    I like the idea of Gust of Wind being cast in the same are as Grease. I’d give the dex save disadvantage to not fall prone and if they fail that one, they automatically fail the strength to avoid being pushed backwards.

    Command is also a super useful spell! I'm particularly fond of "grovel".

    You should do a paladin analysis. I think it'd be really cool to pick apart that class and how they're different from clerics. Love the video!

      A couple of Paladin videos would be cool. Even more so if you do an unorthodox paladin video. Oath of Conquest Paladin has good synergy with Abjurer Wizard.

    I used Enlarge/Reduce to enlarge our wild shape druid who was in Ape form so we could ride him out of a prison that we had just escaped from while 2 bad groups fought each other. It was a pretty epic save cause we had just got gear back and we're not really in position to battle.

    I love that you do not say the same thing that every other person making D&D 5e videos says. Your unique point of view is appreciated.

    That was great, thanks, bard. I enjoyed hearing your thoughts on various spells. Feel free to continue with the other tiers, if you like.

    Also with Thunderwave, watch out for players who are NOT concerned about party damage.

    I'm quite surprised Counterspell didn't make the list or Dispel Magic for that matter.
    I would love to see you do a video specifically on spell selection for The Bard's Magical Secrets. Or possibly reviewing the classes from the Xanathar's Lost Notes PDF

    • @lewishosking

      Counterspell and Dispel magic are tier 2.

    • @O-D-X
      @O-D-X 5 лет назад +2

      @@lewishosking Tier 1 is generally considered to be levels 1-5, which means 3rd level spells are in fact tier 1. That said, I don't recall him mentioning any third level spells so he probably like you considered them as tier 2.

    Would love to see a list of best spells for non-caster classes!
    Haven't really played a caster (yet) although I've planned out several. Got a taste of it in my longest campaign with my Warforged Arcane Archer. I took Magic Initiate Feat pretty early for flavor (he was a flawed prototype model built with more curiosity and personality, which came across as being on the spectrum).
    It worked beautifully taking Find Familiar and Shocking Grasp/Chill Touch. My owl familiar Reggie giving advantage on arcane shots and Shocking Grasp to stun opponents that got too close, giving me time to find a better vantage point.
    Still my favorite character I've played, though my new Lizardfolk Sun Soul Monk is looking interesting...
    Cheers and keep up the great content!

    Are you able to do a video on builds for the fiend patron? I've been thinking about playing them but I am having trouble thinking of a build

    Do you think you could make a video on what spells count as a "curse" in 5e? Because I honestly don't know what all Remove Curse would effect, save for the obvious ones like Curse and Hex(blade's Curse). Thank you and much appreciated if you do.

  • @texasred9372

    I just had one question, do spells follow the roll d20 to hit rule? Or do creatures/opponents just have to make a d20 saving throw when clearly stated?

  • @ericpeterson8732

    1:02 That was my comment, tacked on the end of my defense of abilities that kick in when you fall to 0 hp. 😁 basically, many classes are restricted to just a few spells per level, so which ones do you favor?
    So, thanks.

    I really hate all the 8 hour duration spells. They're incredibly awkward and cumbersome. Not long enough to cast in the morning as part of a morning ritual, long enough to make you feel like you're supposed to.

    • @chrisvelo2595
      @chrisvelo2595 5 лет назад +1

      I think most dms rule that if you cast those type of spells that they are active until your next long rest. Most dms treat them to be akin to morning rituals so you shouldnt have a problem casting those mage armors and aid spells
