sure will help a lot of others too, especially new players skipping the learning it yourself phase and want to skip all the getting used to the game and just practice best possible movements. If I had this video from the start it would have been an even bigger help. Seriously thanks for this video, its very well put together, easy to watch and listen to. Top job man!

As an experienced player by season 7, it amazes me how as early as season 2, people had already figured out the most advanced ways to use the physics of this game... half of these tricks I didn't even know existed.

Nice, this is the best guide on youtube hands down.
I know most of these things that are on this video but I still have learnt new things. zippline bhopping is insane!!! And also zippline super jumping is something unbelieveable!!, it will open a new whole level for pathfinder and maybe octane. But I have to say that air strafing on ps4 (or a controller) is harder than on pc, because in pc you can just press (A or D) without even inputting forward movement (w), but on a controller you move the analog to the left or right, but sometimes you accidently move it to the left and forward or right and forward, so I find airstrafing with a controller is hard but not impossible, you won't do it 100% all the time but it would still be still decent.
I would like also to share some ideas for a new video, maybe you should call it "advanced movement guide characters edition" so it will be movements guide for specific characters, for example:
1- pathfinder can grapple on a zippline and swing around it.
2 -you can climb on caustic's trap or wattson's ultimate thingy to get to out of reach places.
3-lifeline's heal drone, you can move it next to you if you keep crouching and pushing it. I even saw a video of a lifeline's player who used the drone and then he closed the door on the drone, that made the drone stuck inside the player's body and it heals him where ever he goes to ( ofc untill his tactical finishes).
Thanks for the video it is really great especially for beginners.

Thanks for the in depth guide. There were so many very basic skills I still had no idea how to do that you explained (i.e. correctly dolphin diving, and the concept of air strafing) that were frustrating me due to know of them but not know how. Most guide would be as long as your video and only contain one technique and not even explained well.
I also learned I need to let go of W more when using a lot of movements, and hold crouch more. So I will probably bind crouch(hold) to a mouse button and practice using it more along with mouse wheel jumping.

This still is and will be the most comprehensive guide, you won't find a better one. I know one boost I haven't seen in the video... When grappling/ziplining or jumping from high, land on corners of rocks, sloped debris and slope parts of buildings or vehicles. It sends you flying, sometimes hard to manage direction but the speed boost is huge. It's especially useful when otherwise not landing on these would result in a full stop landing.
